  1. Hey,

I haven't played since 2008 (I think..around when Godwars was the 'endgame'). I've been reading around and there seems to be a huge amount of content since then, and I find it quite hard to get a summary of things added.

Anybody can link me/post a general list of MAIN things added to the game since then (huge I know) so I can read up on them?

From reading, I see theres a new boss in GWD, new weapons (chaotic), new skill (dungeoneering), but I'm sure there's many other things. If it helps I'm not really interested in non-combat changes (i.e. Herblore, Mining etc.) more of Slayer / combat / boss changes in general.

    Thanks!

  2. Pures should just not be allowed, then RS would be a more piecefull community, without all the pures running around calling people noobs for owning them.... :wall:

    Pures own teh noobs k?

    Nah but seriously stfu.

    RS is a war game.

RS would be a more piecefull community

    Make up your mind son.

his attitude exactly...if you had used your brain you would have known i meant peaceful in the way that people wont be calling others "noobs" every 10seconds when it got to PK. Pures are just pathetic. to stupid and idiotic to train more than one skill.... sad really.... :shame:

Eh, even though i have a maxed melee main i still enjoyed playing on a pure before, it was no way because I was too stupid to train more than one skill. It used a be an ok way to make money as well. I reallly dislike the way you generalise people. I do remember you asking for advice on how to make a "tank" account as well, which means in a sense, it's sad really, because you only train X skills.

Also if they pray i'd just leave, 1 vs 1 both praying is slow and boring, money and time wasting 8-)

  3. I had the mentality 99 def = godlike taking 0's a lot, although is the case for some monsters not for all >< I wanted to be unique, in that all my friends maxed out strength first. whilst i got defence. Strength and attack came naturally after, I couldn't get 99 in non combat skill tbh, i really enjoy melee and skilling seems too boring for me

  4. Item malls ruin games, before playing this i used to play Conquer Online a lot, but quit a year ago, as they introduced an update allowing any player with a big enough wallet to get the best gear without any effort, sure i bought a few things from there, but people spend 10k USD maxing their account out, they even brought out an update to level your character with buyable items and offline training.

Sure members do level faster, but the price is very small, and after all a 99 takes a bloody long time!

  5. I could afford all of them, but preffered my SGS. Quests which required food i'd just spec a monster nearby for hp. It was also very useful for barrows and monster hunting. But for slayer, i hard;y needed it with a bunyip out. AGS is too pricey imo for some extra damage, bandos was my first godsword and is ok for the small price, never tried zgs as i never pvp

  6. ok people. Here's my opinion

    1. SOME members don't have anythnig else better to do than play RS all their life. If you got the impression that I was calling all members losers with no life, I'm sorry you took it the wrong way and maybe I should have been more clear on the first post.

    2. SOME non-members have other things to do and don't want to put $5 into something they can't devote a whole lot of time to. Why should people harrass us for not paying when SOME of us don't play as much as SOME members. Like me. I only subscribe in the winter when I'm really not doing anything.

I hope that got my thought across.

You know every skill is faster in P2P, therefore less time spent achieving a goal. 1 guy gets 99 cooking f2p, take him 2 months, in p2p it takes him 1 month and 5$. Putting 5$ into something is hardly an investment, even if you only played for 10 days of the month you'd still get more done than a month on f2p.

Anyway, i find on p2p there's a lot of jerks who annoy people because their skill/gear isn't as high as theres, i didn't have this as much as when i was F2P, so F2P aren't scum. There's a lot more flaming in p2p, example GWD, when a team gets crashed, you'll get called nerd at least 2 times or something similar. In f2p theres not really much to argue about.

ALSO, the guy that said earlier, why do p2p when we get updates, because they do to, take F.o.G, the only useful item for me is the dragon slayer gloves, everything else can be beaten by a p2p item, so even if p2p gets the update as well, it's usually f2p related items, which are worse than its p2p equivalent

  7. imo, flat 80's you could do bandos and zammy only, i've never tried arma or sara myself so i can't really say weather you're ready or not, i wouldn't suggest them though, as in guides i've read and teams that go want usually 85+ range.

    WHAT ARE GOOD SIDES AND BAD SIDES OF EACH BOSS (INCLUDING HOW HARD IT IS TO GET TO THE BOSS;

    1-4, Easiest to hardest

    1; Zammy, kill the imps

    2; Bandos, kill the goblins

    3; Sara, kill the mages

4; Arma, kill aviansies? don't know if thats spelt right #-o

In terms of profit, it all depends, zammy is an easy boss when you're an attacker, but the drops aren't very good, so unless you get a hilt, you won't make much money from the lesser drops [steam staff and spear], bandos again is very easy when you're the attacker, but instead of rely'ing on the hilt drop you have the chestplate/tassets AND a hilt drop chance.

Sara i have no clue on drop rates but it only has 2 drops hilt and a sword, BUT the hilt is worth a large amount, making it worth going, same applies to arma except they also have a chest/skirt/helmet drop, so you aren't relying on the hilt.

Also, you said it doesn't make that much difference for getting 80/80, even with a godsword at 99 attack super set and piety i sometimes find i hit a lot of 0's, i have no idea how you will even hit any damage with that attack

  8. To be honest, if you "can" afford to pay for members, and chose not too [ :( ] for some stupid reason, and gain a certain level 100% F2P it's not an achievment at all..

    @Lordjake; Paying for p2p does make me feel better, i came across the max F2P total without even skilling a lot, 5 bucks for the same levels in 1/2 the time, also at your response to someone else in this thread;

"And if you think a quest cape will bring any type of respect, I feel sorry for you."

I feel sorry for all the people that think 100% f2p will bring any respect.. =D>

  9. I ended up doing 3 quests to unlock the mutated ones, and i don't regret it at all, sure a cannon can be costly as you use a tonne of cballs, but the ultra fast slayer xp makes up for it. If you don't feel comfortable using 1.5k cballs a task stick with slayer tower.

Also, if you can't afford the cballs, but can afford a few pray potions, just pray melee down there and let them attack, their hp is huge and you hit often and hard with a black mask/super set, it also saves clicking, and the mutated ones have no competition what so ever.

  10. Mine are:

    Hellhounds

    Greater Demons

    Steel Dragons

    Gargoyles

(hounds and demons are crowded with noobs and gargoyles are annoying with the hammer; steels take forever.) Also blocked are terrorbirds by quests.

    #

    I've blocked exactly the same

Also, baby black drags are pretty easy for black drag tasks, and the bones are worth a small bit too, fiends are great for charms and i at least break even from the pray pots used for them, and finally spectres are also good, drop a lot of herbs, and if you have a slayer ring you can kill until pray runs out>home tele>recharge>slayer ring to tower>up chain, and even staying there with pray pots i usually break even.

Try and block tasks you cannot bare or tasks which are too crowded to kill them fast
