  1. Having GE update 3-4 times a day would be the obvious solution. Doing nothing would be the most probable one.

making GE update more often would only make merch clans get profit faster...

I voted yes, they should make it illegal, but they should also look at the problems and restrictions ge always had and they apparently closed their eyes for

If it updated more often, merch clans would lose control of their items in a matter of hours, reducing any chances of large price spikes. The biggest problem with merchanting clans are that the items they manipulate become unbuyable for days on end. If the GE updated 4 times a day, merch clans would buy out an item, wait for a spike in 20 hours or so, and then sell. That's a lot better than being unable to buy an item for over 4 days.

Multiple updates would even help static items like rares obtain their true value. As of right now, they update every couple months. After the update, they'd update 2-3 times in that same time frame.

  2. There are two fonts in the back of the room that will restore your stats (at the cost of slightly healing the boss).

Last time everyone in my party started using that, they healed him back like 3/4 of his hp...so best to make pots or just let your stats drain, it shouldn't be too bad.

    Everyone in YOUR TEAM....

    My squad?

    His Hood. *crosses arms*

  3. Quit [bleep]ing arguing and post pics

    hypocrite ????

    unspam:

got the sgs a few days ago, i know its dropping, but i've always wanted it, and im sure it will go back up eventually :)

[hide=before you open and flame about "amg no cropping bad pixelation amg haxhaxw/ecrycrycry,just know that i have yet to transfer over adobe photoshop to my new computer] x4qbdw.png[/hide]

    You dont have Paint?

that was with paint, but i have no editing software and idk how to crop with paint D:

Rectangular Marquee, select the image you want, copy it, and paste it into a new paint file. The window will resize it for you to its exact dimensions, after which you can save and upload to whatever.

  4. Yes, but due to the time it takes to do this skill, you'll do it many times over making it rather tedious.

As opposed to Runecrafting or Agility?

Also, it takes an hour at a time to train the thing Solo, you can't just hop in for a quick few minutes of training and that is also a big hindrance.

    Not true.

Well, I find to do it Solo, a small dungeon, on level 6 complexity and going through all the rooms it takes me at least 45 minutes. I'm sure if I was going fast and skipping stuff I could trim it down to a half hour, but Soloing takes a while longer.

And I loathe Runecrafting. Agility I'm more hit or miss. They're older skills though so I don't have as high expections. Two years for this skill however? Oy vey.

45 minutes on solo...? You're doin' it wrong. Takes me less than 20 minutes, almost every time. I go through all the doors, and I kill every monster (I even trap those dino's for decent hunter exp).

  5. Can anyone tell me how to change the size of the dungeon from small to medium while soloing?

You can't, unfortunately. Soloers can only do small dungeons.

I hate that part... Even though I'd never use a medium dungeon on solo, it still sucks there isn't an option for that. Maybe there will be at higher floors/levels, but I'd be pissed if there wasn't.

  6. Magic is not useful for team sara.

Yes it is, Zil can't hit anyone, ever, how is that not useful?

I assume that you've never tried barraging zil.

I have. It's "VERY" useful. You'll never profit, ever, but we're not discussing that minor flaw in this discussion.

  7. Spelling errors come because I have a degenerative joint issue. I try and go back and correct them, but a few get through.

    :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Yeah, it's not fun to AFK skills either, but at least their tedium is AFKable. This skill is tedious and not, so it's doubly annoying. In a perfect world it would be fresh and not tedious, but in a perfect world I wouldn't be 4'11 either.

Alex, my mistake. I eamt to say that some of them are, but with those, it's far easier to train them and switch things up. Also nice that I don't have to wait for someone to get online to go mining.

I'd rather play Dung than AFK, but that's where our opinions split off. In a perfect world, games (in this case, skills), don't stay utterly static in their gameplay and creativity; at least we're moving away from that.

And lol, Jeeze, but who the hell are you? You've been here less than a day and you want to come head on at me? Go away.

I'm a bit more of a familiar face than you'd think, lol.

  8. if i have money, I want to be able to spend it however i deem fit.

If it raises the prices to where you cant afford stuff, too bad, too sad for you.

Noone is stopping you from using your money on items or skills. If you HAVE money, why do you need more? and more importantly why play a game to make only more money? And why not do it in a way that don't affect others? I'm surprised of your comment.

I dont play every hour, my money may as well make me more money from when I can play :)

I love making money too, but manipulating screws with a lot of people. The obvious argument here is that it ruins the fun for many people, even though it might be fun for the small portion doing it in the first place. Kind of like abusing bugs. A lot of people abuse bugs for their own fun, but it really only ever pisses off the majority who'd rather play the game for non bug-abusing reasons.

It's not against the rules, though, because it shouldn't be. I might get pissed off when I can't buy P Pots, but I'd be even more pissed if people were getting banned for playing the game the way they want to play it. Instead of mass banning, which is such an idiotic solution that it makes me question people's sanity, I propose a fix to the GE. If the GE is fixed, manipulating (which is also merely emergent gameplay) will mostly end. All Jagex needs to do is make the GE update multiple times a day. It works fine in Wall Street (Lol), so what could be the problem in Runescape. People might lose more money in a day, but it's no different than pre-GE economics.

  9. Spear >> Everything Else.

It's been mentioned before, but it has all three attack styles, great speed, great str bonus compared to same class weapons, and almost everything is weak to stab in Dungeoneering. I recently destroyed my promo spear p++ to get primal maul from rammer dude, and I hate it. Can't wait for to get my spear back. I can only think of ever dropping promo spear again for a primal 2H, B axe, spear, or longsword, all of which aren't even out yet... -.-

  10. One of the most damning faults is that you can't do Dung in a lunch break. Once you go down in the hole, you are there for 45 minutes to an hour, if you are thorough and go to each room. I find myself going all over to the place to scrounge for strong antipoisons for Harlaak the Riftsplitter, or hides or any thing else. I literally make one pass through to see what's there, find the boss and decide whether to smith those ores into armor or arrowheads, etc. al.

Any of the true skills in the game, I can pop in for 20 to 30 minutes easy and hit a lick. Not so with Dung. This is yet another feature that makes it more akin to a diversion (a la Fight Caves) than a skill.

That's my major beef with Dungeoneering. I love TD's because I can log in, kill for 10 minutes, log out. Dung is basically the opposite. I can only do it if I have 40 minutes to spare for 2-3 raids.

Edit: Pro tip -- go to world 2, make a 5-man, go to 5:5 difficulty, and do a small-sized dungeon. It'll take less than 15 minutes, unless you're doing something horribly wrong (team might suck), and you'll get fast EXP. By far, way better than doing large dungeons at lower levels. The added Base EXP for doing a large doesn't really register at lower levels.

  11. [hide]

Once I was a poor man, but then I found a crown.

    crownh.jpg

I have no earthly idea why people buy these.

Looks like a phat and they are about 200m short of the entry level one?

The whole POINT of a phat is that they cost a lot though, and are rares. Crowns just look like crap.

I bought it because it is 25m street, and this guy was selling ge price. 24m profit.

You didn't profit, at all. You had 24m in junk, and now you have 24m in cash (amusing you have 24m in junk to begin with, and if not, you now just have a have a half assed phat). Where in this did you MAKE money?

    [/hide]

You have 24M in Addy Arrows p++. You have 24M in cash. One form of wealth is spendable; the other rots in your bank.

You have 24M in your bank. You have 24M on the ground. One form of wealth is spendable; the other rots on the ground.

  12. I've always said the most damning thing I can think of it's simply not fun for ME to do by MYSELF. Sure floors change and everything, but you're fighting the same things over and over again. Its mind numbing and tedious.

The other skills are too, but least you can AFK or switch windows to relieve yourself of some of the autonomy.

Jeeze, what's with you and horrible spelling errors? Seems like you always confuse the general populace with yourself. You're the first person who's found this skill more boring than other skills. Really. The first.

Also, AFKing to relieve the repetitiveness of other skills isn't really called playing the game. I'd rather play the game to actually... Play the game. If I you want to level up without actually playing, then I suggest you open up MS Paint and color in all 99's and get it over with. Would be a lot more efficient, as you're not really playing the game in either case.

Edit: Anyone else notice that the Ring of Kinship is basically a free/fairly quick teleport to a bank? Just thought I'd share.

  13. Oh, I'm sure as an activity it would get plenty of traffic given that it gives as a reward what are currently the most powerful weapons in the game (even though they do degrade... <_< ...like so much of the other gear released as of late).

I don't think it would have quite fit in as an activity though. The way it works demands that you should have to work your way up in ranks before you are prepared to delve deeper into the dungeon, and making it a "skill" certainly accomplishes that. It also opens up the possibility of future dungeons that tie in with the dungeoneering skill.

I certainly agree that it isn't a skill in the traditional sense, though. I think perhaps, if they insist on redefining the very meaning of skill, they should separate skills into distinct categories for more clarity. For example, "stats" for combat skills, "skills" or "professions" for the more traditional skills, and maybe "proficiencies" for skills like slayer and dungeoneering. And please no one scream at me that doing that would make the game more like WoW... just don't...

I won't scream at you. I'll just say that WoW does something similar, but does it much better. In fact, Jagex has been getting into the business of doing things like WoW, only again, WoW does them much better.

Except that it's quite pointless to assume that just because one game has content similar to that of another game, they're specifically going into business of copying material. It's obvious that with so many different games with different varieties, that one game will eventually end up copying, to some extent, another game.

Minigames could have ranks too. I think that a ranking in a minigame would be less redefining than screwing about with my arbitrarily defined preconceptions about skills that I've created without attempting to accept newer and more elaborate skill clarifications.

    fix'd

But as I've said, in order for it to be a skill, it would have to integrate into the game. I don't want that though, I want this skill to stay in Daemonheim and never infect the regular, enjoyable game. I don't want any quests to have it as a level requirement. I really, really want to ignore that it's even there.

So, we arrive at the end of the logic train here because everything else is just random [wagon] BS being constantly spewed without any consideration of being the slightest bit hypocritical and/or idiotic.

The reason why it's not a skill is intergration. The skill exists solely unto itself in a little world and has no, and I mean, integration into the Runescape whole. That's what skills are, they're things you can do in the world of Runescape, not just on one stupid island/peninsula.

I don't want that though, I want this skill to stay in Daemonheim and never infect the regular, enjoyable game.

As a concept, it's a failure because while people keep harping on what is and what is not a skill, I think a fundamental part of a skill is that it can be integrated into the game as a whole, not just set aside in one spot.

I could only assume that you think your opinion of how fun this game is should determine whether or not this skill should truly be integrated into the rest of the game, thus supporting your point of view as to how much of a failure skill it is because it lacks integration. I for one love this skill and haven't left since it came out (other than to get 94 herblore with half my bank) and can't wait for batch two, where I hope Jagex fixes some problems with the skill and releases more dungeons outside of Daemonheim that require a Dungeoneering level that you can only train in Daemonheim.
