  1. Hey there,

First off, for my action bar, I tend to use:

    - Sonic wave

    - Combust

    - Wrack

    - Dragon breath

    - Impact

    - Wild magic

    - Asphyxiate

    - Any damaging ultimate

    - Guthix's blessing

    - Freedom

Last two are free for whatever. I'd suggest not using Chain because you sometimes hit multiple Glacors and have a bit of trouble on your hands.

Next then, either ovl or extreme magic potions work well, so that's up to you.

Seeing as you can't use Soul Split yet, use protection prayers going along with the arms on the Glacor.

definitely use fire wave until you have access to fire surge. I'm not sure about xp/hr with fire wave, but I'd assume roughly 150k.

Unfortunately I don't have invy pictures, so I'll just tell you what I use:

    - 1 hour of potions (3 ovl, and whatever you find you need in terms of prayer potions for that time)

    - 50-100 high alchemy casts

    - charming imp (not necessary)

    - 10 food (monks or higher would be best)

To save on prayer/food, bring an aura with you.

Gl with them! Feel free to pm me in game - NealolaeN

  2. As everyone here said, Glacors are excellent xp. I did roughly 89-99 magic at those having done 94-99 once EoC was already in game. They give you around 3.5k magic experience per kill and it is easily possible to get 60+ kills per hour even in pretty cheap gear (I did most of it using Arma bstaff with subju robes). This easily translates to 210k magic xp/hr. I've heard of people getting 100 kills per hour as well having invested in high level gear which means a whopping 350k xp/hr. The charms are also excellent since they drop 3 charms at a time with the majority of them being crimson or blue.

Unfortunately, basically any good monsters have fairly substantial quest requirements so if you want to access the best training spots, you'll have to do quite a bit of other leveling but it is well worth it in the end.

    Gl!

  3. Good guide m8!

Some other things it might be good to comment on are the re-spawn rate of the KQ so that players will know whether it's really worth doing multiple kills per trip. Another thing that players could find useful is the use of summoning familiars. (Is it better to use a BoB or a healing familiar like a unicorn?)

You could also show alternate routes to KQ such as the broomstick that teleports a player to the sorcerer's garden which is just outside the Shanty Pass or else the use of a fairy ring.

Further gear upgrades could also be good or else downgrades for those who are strapped for cash. Likewise, a suggested levels part could also be good and maybe even a section about using magic for killing it.

Hope you keep adding to this guide as you improve methods!

  4. This method isn't that quick since it requires lots of questing, however, if you just meant fast exp once you start using magic, then I would suggest finishing TONS of quests and doing Ritual of the Mahjarrat. First off, there are lots of quest rewards along the way which you can use on magic, and this quest unlocks Glacors which I have found to be one of the best monsters for both magic xp and money in game. They just require some practice at first when you start to kill them.

Again though, if you meant fast xp right this second, then this isn't the method for you.

  5. I'm level 77 RC; I got 5082xp for handing him the requested blood runes. (Are you sure that the xp for requested runes is always the same, and doesn't change according to the type of rune requested?)

Edit: And 4735 when giving blood runes without them being requested.

Hey there Sorator, thanks for the data! I'll add it right away.

As for the xp per requested rune, it's always the same since at level 81 rc, I gave the requested rune every time and got 5346 xp per time regardless of whether it was deaths that were requested or minds requested.

    ~NealolaeN~

  6. Just to expand on what has already been said, Blood Esswraiths give 73xp per successful siphon and 3 points per blood rune. Death esswraiths give 60xp per successful siphon and (I think) 2-3 points per death rune. Blood Pools meanwhile give 146-147 per successful siphon. If you haven't already noticed, the single-rune nodes give double the experience per siphon than the creatures do.

I hope you don't mind me saying this, but if you do, tell me and I'll take it off if you find it's advertising of my own topic. Anyways, on my topic "Runespan Experience", I'm trying to find experience rates for wizards and the info may come in handy for some things in your guide.

Seems like an awesome guide so far though, keep up the good work!

    ~NealolaeN~

  7. Hey there everyone,

Attention anyone reading this. I could really use help in getting what I assume will be the final 2 data amounts to have a complete list from 20-99 Runecrafting. Anybody with 64 and 65 Runecrafting, please consider going to The Runespan and waiting for 10 minutes or so and give the wizard the rune he is asking for. Then please make a post with your RC level and the exact amount of experience you got at that level. It would be very greatly appreciated! Thank you!

So far I have yet to see an actual table of experience gained per wizard at each runecrafting level. I found this would be very interesting and possibly a great way to improve xp/hour since are levels at which one may consider not hunting the wizard anymore because the time spent getting that xp is superior to the normal amount of time spent for the same xp.

Seeing as I'm already level 85 runecrafting and only started recording this data at 79, I'll need YOU, my fellow Tip.it-ers to help me gain a good picture of the experience per wizard. Simply tell me what Runecrafting level you are and how much experience you received from the wizard for the "best rune" as in the one the wizard asks for. Thank you! Hope this experience guide helps you out.

NEW - Complete re-work of xp tables. Will now show experience for the "best" rune in one table and another table will be below this one showing the experience for different types of runes.

    Wizard Xp Rates

So far, I've had a few friends helping me and I'm looking to confirm these numbers as well as add all other levels. An interesting thing about wizard xp rates is that there is a sudden jump in xp/wizard at level 77 using the rune the wizard asks for.

Level - Experience with “best” rune

    7 - 14

    8 - ?

    10 - ?

    11 - 22

    12 - ?

    13 - ?

15 - 60 Most likely another xp jump here

    16 - 64

    17 - 68

    18 - 72

    19 - 76

20 - ? Xp jump here most likely

    21 - 294

22 - 308 <-- at these levels, the experience is actually the SAME if you use either the highest rune (being body runes which must be bought to be used) or the “best” rune.

    23 - 322

    24 - 336

    25 - 350

    26 - 364

    27 - 378

    98 - 7448

    99 - 7524

Oddly enough, experience for the “best” rune continued with 2 xp improvement per level until at least level 11, with it likely continuing until level 14. This would mean that from 1-14, the xp for the “best” rune improves by 2 per level.

For levels 15-19, the xp per level improves by 4 for the “best” rune.

Based on all the data from 20-54, the xp improves by 14 for each level for the “best” rune.

As for the experience from at least levels 68-76, the xp improves by 28 xp per level for the “best” rune.

From 77-89, for the “best” rune it improves by 66 xp per level this compares to blood runes which increase at a rate of 60 xp per level, meaning from now on it's better to give the “best” rune.

At level 90, there's another experience jump where it starts improving by 76 xp per level for the “best” rune.

I would also like to get experience rates from 60-67 since I'm assuming there is another jump at 65 with the addition of death runes.

Formulas for wizard experience as found so far.

1 - 11? Or higher? with “best” rune:

    Level x 2

    15 - 19 with “best” rune:

    Level x 4

    20 - 54 with “best” rune:

    Level x 14

Under 77 most likely from 65, using “best” rune:

    Level x 28

    77- 89, using “best” rune:

    Level x 66

90 and up, using “best” rune:

    Level x 76

HUGE thanks to all people who have participated in helping me gather research. Would have been extremely long trying to gain all the data points on my own so far. So keep the data coming! Every bit helps, whether to confirm data or to add new data!

  8. Another interesting thing to test out would be the amount of magic defense you naturally get just from your magic level since Jagex states that as your magic level increases, so too do your magical defenses.

If that's the case, then you may want to try doing tests using different magic levels as well so that your data will be even more complete. For example, have a person with 99 mage vs 99 mage, followed by 99 mage vs 90 mage and so on until you get a very good idea of the effects magic equipment defenses play while fighting.

  9. I'm not sure if I'm quite following what you're all talking about, but using polypore staff is a very good method, usually averaging about 410 max damage at 90 mage with overload (brings mage up to 97). Also, polypore is a [fairly] fast hitting weapon, and most of the time it WILL hit the required 300 damage in just one attack turn to switch it from melee to magic prayer.

Because of this, both weapons I use deal about the same amount of damage which I figure is probably one of best things about this method since you don't need to worry about which style is getting the majority of damage dealing time.

I don't know how this stands up to other people, but with average-ish skills (96 atk/99 str/90 mage) I'm taking down a little over 2 demons per overload dose.

Again, I'm not sure if this is quite what you wanted, but this is what I have noticed so far using polypore staff with CLS as melee weapon.

  10. Hey Kent

Glacors are now one of the best charm droppers in the game, especially for blues. This is because it is easy to kill 30+ per hour, they drop 3 charms at a time, and blue charms are the most common from them. And even better, they drop charms nearly every kill (about 4 kills no charms per 30 kills i think).

Anyways, you should really consider adding this to your guide next time you update.

Thanks for the amazing guide, NealolaeN :)

  11. There is really only 1 way to describe this guide... AMAZING! Learned tons, and used the info from it to write out my own farming run so I never have to think to myself "ok now what do I need for these?" again! Honestly, I don't think there's anything you could possibly add to make this better. Now then, it's time i get my farming hat on! :D

  12. I honestly believe this is a great idea, seeing as personally I've never been that interested in the party stuff. Also, I may be willing to host a Bandos run from time to time (rarely most likely).

It'll be even nicer that people will be hosting at all times of day, or so I think I read. Because all too often I miss the events because I'm in the wrong time zone and have things going on.

Anyways, can't wait to see how this turns out! Best of luck TMHT! :D

  13. Thanks for the idea Aslan, I'm trying that right now so that I can give Amaterix more times. I'd say that from the looks of it, it'd be best to get an empty world so that low levels don't take the logs. Also, I think you should once again try and memorize the area to always click in advance.

On that note, here are my times

    - 1:19 (already faster... but you still lose 1 inventory space, so we'll see)

    - 1:18

    - 1:18

    - 1:17

    - 1:17

    Average * around 1:18

From this time, it shows that at Lumbridge bank lighting fires, you can bet you can do at least 46 loads an hour if you get similar times. Now for the XP/hour, first keep in mind you will be cooking 27 food per load (you have a tinderbox), meaning 1242 food per hour. Now you take whichever kind of fish you are using and do the amount of xp per fish times 1242. For tuna, that would mean 100*1242=124200 xp/hour.

In other words, that means you can actually get better xp here than in Al-Kharid. Plus, you will be getting small amounts of firemaking xp! However, you may find it more annoying since you need to do more clicks to do everything.

One more thing I noticed is that you can't click the "Bank all held items" button since you must keep your tinderbox out. Also, just thinking about it, I thought that since you must make all the fires, you may have to start off with a slightly higher firemaking level so that it doesn't take you too long to make a fire each time.

*Helpful hint, you can keep using the same log spot since it will burn out and respawn by the time you bank.

    ~~`''\ Nealo23 /''`~~

  14. Kaida23, I'm glad you liked it, I think the time per load with a fire you make yourself will actually be pretty close to Al-Kharid. I tried a few more fish earlier and I found that it takes approximately 2 seconds per fish to cook, meaning the *minumum* time per load is 56 seconds if I timed right. Plus, xp/hour rates may be lower just because of the fact that you lose 2 inventory spaces per load making a fire, which means with tuna, you'd be losing 200xp per load which gets substantial after an hour.

Once again I may have this slightly wrong, but if I do more rates and such for you, I will try to be as accurate as possible.

    ~~`''\ Nealo23 /''`~~

*Edit* ~ Also, if you decide to put xp per hour rates, remember to put different approximate xp rates for each of the good spots... For spots in F2P, may I suggest testing Lumbridge, G.E. with using fires made by people training firemaking, G.E. making fires yourself, and Al-Kharid.

And one last thing, for your guide, I believe anchovies are F2P as well meaning that you can show those for both members and non-members for the first few levels. Also, once again for the F2P part, you could put tuna for the 95-99 part, they are cheap enough (currently checking prices and at mid there is a 23GP price difference between the cooked version and the uncooked version) which means you are gaining 20 more XP per fish cooked for only a loss of around 23GP per fish.

Hope this will help out a lot!

  15. Hey mate, first off, since you were talking about burning and such, could I suggest using Tip.It's cooking tables for the levels at which you no longer burn food.

As for cooking places in F2P, while going for 99 cooking I tried a multitude of places (never bothered with Lumbridge).

First off i tried the G.E., it is quite good since as you know there are ALWAYS people firemaking, meaning that you just need to take a few steps and you've got a cooking fire. However, this isn't the best option since after a while fires burn out, which means you have to either wait for the person to make a new one, or run to find another.

Another way i tried was making my own fires. This also worked pretty well since you get both cooking and firemaking XP, and you never have to move to go cook, but once again they burn out.

Finally, I went to Al-Kharid, where I stayed from probably 74 to 99 cooking. Here are some facts about this place... You never have to turn run off with the new updates (you recharge while you cook) ~ do NOT quote me on this since i only did 6 sample runs, but so far it worked everytime.

Here are some times from runs that I'm doing with no armour with only a full load of uncooked food.

From this time, it shows that at Al-Kharid, you can bet you can do at least 41 loads an hour if you get similar times. Now for the XP/hour, first keep in mind you will be cooking 28 food per load, meaning 1148 food per hour. Now you take whichever kind of fish you are using and do the amount of xp per fish times 1148. For tuna, that would mean 100*1148=114800 xp/hour.

Also, since you're going to be waiting for a bit while you cook every time, you can make it go faster by putting your mouse over where the buttons are going to appear when you click. Also always use the "Empty your backpack into your bank" button instead of wasting precious seconds to move your mouse over. Since you will be doing so many runs, you will soon have all this by heart, which means you can then just concentrate on speed and xp rates.

In F2P, I went the long way and I cooked tuna until 92 cooking at which time i switched to swordfish, this resulted in an approximate loss of around 2-3M GP, and to me getting from 68-99 cooking in a little under a month.

I hope this will help your guide, I'm sorry if it seems I am stealing your thread to make a small guide of my own, but i'm just giving you the raw facts of F2P cooking.
