I like how he is strangling him wit the whip

pretty sure that's a she, notice the boobs.

also I find it amusing how people think writing the word copyright on something means it's copyrighted. Sorry friends but it takes more than that to get a copyright.

Actually, it doesn't. In most countries you don't even have to write copyright on your work to have it protected...

Copyright gives the author of an original work exclusive right for a certain time period in relation to that work, including its publication, distribution and adaptation, after which time the work is said to enter the public domain. Copyright applies to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete and fixed in a medium. Some jurisdictions also recognize "moral rights" of the creator of a work, such as the right to be credited for the work. Copyright is described under the umbrella term intellectual property along with patents and trademarks.

Copyright has been internationally standardized, lasting between fifty to a hundred years from the author's death, or a shorter period for anonymous or corporate authorship. Some jurisdictions have required formalities to establishing copyright, but most recognize copyright in any completed work, without formal registration. Generally, copyright is enforced as a civil matter, though some jurisdictions do apply criminal sanctions.

Yup copyright is jsut basically a tiered thing and in msot countries doing nothing = copyright.

If you wrote/drew w/e something it is copyright to you, though virtually impossible to prove other than pc document data stamps and handwriting.

If you seal a copy in an envelope and post it yourself and keep it sealed. Postal laws prove ownership and therefore copyright.

If you write copyright on it its a proof of copyright.

Paid copyrights however are the top tier and withstand all legal situation, aside from being illegally copyrighted.

eg if some editted copyright off a pic and copyrighted it, then courts were show the original their overturn it regardless of legal copyright.

Or if someone published and copyrighted your manuscript but then you showed the court the sealed envelope with psot markings pre-dating the copyrighting and inside was the manuscript it'd get overturned.

Yes but who cares? The discussion is old gallery artwork, not the finer details of copyrighting...

It came up on the thread.

The guy in the quote above me threw the legal wording out, I thought I'd add on to that with the literal way it works, no harm in explaining it given that it came up on the thread.

    It's called getting Off Topic...

Anyway, I don't have any pics of my own but I'm interested to see any more of the older pictures :)

  2. I play runescape for the hot girls.

    You called? ;)

I really don't think he did.. Edit: and neither did I...

OT: I play Runescape just to get away from real life issues for a bit.. I don't really "immerse" myself into the game. I just play. Sure it's fun pretending to be some noble hero but in the end you have to go back to real life..

Sorry to be off topic, but when do you think it will be safe to do some PvM or something? :?

Errm, when the problem is resolved?

I guess my question is: when do you think it would be resolved... as in, is this a day or even week fix...

They'll most likely get bored after a day or two. Also remember, this is only happening to a US server so all none US worlds should be ok unless this becomes more serious.

Actually, it's happened on a few Canadian servers as well.

  4. You're fully welcome to pose alternative names.

Otherwise, please don't bother posting unless you have something constructive to add.

He's right you know.. They Are too similar in meaning. Also, his post was constructive seeing as it called to attention the fact that they are similar in meaning. Try changing the names? I'm not one for making up names so I'll leave it to you.

and we don't Really need any more shields do we? We already have four extremely rare, and in my opinion, overpriced shields... If you're saying the sigils would all come from the Corporeal Beast it would just drive prices up even higher. It's a nice idea but the wrong time to implement or even think of implementing it.

I think this update was great, and all that was needed for this week. Small little updates that make a world of difference in everyday game play.

Sometimes I feel like players don't realize how spoiled they were with Jagex's past updating.

Only a few years ago, players would be lucky if they received one updating a MONTH. Nowadays players are update hungry and complain even if an update is on a Tuesday rather than a Monday every week.

I think you should be grateful for getting any updates at all, as most online MMORPG's don't update even half or 1/10 times as often as RuneScape does. We don't really need a Godsword and a Huge Quest/Minigame every single week, as all those updates overwhelm us over time. But some of you are complaining just that, that we don't get a new Godsword and Minigame every week.

There are millions of activities in RuneScape to do. Don't limit yourself just to New Updates to keep you satisfied.[/rant]

But, this is a very lackluster update. The bank tabs and search engine released last year was a true improvement- this is just a piddling little tweak that has a minimalistic impact on the gaming experience. When I heard this was going to be a fix-it/improvement year, I was pleased. But the largest improvement released so far was the Random Removal- something promised early last year. Or maybe even in December 07. The only other that came close was the removal of the censor and I have very mixed feelings about that.

And saying that other games don't update nearly as frequently is not a good idea. As anyone who compares Runescape to another game in a negative way can attest, players constantly say Runescape is not other games. If we want to go that route, why not ask why Runescape's combat is so antiquated compared to WoW or AoR? Or why other games have free markets and we don't? And so on and so forth.

Although I agree we don't have the need for something big EVERY week, the content updates I've seen recently have been... repugnant to me. The only quest of the year was a tutorial for a new Distraction, and the rest were minigames and more Distractions. True, we're only two months in, but so far I've been very disappointed and have seen no reason to renew membership. And this glorified patch does nothing to change that.

There have been a good number of extremely helpful tweaks and fixes this year, and I believe Brianite's main point was that we can't expect a big update every week. Do you really play Runescape for the updates? There's already an overwhelming amount of things to do in this game. Unless you're maxed, played and "beat" every minigame (4k Chompy kills, CW gold armor, etc), have your quest cape, can solo every boss sans CB, and own an Elysian/Divine shield, I see no reason to complain that we didn't get horses this week.

But huge chunks of the content don't appeal to me- I have no need to max my stats, and "beat" every minigame. I play Runescape for fun and, if content has no appeal to me, I see little reason to indulge in it. Plus, without any BTS to show future content, I have no idea when or if any future updates will make up for current lackluster updates like this, which are naught but an afterthought to the truly amazing bank re-haul of last year.

^ I really don't understand why you feel the need to complain about this weeks update. If you don't like it then don't use it. Let Jagex do what they want with their game. Oh, and ctrl+f "lackluster" in your last three posts pl0x.

OT:I haven't been on to check it out yet but it seems like a very useful update  Great for both skillers and fighters =D> I do hope they come out with the 150th quest next week though. I can't wait!
