  1. What's up homies.

My name is PV2 Patterson, John Dillon III, I am a 19 year old Army reservist serving in Iraq!

    Here's me!

    16750_1202816963937_1633982918_508072_1837207_n.jpg

I've found there is certainly enough down time over here to squeeze a few hours into this game, so why not?

There isn't a whole lot to do around here when we aren't on missions, go to the gym, waste money at the PX, chill with the homies, spend too much time on Facebook.

Havent played full-fleged in over a year, lots of new things going on in the game I see.

Well this was an introduction to me.

    You can add me : D I L L O N

Just to chat, talk about life, the Army, Iraq, anything.

Heh. Just be glad you're in Iraq and not in Afghanistan. Good luck trying to find fellow RS players at Kandahar... XD

  2. A quick google search says that 1m gp now costs just $1.80. My guess is that all the RWTers do now is just gain EP on your char for Statues til you get the money you paid for.

    Your guess is wrong, sorry.

RWTers are very crafty. Why do you think Onyx is 2.7m now? It was used to RWT with.

    13,337 posts aswell, very naice.

What are you talking about? I distinctly remember furys being 3m+ in world 2 before december 2007. I'll admit some people are very clever and use that gift for bad, but a lot of the rwting site DO just trick 24/7 on your account until they aquire the asked amount of gp. Also to your point about using onyx's for rwting, I believe that was dragonstones, and that method was known by the majority of runescape before it was removed.

he's talking about Tokkul... uncut onyx coosts 2700000 tokkul now.

Wow, please bother to read my whole post and not just the first sentence, before quoting me. Anyway The tokkul thing was for dragonstones, and was fixed awhile ago. The recent shop update is what bumped up the onyx price. There was no way to use onyx to rwt.

Um... simple google search "use onyx to rwt" finds

    RWT method - 8-10 mil a hour

    Okay, you need:

1.7M on the account that is receiving the money & Karamja gloves 1

You have to go to the Grand Exchange and buy Obsidian Maces, Obsidian Swords, Obsidian Mauls and Obsidian Staffs.

Go to the Tzhaar place and sell them to the shops for tokkuls, you will need 260,000 Tokkul.

When you have 260,000 Tokkul, buy an Onyx from the Tzhaar shop.

Sell the Onyx to the account that is giving money for 2.5M

This means you spent 1.7M in order to buy the items, but received 2.5M

(The account with the onyx would have to get Crafting assist request and craft the Onyx into a Fury which is worth about the same as you spent to buy the Onyx)

This means you transfered about 800k right there

You're able to do this 10+ times an hour

    That means 8M+ an hour

(Note: Do not try this method with under 1.7M on the receiver and 2.5M on the giver, you will not be able to transfer.)

    Happy transfering!

Note to Mods: This does not work anymore, and I do not advocate RWT.

Yes, you could use this same method for dragonstones, but this method was faster.

  3. Everything rose in price. That's inflation. A RS gold coin is worth less than it used to be. But because everything is more expensive now it doesn't matter. Skills may have gotten more expensive even with taking inflation into account but that's a continuation of a trend that started the moment skill capes were introduced. People want their capes and they're willing to pay for them.

EDIT/ The only people who are annoyed by inflation are those who accumulated a decent cashpile before the PVP update and now see it become worth less every day. Everyone else who whines just don't get the concept of inflation.

Not everything rose in price. Monster drops are still the same. If it was everything, then lvl 2 man should dropping much more than the paltry 3-25gp it has dropped since it first came into the game. THAT is what is causing problems. The mass inflation is what is making that utterly useless. And this is just one example.

Another example is the price of Construction, which is pretty much the same as it was since it was introduced back in May 2006. The costs for the rooms and magical stones and such was supposed to work as a money sink. However, there is MUCH MUCH more money in the game now than there was back in 2006, yet those prices are still the same.

There are many more examples of the game where the sheer amount of money has ruined lots of aspects of the game.

  5. A lot of you are missing the point.

Let's take a look at the game Counter-strike for instance. That game is all about killing people. How is this different from Runescape? Counterstrike is rated M for Mature. It is not marketed to little kids. You don't see advertisements for Counter-Strike on kid's sites. Steam doesn't have a "parents' guide" for Counter-Strike.

Take Diablo (or Diablo II). Diablo also has an M for Mature rating. Diablo has killing, black magic, swearing, nudity, etc. But why do I not care? Because Diablo isn't being advertised to little children!

The Joe Camel thing hit it right on the spot. I don't give a damn about Viagra commercials, for instance, since they usually depict older people in them. But if Viagra started showing children (<18) using their product in their ads, there would definitely be complaints.

Runescape can have all the stuff in the real world, but compare it other games marketed at little kids. Jumpstart nth Grade, Leapfrog Leapster, etc. etc (how much violence and killing and scamming and cheating and stealing do those games have/encourage?). If Jagex is trying to convince parents that Runescape is just another game like the aforementioned, then that is very wrong.

  6. As far as I know, alching does affect the RS economy because it magically creates heaps and heaps of money. Therefore, the worth of each GP becomes less and less, increasing inflation. But I don't know anything about economics - messes my head up

For every alcher, there is someone recharging their crystal bow, repairing their barrows armor, buying mind runes in bulk from aubury, paying Sanbioch 875gp to get into Brimhaven dungeon \' , etc. etc. etc.

That's money disappearing from the game.

  7. I'm waiting for a new tzhaar style city that buys pots for a set amount of currency [something]. Then, you can use that currency [something] to buy like dragon boots or something. (Similar to onyx)

Nah, jagex should keep with the pattern and only let slayer monsters drop the metal boots. A new slayer monster that reqs 95 slayer =D

  8. kirbybeam, the Tip.It Times has nothing to do with the forums. And while you were being so quote happy, did you think about posting the Times Disclaimer? Here it is, FYI:

The views expressed in these articles by The Editor or any author do not necessarily represent those of Tip.It or our staff.

Oh really? That doesn't change it one bit. If I link to a hate site, and I say "The views expressed at that site does not necessarilty represent those of Tip.It or our staff", it's ok?

And to be honest, what you're saying is really REALLY stretching it. You DO realize that you're grasping at straws, don't you? Having a balanced life and saying that "you only get one shot at life" is no more of a religious statement than saying "you can't take it with you". And even in those religions that espouse reincarnation, there isn't one single school of thought that indicates that one comes back as the same person. So even with reincarnation, you DO only get one shot at the life you're presently living. You don't get to be the same person twice.

So please, get off your soapbox and stop trying to make an issue out of something that just isn't.

Get off my soapbox? I'm not the one advocating religious views. Here is a definition of religion:

reÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâ÷liÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâ÷gion /rÃÆââ¬Â°ÃâêÃÆââ¬Â¹Ãâ¹Ã¢â¬Â lÃÆââ¬Â°ÃâêdÃÆàâââ‰â¢ÃÆââ¬Â°Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢n/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ri-lij-uhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

    ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãânoun

    1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Saying that people ought to have a "balanced life" is a moral code. Saying that people only have one life is again religious, because that is a belief regarding the purpose of the universe.

And who cares about reincarnation? Way to totally miss the point.

  9. I don't know if this has been posted yet, but that tip it times is against the forum rules:

A healthy life is a balanced life: work or school, sleep, chores, interaction with family and friends, games. If you're not doing some or all of these, then something is out of whack.

Not everyone is a virtue theorist. I find it offensive that tip it promotes a "balanced life" over other ethical/religious choices.

We only get one shot at life.

This is a very religious statement.

  10.

Sure, some things have gone down in price, but how does the surge in autoers explain the increase in the price of yew logs? Last year they were 250 each. This year people are buying for 350 each. And trust me, there are a LOT more yew autoers this year than there were last year.

Skill capes. More people wanting one, and fletching is an easily bought skill. More people buying logs and strings would increase the demand over the supply.

Which means that skill capes encouraged autoing. Way to fail, jagex.
