  1. I got a brand new laptop windows 7, i updated my flash, but whenever i go on chatroulette or omegle, right after i click on allow to use mic and cam the whole computer just totally freezes up, cant use the mouse or task manager, nothing. then i have hold the power button to force shutdown.

my old computer on the other hand works fine, the site makes the web browser crash every now and then but it works, so im just wondering and curious why, please help.

    thank you ^__^

    What browser are you using?

I had a similar problem on tinychat while using chrome. I think that Chrome doesn't have full flash support so it can get a little buggy on webcams.

If you aren't using chrome, then just switch to opera, see if it works, if that doesn't work use IE if you really have to.

  2. I agree with most of that list actually... I think its creepy for gay people to adopt. Heck america isn't even the "worst" country in this respect. Muslims in nearly every country (excluding S.A. and U.A.E. and quwait <- spelling?) exclude and segregate gays...or stone them....

Point being Gays are rather privilaged in todays society... somewhat... well The greeks were really gay for awhile so... ( ancient Greece)

so in order of niceness to gays Greeks and like europeans :/ > americans and some eastern european countries > third world [bleep]ries or devoloping countries ( aids in africa is from unprotected reg. sex)

Pov here being that I'm a christian and god says homosexuality = bad, and though I know people that are gay i believe that what they do is wrong and try my best to accept them in spite of it

No scarcasm was intended in this post.

Show me the exact passage in the Bible where it says that being homosexual is bad.

Yeah, there isn't one, that lie was created by the catholic church to make people hate people who are different.

  3. okay guys, I'm working for my quest cape.

Basically, the Government wants to pass a bill to stop any sort of freeware, or anything that is made by someone else that you don't buy.

They are claiming that it is to stop piracy, which it is, but they are going to far. So, let me talk about things that you would have to pay for or it would be illegal to download.

    Opera

    Chrome (possibly)

    Firefox

    almost all distros of Linux

Megaupload.com would be illegal if there is a free version.

I, for one, will not standby while the government outlaws freeware "just in case."

  5. ok, so basically im sick of my junky computer thats 8-10 years old. i have made a list of what i need to build the gaming computer i need for the games i play.

could you guys tell me if im missing anything, or if anything wont work with something (like...the gfx card wont work with the motherboard, that type of stuff) and the computer implodes and turns into a black hole or some fun stuff like that.

ok, first thing is first..the processor..im getting a amd phenom ii x4 945 quad core processor. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4615717&Sku=A79-0945 thats the link to the processor if you want to check it out.

next we have the motherboard...its a MSI NF750-G55 Motherboard. heres the link to it, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5019772&CatId=4296

heres my dvd burner, not too important i guess...MSI DH-24AAS-17 Internal DVD Writer http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4974035&Sku=M452-5004

i have a gfx card, monitor, mouse, and keyboard already. my gfx card is a pny geforce 9400gt. its pci-e. i have it in my computer i have now, but i cant get it to work =[. so its just sitting there doing nothing :3

    thanks for your time :3

Your power supply isn't 80 plus certified, so it would be the best idea to get it, even though it has a lifetime warranty.

80 plus certified basically mean that you won't be able to get as much out of it, almost like you're buying a lower wattage supply, but only slightly lower.

  6. I don't think the hype for chrome is justified though, it's still quite full of bugs and often crashes, may it be only one tab crashing or the full browser crashing because of one tab.

I haven't had it crash once, maybe it's just your computer?

  7. Read about 1/3 of it + the conclusion and its pretty standard really.

Its impossible to prove or disprove the existence of being(s) which are by there definition magical and impossible to prove/disprove.

To argue either way based on your opinion will just lead to people either following you or hating you.

IMO the guy who wrote that article was a fool for even trying to prove or disprove it.

Unicorns are real, so a talking moons, and mizards, and elves!

No but seriously, nothing is real until we can prove it with solid evidence, sure there COULD be unicorns somewhere out in space on another planet, but we don't know that.

Plus the likability of that is like under a percent, waaaaaaaaaaaay under a percent.

  8. Right so as you may or may not know (depends on you memory) I have custom built desktop that I built barebones of last summer.

When I went home over xmas the fairly cheap processor fan I had in it started to squeal horrendously (made all the worse by the fact I purpsoefully got quiet case fans etc)

So basically any recommendations for processor fans that are powerful at cooling but quiet?

If you wanna be reallllllly helpful and get into specifics I have an AM2+ socket

Did you go in and check to see if it is dusty?

theres many things that can cause it to squeal, like if it isn't put on tight enough, or too loosely.

  9. Building your own most often works out to be more pricey. If you want a completely customized computer and the pride of having done it yourself, then that's the way to go, but buying a pre-built computer is more economical (even with some really good hardware in it). I'm sure some would provide exceptions to the rule, but that's my take on it.

Not at all, building your own works out to be way less, really. Look at barebone kits from tigerdirect or newegg, they aren't that much.

I'll give you an example, a sony Vaio L series desktop cost $1999.99 or 2k dollars, now look at these parts you buy for a stronger computer:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2782533&CatId=1909

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5471997&CatId=89

the custom PC costs $504.96, proving you wrong, the only thing it doesn't have that the Vaio does is 2 more GB or RAM and an OS, but OS is around $100 and RAM is around $50, so you see, custom PCs are over 9000 times better than bought ones that are built for you.

EDIT: also OP try not to use the suggestion i used above, that was just something i threw together quick, and it might not have enough power to support all this.

No, you can't even begin to make the comparison.

    1. The L series is an all-in-one, which you cannot compare to towers+displays accurately.

    2. I originally wrote that you were missing the CPU/MoBo, but then I saw it was bundled with the case. In any case, a Pentium 4 (which was ousted from the market years ago) is no comparison to an Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66 Ghz.

    3. It's "bundled" with a display, which can cost 200+ (more if it's VA/IPS). Even then it's a multitouch screen.

    4. You gave it a DVD/CD player when the Vaio has Blu-ray.

    5. The GPU you listed is inferior to the Vaio's, depending on which model you look at.

Go look at a standard model Dell or HP; you'll see that the difference is much less-sub $100.

Blu-ray? on a computer? what a waste, in less of course it can also read normal CDs as well, but i don't think they can do they yet can they?

  11. hello fellow tipiters (that how you spell that?) i am planning on upgrading to window 7 64-bit but i'd like to not have to erase all my data, because i have 34-bit so i need to do a clean install, so i'm looking for a new hard drive. And i figured that, while i'm at it i might as well get some new memory (AKA RAM) while i'm at it because mines a bit slow on the transaction.

I haven't ever gotten a new hard drive or memory before, so i thought i'd ask you guys incase you know any real good deals on good quality memory or hard drive for less money.

Perferred if the hard drive has 200+ GB on it, considering what i have now is 250 GB and i fill it about half way.

Also, i was wondering if i have enough power for all of this, besides my hard drive and memory i have a NVidia EN9800GT 512MB, although i don't know how many Watts my power supply is so i can't tell you, but if you know how to find out i will get that to you.

    discuss.

i think that video games aren't harmful, besides the occasional addiction, or sitting in one spot for a large period of time could be unhealthy.

Not quite sure when the media came up with the rumor of "Video games are dangerous for your kids!!!"

now whenever i tell people that for the most part my free time is video games, they look at me like i'm insane.

  13. I'm not quite sure if it has internal memory so you might need a memory stick

Yes, why wouldn't it connect to win7...

  15.

The year is 2004, and Runescape is about to enter it's prime age when the release of the version we play to date is to come out.

The community is strong, filled with fun, smart mature players.

Varrock is alive and bustling with traders attempting to sell their santa hats for 200k. Rune Armor is the top standard of armor to wear. A few higher leveled players are showing off their fabled dragon long swords and battle axes, along with their almost bronze looking dragon medium helmets.

Along with the bustle of merchants, Varrock is alive with pkers of all sorts. Many people are not even pures, and are just out there for the fun of it. The wild is packed. This is the age where the term "3 hit you" came from. You literally held your breath as you watched your hits display and if you didn't hit enough, you clicked as many food as you could before you were engaged into a fight again. Many people perfected the art of catching your opponent before he ran, so he would be forced to stop dead in his tracks, literally.

Magic is rare, and only really available to the wealthy. Many people stand for hours looting the castle in the wilderness's rune spawn. Few teleport out of the wild due to the cost of runes, and the risk of failing your teleport spell. A breed of pures which Runescape has not seen in ages is alive. Tank mages are alive and well. Imagine an incredibly low level wearing full rune casting god spells on you. Some were incredibly deadly!

There are no warnings in the game, other then a few signs marked with X's warning you of the wilderness. Warnings were not needed. Players at this time were able to use COMMON SENSE. We managed fine. If you were dumb enough to fall for a trap, you deserved it.

The economy of Runescape was a free economy, we traded what we wanted for how much. It evolved around pking. Smithing and mining were in their prime age. Huge profits were made off mining and smithing. Those who worked hard enough to Smith Rune items were Kings and Queens. Draynor village was the center of the economy for selling resources such as lobster certs, coal certs.

Runescape 2 was released and was met with mixed feelings by the community. Some loved the new found freedom of easy fast movement of the game, some hated it. The players were given a choice to stay playing Runescape 1 or to move over to Runescape 2. Those who stayed behind were destined to be left in the dust. Runescape 1 today is a graveyard of few players.

With the release of runescape 2, Runescape would boom. The new graphics were prime for their time. The community began to swell, however with the wrong type of people. Jagex began advertising on a popular gaming website for younger children called miniclip. This brought in hundreds of younger kids that were not supposed to be on the game of Runescape. However, due to the easy-ness of going around the age 13 rule, tons of little kids were let in.

These kids that were too young for the game were taken advantage of by many of the players. Many young kids who lack the simple ability of COMMON SENSE were often leaded into lures that were obvious to most mature players. As the younger player base swelled so did the pockets of Jagex. Younger Children became Jagex's cash cows, therefore, Jagex made the mistake of listening to the immature cries of their younger players. Jagex would dumb down the game.

Luring became against the rules. I myself honestly never lured, but I never felt sorry for anyone not smart enough to realize that magic piles of thousands of coins just didn't appear out of no where... ( although I wish they did!) .

Home teleport was born which significantly ruined the thrill of adventure in Runescape. Players previously had the thrill of charting the unknown with no source of back up, which now is just a convient click away.

The difficutly of quests were dumbed down also. Jagex began releasing many short easy low level requirement quests just to please the younger crowd. Some of the story lines were so cheesy that I just had to stop playing the quest because of my disgust towards it.

A ditch was then dug across the whole span of the entrance to the wild for the players who were too oblivious! to realize that they were in a dangerous place! Well gee, really, anyone with half a mind can sense danger when they see A. The Wooden signs with skulls on them. B. The BIG WARNING message that pops up over your screen. And C. players attacking each other and killing each other in the area.

Updates were released that greatly decreased the difficutly to raise skills. ( Pest Control is a big example of this) That place , in its prime days was a boiling pot of cocky young children sapping up experience like animals. Many of us veteran players felt betrayed as we had spent hours upon hours training our combat skills other ways. People zoomed to levels that had previously taken us months to get.

The younger child base would also cause ( in my opinion I know many on here differ) the biggest loss to Runescape.

The younger base of often dumber players that was swelling in Runescape fueled RWT websites. Gold was bought left and right by younger players who were not mature enough to figure out how to legitimately make money in Runescape.

Runescape became an uncontrollable zoo of immature kids and scammers and bots. Something had to be done. The zoo was so big that only a nuke would kill them all off, and that nuke would be the destruction of what had fueled runescape for so many years.

Free trade, the Wilderness, and staking were taken off and were replaced by bounty hunter. However, this also has been now closed.

No longer do the banks flourish with merchants and buyers. The wild no longer flourishes with people, even in pvp worlds. Player interaction, which used to be the heart of Runescape has really died off. Any advantage anyone may be able to take, has now been crushed. Runescape is essentially run like a communist dictatorship government right now. We no longer have a say.

I was level 42 when I first got my full set of Rune armor. I worked my hind end off for it by mining coal. By level 50 it was common for many players to have full rune along with a luxury item such as a santa hat. Nowdays in Runescape I see most level 40s and 50s wearing mith...

I miss the days of Runescape where mature friendly players roamed the worlds. I miss the hustle and bustle of people buying and selling goods, along with the players interaction that used to go on. This is a story/ rant about what I believe this game has turned into and I miss the old days very much. I hope they will come back someday.

Large quotes in hide tags please. ~ Jimmy_Jim

yes, the mature players who lured random unknowing noobs into the wilderness to kill them for laughs and bought coins through other people with real money.

    Yeah, real mature back then.

  16. They strive to maintain balance. No one skill is truly "over powered" in comparison with another. It comes down to player experience, gear and timing. Whine less, play more ;)

*sigh* If only this were the case, but that fact is, magic is the most underpowered offensive combat skill.

If you truly believe that magic is equal to range, and melée. Then I ask you to try and use only magic at ANY of the God Wars Dungeon bosses and cut a profit. I ask you to try magic on the King Black Dragon, then try range and then melee. See which style nets the most kills in one trip. Try try only using magic on the Kalphite Queen, then rang, then use Varack's. See how effective magic is on the Giant Mole. Watch the wonders of magic soloing the Corporeal Beast.

Still think magic is balanced? Try to receive 500k Slayer experience using magic as your only combat style, and earn more money then you lose wile doing it (Soul Wars doesn't count).

Now do you understand? Instead of just saying everything is fine, why don't you join the fight for balance?

magic is underpowered in PVE but PVP it is way over powered, i mean ice barrage does about 20 damage on me per hit, plus i'm frozen.

  17. I seem to be bored, my computer can handle anything that has graphics card under EN9800GT, my other parts are godly. PS3 games are welcome too. :)

So far I've play starcraft, Bioshock, all call of duty games =P, half life, and all half life 2 parts.

I just installed Win 7 and got a new PS3.

  18. I'm not sure if you have seen them before, but many groups of people, be it forums, Facebook groups, companies, and so on, have "community" YouTube channels where multiple people contribute to uploading videos onto one channel about or directed to their respective community.

There are many variations of these channels. Some of them are there just so a forum can make-easier it's global announcements, or so a company can easily get feedback from it's employees. There are also community channels for forums that sums up activities or acts as recreational source for a few members of the community to collaborate a channel and have their forum as a viewer-base.

I made the YouTube channel "ForumTipIt", and was wondering if you guys can give me a Yea or Nay on this idea. I'm not all for the idea myself, but if someone can convince me that it is worth it I may try to make it work.

    EDIT:
