  1. So a friend of mine told me that, one of my BF's best friends saw him cheating on me. Thing is he's very very loyal, i can prove it (i was in japan for a month and he didn't do anything)

    Also said girl has a boyfriend whom she is very loyal to as well (i think she was almost engaged at one point)

    My question is what should i do about these rumors? I don't want them to put a strain in my relationship, especially since my boyfriend knows i have slight paranoia issues with being cheated on or being abandoned. (adoption has caused a couple abandonment issues but thats besides the point). Is there a way i can keep people from making these rumors up so that i don't have to confront my bf?

  2. One of the hardest things to do in IB is to keep a healthy social life.

    My girlfriend and I like to do work and study together a lot, which you might want to do with your boyfriend. Also, you don't have to do every single assignment to the best of your ability. If your teachers are anything like mine, they'll be too lazy to actually collect and grade half the stuff you do. Purposely skipping the harder questions on a worksheet won't do as much harm as you think. You really only need to focus on your IAs/orals/tests etc.

    Hopefully that helps with your workload.

    my exams are in may which is a month away so every class is starting to really pressure us to do well. Also i have a D in calc and that just won't do.

    @Noxxx I'll try that maybe he'll see it then.

    thanks so much guys :D

  3. Normally i post advice but i now have a question:

    So I've been dating this guy for a 2 years and being a senior in High School I'm starting to get weighed with so much work i no longer have as much time to see him. He also now has an 8 hour a day job, which limits when i see him anyways. My problem is that whenever i seem him i'm so exhausted from the week of non stop school work and chores that i'm often tired and just want to relax, as oppposed to him who gets 7 hours of sleep + where as i average 5-6. He think i don't love him as much because i'm not as affectionate as i used to be when in truth i'm just burnt out with life. I still love him as much as i did before but he won't listen. What should i do?

    Have you tried telling him that? ;)

    yeah, he tends to err, blow things off sometimes because i tell him and he says something along the lines of "your always like that" or "that's always why"....always meaning the past few months since i'm in IB and its the equivalent of taking college classes.

  6. I'm just wondering how long it'll possibly be before I'm emotionally stable again with anyone... Since last year when I broke up with my ex I have been trying to cut emotion out of my life just because I'd rather get rid of it than deal with it, a cowards way I guess. Also this has lead to some unexpected complications - namely a breakdown or so every other month. I'm currently midbreakdown as I write this so forgive the bleak nature of it, then again the last one was much worse with my carving into myself.... And yes I do mean self harming.

    Now, I've talked to real life friends and a few of them say to me that they think it's the lonliness getting to me and that I should really see someone, because each breakdown I get worse in terms of self hatred, and emotional instability. I just wondered what you guys would say. And also I'm just unsure atm if I could ever commit to a relationship without screwing it up somehow.

    But yeah, how do I sort out being so emotionally unstable?

    I'm in the opposite camp, I don't have much emotion in me at all.

    As for the emotional stability, have you got a way to vent? Perhaps someone to talk with?

    I don't either now I guess.... Or not as much as I did.

    And the last time I vented my friends were worried sick about me because I spent days just cutting into my arms... I would talk to them, but they've heard it all before and don't need me burdening them.

    I used to be like this, but for different reasons (i too was a cutter). Whom ever said a hobby, i would also suggest this. If you feel like you burden them tell them, it may help you feel better if you hear it from them that it's not a burden. If you can't do that find something that you can release your feelings too, a journal, art something expressive.

    By learning how to cope with feelings of depression (or others) it's easier then to become more stable.

  7. Two computers i'm looking at if anyone is interested:

    15-inch: 2.0 GHz

    * 2.0GHz quad-core

    Intel Core i7

    * 4GB 1333MHz

    * 500GB 5400-rpm1

    * Intel HD Graphics 3000

    * AMD Radeon HD 6490M with 256MB GDDR5

    * Built-in battery (7 hours)

    Cost w/ apple care for 3 years approx. $2000

    OR

    Used

    Apple MacBook Pro 15.4", 2.8GHz, 500GB 4GB

    Cost w/ (2 years left on apple care warranty) $1000.

    Cracked screen, would need seller to fix before buying.

  8. Wow, this is a lot to process with one day. Thanks for all your help. I've started looking at computers and checked with all of the universities. They say mac or pc is fine as long as you can use Microsoft word or something compatible with both.

    My brother had a friend who offered a 15.4" macbook pro 2010 (i think) for $1000, i don't know the specs but i know its a decent computer. I'm also looking at the mac store today so it looks like i'll be getting mac. Part of the reason is i've also wanted to start to do more photo editing and i know he has a copy of adobe for macs somewhere.

    I do get student price being a new found college student, and since my parents have a college fund the money will be coming out of that.

    Your advise has helped a lot in this process so I thank you.

    I'm also most likely going to install windows so i have the option to use it, but being my experience with macs i feel more comfortable using them. Also my brother has had a mac for nearly 5 years and plenty of people i know have had better luck with them than ones from dell.

    If you would like to continue discussing for future people who contemplate this feel free.

    Again thanks for your help!

  9. Wow, sounds like it's still kinda unsure for me. If it helps i'm wanting to major in biology so i'm not sure what that entails.

    I'm thinking of getting a mac and just installing windows and linux (i think my brother has a copy of windows somewhere)

    as far as virus protection i heard that a lot of windows don't come with good scanners (My bf was kinda stupid with his vista and felt he didn't need one, derp)

    I was wondering if Macs came with any specific virus scanning software. I currently use Trend Micro and AVG (two separate computers that are owned by my parents).

    Would both be easily downloaded onto mac and pc? i'm wondering b/c i have had a couple of email hacks (i have no idea how it keeps happening) but i'm thinking it might be a school computer. (i have since just started bringing the crappy linux run old old ubuntu on a dell computer found in a dumpster ha ha)
