  1. I've read some of the arguments and not going to take the time to read them all as I almost never go on these forums, but I see one thing that you all seem to be missing. It may have been said, but true efficiency would be doing everything on your own. Of course, this my my own opinion but I see efficiently playing RS as training all skills at nearly the same rate and using the benefits from one skill to help out another. I use the GE only when I have a drop from slayer that I know I won't use later on or when I'm not able to get something myself because I don't have the level for it.

Oh, and if you say my skills don't show this, to an extent they do but I have only had this viewpoint for about a year after having taken a break for about two years so all my skills before could have been a bit off.

I also see that getting everything on your own is the most fun way to play the game, to me it is but that is just me. People get too worked up over the most trivial of things, I said to my friend while chatting with him at the GE "It makes no sense to have a second account or a pure" and I got at least four people ragging at me that pures are more fun and that their main pwns me. I responded that it makes no sense to have more than one account if your first is not maxed in everything, and since no one is maxed 200m exp in anything, no one should use a second account. All in all it was a point of view I stated to my friend and then got a bad response from others. While I may not see why people do things, they do and that is part of human nature and that should never be changed (Also another view of my own, there are people who would change that). There will always be at least two sides to an opinion.

Sorry if that got a little out of track and random, looks fine to me but I'm not really focused right now.

  2. Basically, I make class 4 arrows from whatever skill there is a class 4 of (That's why my skilling pays off...) and one of whatever tool it uses. I wait 'til I have about 1.5 k arrows, then I rush back and deposit them because I don't have very high summoning yet. With this tactic, I usually end up with 40k points 7 minutes into the game, and by the end of the game if there is no haters out there killing me, I have around 85-100k points. Oh, my favorite tactic of all time is to watch Madgamer2 do all the work, I only did this on the first day it came out (I was lucky enough to be on for the update, and then he was there, so heh).

  3. Ok, wtf is up with this? Is it a glitch? Look at the pic:

I'm a little pissed that they took two of my spots that I always get, but at the same time wondering how they got four million clay... MUST be a glitch.

Oh, and at pulli23, no, that is not deterring me. I still have 12 proto tools and am going for more.

Fun game, but it feels... hollow. The reason, I think, is that the rewards, quite frankly, are abysmal. And not like the whip. The armors are the equivalent of the F2P tops and Mystics. The tools appear to be glitchy and the pick axe appears to mine at the rate of the lowest level. Even if the hatchet cuts at the rate of a rune axe, we already have dragon, though it is an expensive alternative.

Aside from this, without getting any experience for gathering and crafting, it truly feels like I'm wasting my time. And because of this, I find it hard to fathom why Jagex would give combat experience. Heck, they called this a game for skillers AND killers, but in many games it's the fighters who truly dominate.

The third problem is that Jagex seems a little out of touch with their player base. They seem to forget that the majority of players with high combat levels also have high skill totals. So, instead of the symbiotic relationship they imagined, we have self sufficient fighters capable of doing everything and skillers who make easy targets while their services prove unnecessary.

I predict that Jagex is going to tweak this game in the next couple of weeks with bug fixes, better rewards, some experience for skilling, and more regularity of resources, i.e. there is always going to be at least one of every resource on the map.

P.S. What happened to shields? They'd bring benefit to mages and melee'ers. Plus, they could add crossbows along with it, allowing a bit more flexibility for rangers.

For most players, yeah the reward stink. However they look pretty awesome and its not hard to get them.

The fighters do control a lot of this game, but the good skillers may find a way around it. I personally set up barriers (need 2 more lvls till lvl 3 barrier). Actually, one just really needs to have like 3 40+ same type skills to get around enough, and higher levels do even better. I, personally, tend to just go around and get all the clay I can. I build barriers, then get higher level clay and make stuff and barriers. Then when the opoosing team attacks, I bind them and use spells. If there is enough commotion, I pickpocket runes and such  My skills are not particularly high, but with a plan, this can get point. The ones who dominate the game are the ones who get their points

just incase, get a good 100k points and wait it out.

100k points isn't that hard to get, I racked up 275k in three games. Just FYI since I don't think you've played it yet. Oh, and I hope JaGeX doesn't make it so you can only have one of the proto tools, THAT would tick me off since I have about 8 right now.

  5. Ok, it has actually gotten me into making chain maille (The old English way to spell i, and the right way in my opinion). I haven't even had Economics yet, but I already know all about it. I have developed a sort of internal compass that I did not have before (In game and out). I know a lot of math (Not from RS, but thought I'd put it there). I can read a lot faster know because of having to search for people's message in and around the Grand Exchange. It has also helped me to just chill out and relax without doing anything tedious to get to that point. That's all I can think of right now, I will edit this when I think of more things.

    Edit:

I learned the word Adamant from RS, I made a friend IRL from RS (Shh... Don't tell, but I actually found them at school after I had found them on RS). I have gotten very much into computers. I have learned what to put my money towards every month. That's pretty much all that I can remember that I've learned from RS.

  6. Ok, I'm going to try for 99 cooking, and in the while I'll make about 50 million gp. will not just cook all the time, I may take fishing breaks, or hunting breaks. Whatever levels I gain, that I can screen capture in time, I will post here. While I am going for this goal, and after I have accomplished it, I will be posting any advice I have in the cooking skill related areas. I might start a contest on a later date to see if anyone can guess what I'm cooking that is going to earn me 50 million gp, and I would give a generous prize to whoever guessed it, but that's not started yet, so don't answer it if you know.

  7. I just did it with a rune c'bow and iron bolts. This is how I did it: make yew stock anywhere (He doesn't allow knives in there), bring runite limbs, hammer, bow string, Iron Bolts (u), and enough feathers to flight the bolts! I just got the sword! So this is a glitch that they have not fixed (C'bow and bolts). Cool.
