  1. The only silver lining to being hacked is they can't take your skills. You're not starting over, it's not like you're level three. This isn't too minimize what happened; it sucks, but it's not the end of Gielinore.

  2. This is by far the dumbest rant thread ive ever sean... Do you realise there are tons of rws players that dont speak perfect english....

COS THATS NOT THEyR FIRST LANGUAGE>>>>>>>> *sigh*

That's why this is so important. I know from studying French that I'd have a worse time of it if I had to translate it into French first.

  3. @ cjm: in a way, jagex doesn't exactly own this game, the community does. If noone played runescape, would it still exist? Runescape is made possible through people playing, and jagex trying to satisfy OUR needs. They should be grateful that we still play, seeing as every time this game gets close to balanced, they go off and destroy a big chunk of it.

This kind of consumerism is absolute bs. Runescape is made by jagex and remains their property. "In a way" there would be no community for you to expect jagex to pander to (because the game they made is "ours?!?") if they hadn't made it. Markets are producer driven, not consumer driven. Without producers there is nothing to consume. So try to demand changes to a game that doesn't exist and see how far you get.

*Sorry to go so far off topic, but the OT is essentially moot now that one can toggle the filter settings.

  4. I agree with the rant as far as basic grammar and proper usage; however, personally, I also have problems with the misuse of certain words based on their connotations, rather than their denotations. If we start down this path, where do we draw the line?

  5. While it was a noob question, it was a legitimate question as well. I really did want to know why they made the doors, and if you didn't notice I attempted to make my rant less...."ranty" than usual.

Now you're just seeing what you expect to see from me, you're no longer reading my posts. Good job on my part

In that case, perhaps the general forum would have been a better place to post this? Just a thought.

  6. sorry to be rude but this guide is very general and isn't that useful.

i suggest adding more p2p monsters, as this is a p2p guide. these include experiements, those unicorn-cows, as well as quests that give exp, equipment suggested, etc.

overall, id give it a 2.5/10

And that's being very generous as it's a p2p guide and only 2 of the monsters listed are p2p. Maybe replace those two and make it an f2p guide?

*grabs box o' popcorn again* Time to watch more fighting! Yay!

That's sad that people can EXPECTto see a flame war anytime you two come into contact. It's pretty sad that people can't post on a thread because you two are too busy fighting. Expect the expected....

Pie no thread is complete without your witty remarks.

It's sad that you don't see what Pie is actually trying to convey. Once again, expect the expected.

I said that for humor, and to convey that this really is ridiculous. Almost every rant on this page regarding people thinking Jagex has messed up has turned into a quelmotz/canadiansmurf war zone.

    according to eatrunearrow's rant

No...I cannot believe anyone would even say that...that's pathetic. Eatrunearrow, for anyone who doesn't know, is the dumbest troll known to TIF. We don't ever quote his words... Except for the sake of humor. Quote him seriously, and expect to get looks of "What on earth are you smoking?

The problem is, while the ranters are a small part of the population, they're a noisy part.

And they all seem to find TIF :? Not all of them, thank God. check out the RSOF rants forum. It's hilarious chaos.

I can't defend Jagex? Give me a good reason why I shouldn't. Look - why don't YOU stop attacking Jagex then? And attacking everyone who defends Jagex?

I agree no one has ever written a law that says that you can't defend Jagex, hell I can, he can, but you and your little "Jagex hate" buddies can't hold up your own arguments. Oh, they hold them up. They just don't hold them up well. It's like taking a wooden shield and thinking it'll defend you against a battalion of tanks.

    Runescape is real life!!!

One would think so sometimes the way people go off about it.

  9. If you do not like what Jagex is doing with their property, you can just simply leave. You have all the free will to do just about anything you want in cyberspace. But to still come around and whine just about everything in the world is quite annoying, but entertaining. I will be honest and say that it will be a sad day when all these whiners realize that this is not a democracy. The only say you have about Jagex's business practice is not to participate in a game you have deemed "unplayable" anymore. If you hate it so much, please do us a favor and stop playing and make a REAL statement. As soon as Jagex notices a DROP in their bottomline, then they will react and maybe listen to get you back and reel in your cash.

To be honest, the "ranters" about the "bad" decisions that Jagex makes is just a smaller portion of the whole Runescape population. For every one of you, there are dozens who are content to play the game. So do us a favor, shut up and quit, because that is the only way to get Jagex to even acknowledge your existence is to not exist in their revenue.

    Well said.

Indeed. The problem is, while the ranters are a small part of the population, they're a noisy part.

Exactly. What makes more noise - a dozen fireworks, or 300,000 pounds of plastic explosive with no trigger sitting in Antarctica?

Also going along with that analogy, if Jagex does something to set off the 300,000 pounds of plastic explosive, (like nerfing Strength....) they're going to feel something. Hard.

    What?

  11. Quel seems to jump to Jagex's defense a lot, doesn't he? Always in there saying things like "Jagex did that for a reason," or "It's not Jagex's fault most of the players are either whiny little brats that complain about not getting handed max level on a platter, or cheaters."

The sad thing is Quel is right. Most of his posts are factual, and can be verified from the official Jagex site. And most players are whiny little brats or cheaters. At least the ones that "tear apart" Quel's posts by saying absolutely nothing, and then defending it with even less.

It's like a little kids' nursery school here sometimes the way that people like to "tear apart" factual, well though-out posts by pointing their noses in the air and saying "Nuh-uh!"

  12. This isn't an issue for me, as I still need to do most of the quests. I haven't even done all the f2p quests yet.

I'm sure after I've played this character for a few more months and have the skills to do more quests, I'll probably have this complaint too. It seems that the quests that have been around for a while are great, but the new ones fail to live up to their standards. Maybe by the time I'm doing them they'll be better.

  13. I understand that they can roam in groups, but I've been doing wilderness clues for almost a year now and it's never hit me until today. Heck it took me 4 world hops to finally find a world safe enough to dig at the spot I needed. I'm not normally one to jump to conclusions, but it seems odd to me that I'd go so long without having that much trouble. :?

Maybe you've just been lucky? I haven't done any level three clues, and I don't go into the wilderness much (at my level there's not really any reason to), so I don't know if they're any more or less organized than before.

  14. Let me give you a quick economics lesson. There are two major forms of economics in the world, capitalism and socialism. (I know there are others, but for this example the two "biggies" work.)

In a capitalist society the best comes out on top. Due to the nature of competition, only those people who can be more competitive can win in the long run, by undercutting, altering supply and demand, etc. Some of these tricks are legitimate and encourage free market, and some are dirty and manipulate the system. They all work to make "the best man win."

In a socialist society, everyone is equal. Everyone does the same amount of work and recieves the same rewards. This never works, because people are by nature lazy, manipulative and whiny, so they prefer to sit back and let others work for them. Those that do work resent the treatment and soon stop, so the entire economy collapses.

(I realize I've oversimplified a bit, but I think the definitions are accurate enough to move on to the point:)

Now, the Runescape economy aside, the rest of the game is designed to be capitalist. The player with the highest level (and fastest connection) is going to get most of the kills. There are three things that can be done about this:

    1. You can go to a different area, or a different world and continue killing in peace.

    2. You can improve your level, or alter you form of combat to allow yourself to continue to be competitive, or

    3. You can complain about "your" kills being "stolen," come to tif and rant about players of higher level performing better than you, then wait until Jagex paints runescape red.

Either of the first two will work and allow you to continue enjoying the game. The third option, the one you seem to have chosen, is the only incorrect one.

  15. Rule 1 of MMORPGs:

Anyone worse than you is a noob, anyone better than you has no life.

And anyone equal to you, well you'd be able to p0wn them if you didn't have to go eat dinner right now.

Or you could pwn them on your main, which strangely nobody ever sees... :-s

  16. I can't remember anyone ever calling me a nerd, practically everyone I meet usually ends up saying "friends?" (seriously, it's kind of weird). Are you F2P?

The problem with that is that those "friends" can get expensive when they turn out to be beggars.

  17. This isn't a story, it's an accurate depiction of exactly how everything went.

You can babble on, but these things caused huge imbalances in RS. It was all so much better before these dreadful, ill-considered, sloppy, low quality updates.

I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason you remind me of the grandpa from the Rugrats.

Oooooooooh, you're so clever. You're so witty. You're so sophisticated. Is that what you wanted to hear? Are you satisfied? Then piss off.

You and your little pals can keep spewing your sloppy arguments, and i'll keep tearing them apart cannonballs tear through wet cardborad.

Was there ever an inbalance before a certain few updates? No. Was there so much idiocy and ignorance and stupidirty in this game before miniclip? No. And, before that particular bad update, did jag have to spend so much time "fixing" pvp? No.

People are trying to personally attack Eatrunearrow in order to dance around the merits of the argument. It's obvious.

Last thing you tore up was my brain with your stupid arguments. You have never torn up a rant, you are just another one of a myriad of people who need to get over it, and act like their "superior" opinion makes them better than everyone. Your just another example of how people who can't get over it are acting like idiots.

    LOL I TARE UP ARGUEMNT!!!

Since when was this a contest and point out one time you have torn anything up. Get the hell over it. Quit your ramblings and live with the game. And what are the merits of the argument. I know you treat Eatrunearrow like a messiah, but where are the merits, point them out so I can tell you what's wrong with them. Come up with your own rant besides cussing someone off and then pointing out other peoples posts.

Why don't you piss off from Runescape and get the [bleep] over it! 1 and a half years and we're still here complaining about the wild. If there was one thing I would send to Jagex it would be complaining that they created forum trolls like you who hide in the corner and cry because of the Wild.

THE WILD IS GONE AND FOREVER WILL BE GONE SO DEAL WITH IT OR, IN YOUR WORDS, PISS OFF!

    CAPS MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER!

It's official. I had a feeling when I joined, but now it's official. I'm making a declaration. I'd call it a papal bull, but I'm not quite that pretentious. Anyway, what I'm officially declaring is this:

Ratchet is the smartest poster on TIF right now. Back in the day (ironically, the "good ol' days" of '04 and '05) I used to watch these forums without actually bothering to create an account. Back then the rants forum was ruled by Raichase and Zubeedoo. Ratchet is the new Raichase. I haven't found a new Zub yet, but give me time. Moad is looking promising...

  18. You and your little pals can keep spewing your sloppy arguments, and i'll keep tearing them apart cannonballs tear through wet cardborad.

No. No, you don't. You say that they're wrong, but your arguments don't stand up to theirs, much less tear through them.

Was there ever an inbalance before a certain few updates? No.

Yes. There's always been an imbalance. If you don't agree, ask an f2per about the combat triangle. Some players are better than others. There has always been an imbalance, and always will be as long as we're dealing with living, breathing players.

Was there so much idiocy and ignorance and stupidirty in this game before miniclip? No.

That's because there were less players. There are also more respectful, intelligent, talented players than before. The ratio hasn't changed much.

And, before that particular bad update, did jag have to spend so much time "fixing" pvp? No.

I don't pvp, so I'm not going to respond to this one.

People are trying to personally attack Eatrunearrow in order to dance around the merits of the argument. It's obvious.

I don't know Eatrunearrow, and I haven't said anything personal about him/her (except that, I guess.) This post was solely about responding to your statements, and addressing the "merits" of your argument.
