  1. i dont mean to be annoying, but i just wondered about cutting yews in the gnome stronghold with adze and banking. i heard yews are barely slower than willows and you get lots of xp per burnt log so should have a highish firemaking xp. i would test for you, but i lost membership 3 days ago and i dont have an adze, which is a problem im workin on f2p with yews and a few tinderboxes :)

  2. mining pure ess is no investment though, and wont help you to make more money. fishing is pretty slow at any level for money but flyfish for experience, monks for money/xp, sharks for money. i dont know lobster figures (seemed so slow in f2p), but you catch bout 400 monks in an hour at 95 fish + ibis. 250 at 80+

if you cant fish monks do swords/tuna, i reckon thats better xp and same money.

  3. so bedman that means your own account should reflect that. i like all skills, and i dont have 99 cook/fletch/fm mainly because i cant be bothered and i might be the only runescape player who still thinks its hard to get them to 99. what most of the haters are saying is it would be an awesome 99 if only a few people had it, but the more who get it the worse it becomes or the less useful it gets.

fact is, in runescape you have all these skills. the higher your firemaking the better your character is in that skill, the higher your slayer the better your character is in that skill. makes no difference what skill it is - you can argue all day but you arent going to have 99 in all skills but firemaking are you, might as well train them all and if firemaking is what comes first good on ya. and by the way, i fished my own 25k monkfish and now im cooking them, when i eventually get 99 fish then 99 cook will i be looked down on for wearing my cooking cape even though i fished them all myself, or laughed at for fishing them all myself when i could have just bought them.

oh and its the people with 99s in the first place who encouraged every tom [bleep] and harry to have a 99 or no one would respect them, whereas i think 1600+ total level takes a long time and gives a lot of variety.

  4. took me 1200 to bronze, i now have 6 rune defenders and wear 1 constantly while fighting, unless i got my guthans on :). it's worth it and good experience, not the fastest but alch your drops and bank your bones, decent money for a poor person.

  5. I think combat level should be the ultimate "trump card", if mine is higher you have to go no matter how long you where there.

Then of course skill total would be next, if combat levels are equal.

Failing that, the players prayer levels should come into account.

Then the level of the actual skill being used.

Finally, if all those are even I guess whomever got there first should get to stay...

no, what if someone has 198m experience in mining, and you come along with maxed combat stats and prayer? level of actual skill should be over a combat level.

i agree with platinum, i mine gold in brimhaven and people world hop to find a free world. i do the same. fishing has no problems even when cooking became a popular 99, silly monkfish fishers :).

even said, i think you should find something else to do if its too crowded, hunting red chinchompas got busy so i gave up, it just isnt fun anymore.

  6. have you tried putting your house in brimhaven, i tele there and mine full load + terrorbird with varrock armour 2. at level 75 the rocks only spawn fast enough on a populated world, the crafting guild is too slow. i dont know what level guild comes to slow and brimhaven becomes more efficient. ill post back times etc...i use the first tab on bank and scroll to where my house runes are so it never changes and use duelling ring cos bank is only one click. doesnt seem to be crowded on any worlds now because of stars being added.

  7. if people wanna buy 99 cooking great for them, if your moaning that ruins the economy then fish your own fish then cook them which makes that problem disappear for you. ive tried cooking the 9k monks i fished in 1 go and gave up after 5k of them so anyone who got 99 cooking must have grinded for days - props to them. i play for fun, if im not enjoying something i stop doing it. i dont play runescape to be bored and eventually i will get a 99, but as long as im having fun i dont care what my levels are. 13m experience just doesnt sound that fun to me. also moneymaking skills are still there, you just have to train 2 skills now for it. farm and herblore = profit, fish and cook = profit, woodcut and fletch = profit, mine and smith = profit. i think the ge ruined rs because stuff is to easy to get a hold of, that said i still use it but i would prefer runescape without some big building where anything is possible to find instantly. and if you say im just moaning for the sake of it and hopping on the bandwagon or that i shouldnt use the ge you should try finding buyers and sellers away from the ge.

  8. ok let me join in, im pro slayer and heres why.

slayer gives variety, rewards and opens new monsters to train on. also if you only concentrate on completing task after task and getting slayer xp you will also train 1 - your combat skill of choice, 2 - hitpoints, 3 - summoning (via charm collecting), 4 - prayer with d bones and b bones, 5 - a buyable skill. 5 is meant as the profit you get from slaying can be put towards a buyable skill such as smithing/cooking/prayer or something. you also get many other

when training with the black mask you get +15 attack and strength bonus (i think). combine this with the salve amulet against spectres you get a nice fat bonus making the task go pretty fast.

it introduces you to new monsters you might not discover yourself and new areas. this is a bonus as iron/steel dragons were assigned to me and i think they are great prayer xp and fun way to train.

danger and variety makes a nice change from grinding out levels with yaks/bandits/zombie monkeys/whatever. with slayer you begin to enjoy training and the odd level 3 clue makes huge profits possible.

when you get 99 in every skill but slayer what are you going to do?

that to me seems like a pretty convincing post to why slayer doesnt suck. i would say woodcutting, fishing, mining, smithing, herblore, farming, fletching, hunting, firemaking, theiving, crafting and agility are all less interesting than slaying and the only skills that beat it are construction as you get to build your own house and summoning as you get a follower and pets. of course, quests remain the best thing of the game.

  9. Question, do you get extras for tuna and swordfish or for just tuna. otherwise good info in guide but needs to be laid out slightly better as well as spelling and grammar. Try running it through spellcheck on word. (if you have it) 7/10.

something like 5 tuna to every 1 swordfish, and u only need to go there once a day and chop 1 maple and the guy will tell you not to bother anymore. not hard.

  10. Great guide!

I did a computer course a couple of months ago and they gave us a list of things to do to help prevent RSI.

    Here goes:

Always sit in a straight backed chair and sit up. Your knee and hips should be at right angles. the screen should be at least 60cm away from your eyes. Your elbows should be at a right angle, and your upper arms should go straight down. Every hour take a walk around the room, every 2-3 hours take a walk around the block.

    Hope that helps!

u'd have a field day with me, i dont think i do one of those suggestions and im fine. id much rather be comfy than safe.

  11. This definitely deserves a bump.

The information isn't available anywhere else.

I'm wondering why this isn't AOW'd, or even part of a tip.it site guide

The only inaccuracy I found reading through it was that you need to maintain your favour at 100%, not just refill it before you collect.

he meant refill the coffers with cash, so that it always has at least 750k at the time the workers get paid otherwise you are not as efficient. of course everyday go help a lil.
