  1. I might go for full dragon, seeing as it's 4m cheaper and has better slash and stab defense (seeing as that's what most people use).

I just used the compare items feature and saw that Torag's is much better in defense...but I really don't like repairing armor.

So my setup would then be:

    torag's body

    ? legs

    ? helm

    Dragon boots

    Fury

  2. If Jagex lets me have my locked Summoning Tank account back, would Bandos be worth it to purchase? I have about 30m gp. I really don't want to buy Barrows armor. I don't feel like getting degradable armor. My other option is to get a cool 99 and a set of Dragon (chainbody set). What do you all think? Thanks!

  3. I have an HP pure, and while it is kinda cool to be such a low combat level with high HP, it's kind of boring to bury bones all day in soul wars since there is nothing else to do. I was thinking about getting strength up and becoming a Mauler, but my name is "HP Wins" so that would be kind of dumb... :-/ What do I do? I still have like 20+ days of membership left. Thanks everyone that replies. :)

ALSO: Off-topic, but...is it possible to make multi spaced names still? I have tried but idk if they're all taken or if Jagex stopped that from happening. Thanks!

  4. Good information. I give it 7/10 because of the equipment setups. Dragon boots > rune boots. Zerker ring > no ring. Rune Kite> Rune Sq. Those are a few examples of the ways to improve it. Besides that this is great. Also you might want to mention that you can train attack at dummies up to lvl 5 in varrock above the east bank. I found it increase the exp/hr by a decent enough amount to justify it. It's only one more combat level for the ability to hit much more often, and if you're at cows you'll be able to make money faster.

    Straight from the guide:

(feel free to add a cape and gloves of your choice, or rune full helm; I was just too cheap to buy that stuff) I don't have insane amounts to spend on a Zerker Ring. Even if I did, it's pointless because someone with 1 attack and Strength will only be able to hit ones anyway. As for "Dragon boots > rune boots," if I could wear Dragon for that screenshot, I would have. However, I could not because my Defense level was 45 at the time.

  5. Thanks for using my guide for data, I appreciate it. ::'

Are you using the value 7.8260869565217391304347826086957 for maxium possible zeal per hour? Also don't forget spending 100 zeal at once gets you a 10% bonus, so you should keep in mind that the zeal you get should actually be multiplied by 1.1.

You should continue this with mage/range, prayer, and slayer. \'

    Hey mario,

Thanks for letting me use the data. I would have PMed you, but I figured a citation was good enough.

I'm using 9.0 as the max zeal per hour because 3 games per hour 3 zeal per game = 9. Should I be using your value?

As for the 10% multiplier, I left it out because I like to turn my points in 10 at a time (what can I say, I like instant gratification).

I plan on making some revisions shortly, as well as adding the other styles (haha imagine a combat 3 with 99 slayer)

    Thanks for the input! :)

  6. dfchester, you didn't answer the question at all.

I think there are several faster methods of making money. Contrary to what people think, you don't make much money Runecrafting anymore, with the cost of Pure Essence factored it. I did some calculations a few months ago and it ended up being 100k gp per hour or less.

However, I still think that this would be a good idea because you'd be getting experience in a reputable skill as a bonus. The other, faster ways of making money are usually NPC trading methods. Not too consistent, and very, very boring.

If you can stand making 50k law runes, go for it.

Another idea is to make Runecrafting (or another moneymaking skill) your first 99, then use the money from that to fund Construction.

Welcome to my Soul Wars Leveling Guide!

These are the times for raising either attack, defense, strength, or hitpoints in Soul Wars. This is solely Zeal Points; it does not include xp you receive during the game. I did this by making an excel spreadsheet and plugging in numbers.

    I got the data from here.(thanks, mario_sunny!)

The point of this guide is for people that are making defense pures and HP pures; they can't (reasonably) train any other way. from what I hear, it's great for mage and range training, too. :)

[hide=Google Docs Version!]The spreadsheet is located here!

    Instructions:

    First, open the workbook.

Use the dropdown menu to select your level. This shows starting xp, xp difference, xp per Zeal Point, and XP Per hour gains, as well as how many hours it will take to advance to the next level.

To view multiple levels, use the "Custom Filter" feature, (click on the down arrow for levels, then click [Custom Filter])

To use the "Min Total" and "Max Total" functions, select the level ranges you would like using the Custom Filter feature and then add this text into the appropriate boxes:

Min total: Substitute your range of numbers for x.

    =SUM(Gx:x)

    Example:

=SUM(G22:G55) gives me 49.50 minimum hours for the level range I selected.

Max Total: Substitute your range of numbers for x.

    =SUM(Hx:Hx)

    Example:

=SUM(H22:H55) gives me 148.51 maximum hours for the level range I selected.

  8. I have a defense pure already; it's just that I'm tired of waiting for it to be unlocked. This is my 2nd failed unlock attempt and I don't know if Jagex will ever let me have my account back....so I just made this guy. The status symbol thing will probably be a problem...idk if I'd rather be called a def noob my whole life. EVERYONE respects a 25 with hp cape though.

EDIT: I'm currently working on the time estimates. The thing I'm worried about is that Jagex will either:

    a) make a minimum level requirement

    or

    B) make it so you have to do damage (like Pest Control)

That would ruin everything for this guy.

RE-EDIT: Screw math by hand; going to make a spreadsheet to do it for me.

  9. Since my tank account is locked from so many people trying to hack it, I have had some time to kill. I made a new character with the name "Hp Wins" (I like it a lot heh). I have a few questions though:

Would it be a good option to make an HP pure (skiller) through Soul Wars? I would just run around and bury bones.

Do you think Jagex will nerf it and make it so I wouldn't be able to train this way?

Would it be worth the membership money?

    Thanks,

    Sand

  10. I don't think def pures are very viable for f2p. If you can, get members and play the crap outta soul wars before they nerf it. Soooo worth it.

OT: No, you get the XP right after you kill Elvarg.

  11. Timewise, I'd say maybe a week depending on time played. It's really not that hard to achieve.

I remember when I first started hunting on my old main, I played 3 hours per day to get there, and then again to get to 63. Once I got to 73, I stopped because it was killing my wrists XD

Moral is, don't powertrain heavy clicking skills like this.

  12. If you're mining, pure essense will probably get you more cash by at least three times what you'd get mining adamantite.

Since you seem like you want to skill for money, why not try Hunter? It is better money than any of the other gathering skills right now. The only downside is the amount of clicking required. However, getting to 99 nets you a cool 30m.
