Hey everyone, first time posting my own topic here, hope it's the right section and all. I recently started making videos on 07RS(Oldschool Runescape) for money making tips and skilling.

I'm not sure if it's been posted here yet, but I will announce it anyway. The 2007 servers are going to be released in 2 days! February 22nd, 2013. I for one, can't wait!

Hey everyone, Zarpy here. Pretty new to the forums here, signed up to discuss the 07 servers topic. Anyway, I wanted to share a new community with you guys and gals that are into the 2007 Runescape. As we have now passed the 200k votes mark it seems Jagex is really doing all they can to get more votes. I'm sorry, but I am still not going to put my vote in there. It is just too much of a hype now, and I want to focus on the main game.
I'd like to point out something, to you, and everyone that won't play these servers but continue on EoC. Until the poll hits 500,000 votes, there is no development team or maintenance. While I can't sit here and say for sure, but I feel as if this will effect the normal game, if they have no extra people, some will have to watch over these new ones, that is for sure, you can't just leave a game server running and never have to do anything to it.
Just a thought, not telling you that you have to vote, still up to you, but think about it before completely shutting the idea out.

Wasn't aiming at you, idk why you think i was . It was more towards teknofield( I even said his name in the post)who makes it pretty clear he doesn't want an 07scape server but more of a server that gets every update he likes and none that he doesn't.

Oh gotcha. I didn't read it very clearly, sort of just got the highlights.

What was 07 bankspace like?
Not that great, but there was also wayyyyy less items, so comparably the same.

I'm kind of in the middle of the graphics discussion, I liked the style of old RS, how the armor was designed and fit your character, but I also like the HD textures of the new. I wish there was a middle, old style armor, with the HD textures.

After jagex releases the 07scape server, they should also release another 07scape server. The first 07scape server to constantly be updated with what everyone wants (like teknofield said) and the second 07scape server to be stagnant.
But why stop there? They should make an 08scape server an 09scape server an 10scape server. And when we it's 2018 they should make a 15scape server, c'mon jagex we pay we say give me my server.
Give everyone their own server make everyone happy.
I'm not one of those kind of people, but I would expect a "Not sure if.." meme coming your way.

I just don't understand why people can't be happy with what we're getting. Thousands and thousands of people complained about all they wanted was 06/07 Runescape, now that we're getting that, all of a sudden, it's not good enough. I didn't even stick around to beg for 06, because honestly I thought it would never happen, I left Runescape silently, and when I heard about this update, I was pretty stoked, and still am.
Asking any game company to release a 5 year old version of their game, claiming the new one sucks, is by far asking so much already, be thankful. Jagex was nice enough to even consider the idea to start with. Try going to Blizzard and asking them to do the same with WoW, they would spit in your face. My actual point here, is know what you really want before you speak, because you end up looking like a fool later.
This is a general statement, and is not directed toward anyone directly.

Hey thanks! I'll be sure to think of you when I am boss killing and doing Grandmaster Quests in High Def HTML5 while you're still playing an unplayable version of the game that existed 6 years ago.
And good luck to you running around as a level 3 trying to skill and train amongst the bots! Be sure to drop by from time to time and let us know how epic it is to cut logs with 100 low-def bots who all look alike. Be sure to keep us posted regarding your amazing PKing adventures in the "golden age" with the same PKing community as exists now.

The HTML5 thing though, thats way down the road, and the current EoC is over 50% bots no doubt, so don't think your free from that either. :)
But yes, the 07 servers after a month will have a lot of bots, I've accepted that, hell I accepted that over a year ago, when Jagex stopped giving a crap about them.

As many as you want, it's unlimited. So you could play for 2 bucks a month for ever.

Your estimation of how many members there are in RuneScape changes faster than the tide. I think that's the sixth time this thread you've altered your estimation by a very significant margin. Anyone would think you don't really have any idea.
No, it's just that random. Two days ago even I calculated around 250k end result. The reason why is because what I explained above. There is to many margins of error, that makes it impossible to calculate to a solid answer, it's almost like guessing because of how many factors there are.

Can't you just make an account and while your still on your trial, you upgrade for 75% off.
Yes, the reason why you recruit is so your main gets membership too, off of the recruitment, if you didn't, every month you would have to start over lol.
Edit: But to clarify, no, everyone who ever signs up, gets this offer, the reason why we recruit is so the main account gets member too.

I was joking, and in regard to the photo "Seems Legit" this thread as been filled with people spewing random "stats" of how this thing is going to go, it was a joke.

Not sure if this is against the rules to post here, but I can't see why not, because it's been reported to Jagex many times and they haven't fixed it, so they clearly don't mind for whatever reason. Anyway, all you do is on your main, recruit a fresh email of yours, signup off the recruit email, login to game (only to create your character, this is important), then log off and wait a day. Once you have waited a day of trial membership off of the recruitment, you will be offered a 75% discount, making the membership cost 1.98 USD, on your recruited account. Buy that, and your main will also get free membership, for recruiting 'someone' that bought membership. Hope that all makes sense. :)

There is a couple issues and margin of error. First, and the major one, it's rigged, and I have no idea why. When the website when down last night for an hour, it came back with 2k more votes, yet no one could vote because the website was down? So this basically means Jagex is milk feeding us to the finish line, no idea why, but it's around 25-35 votes a minute. You also can't judge in math on peoples opinion, there is no way to calculate, how many people will change their mind about becoming member again just to vote today, or current members will change their mind and finally vote, it's impossible.
There for, my number is simply a ballpark number, and will probably end up being off, and I accept that, but you guys should also understand why, so I figured I'd post this. My main point is, you can't calculate this number, you can only get in the general area of current progress.

F2P is dying a rather slow death anyways, the numbers are disastrous. It used to be the case that there were usually more F2P'ers than P2P'ers by a healthy margin of 9-1, but now there are more P2P'ers. That's horrific for a game that prides itself as being the largest free online game in the world.
The reason is because they basically removed F2P. When you make an account, you get 14 free days of membership. If you recruit someone you get 3 days of membership if they play for more then 48 hours, and if they buy a month of membership, you get a month of membership. Plus, if you recruit yourself (which a lot of people do) you can play this game for 2 bucks a month, and have 2 accounts member, because how flawed their refer system is.

For those asking for projections, I've calculated with current speeds, averages of daily gain, average of daily percent loss, that the end result will be 407,000 votes. I take it Jagex also saw this, and decided to drop the tier down, basically 750k+ is now only good for F2P.

What time is 5b? I know it's the 21st, but I am in US for instance, and I am curious about the time, kinda would like to see that. :D

To add on my statement though, I have also thought over the last few days, maybe it's much more then that. Maybe, they set it up to fail, just to get people back playing the normal RS in the mean time, in attempt to get them hooked. Like me for instance, and 2 of my friends, we quit on release of EoC, but gave it fair chance. However, that feeling of having a childhood game back, and doing nothing but waiting for the 07 servers, I got back on the current servers, to waste time, and get back into the style of it. I must admit, my friends, and I, have got back into it, and hooked even on current servers, though we still all refuse to do combat, so we have just been skilling.
But either way, I still stick to my opinion on this being preplanned, I am still undecided on why though.

Lol Kingduffy isn't bad. I remember ages ago though he used to sell ranks in his friends chat and then delete them after lol. And during trade limit he sold junk to people for ranks. Not sure why he did that but it's easy to get greedy on RuneScape. This was long time ago anyway, never heard anything bad about him after. I think he is still a legend and great guy.
I remember when Gertjaars was 1, he used to make people buy stuff for him in the fc and barely answered anyone. And ofc he did those paid shoutouts on YouTube for smoking mils too, they were known rwters back then too. Oh well was still amazing to see him hit 2B Xp.
Not gonna blame anyone for doing things like that anyway, sadly it's part of the game. Jagex allows people to do that.
But yeah I am sure pretty much anyone has done bad decisions while playing this game :P
I don't know, I just remember being super proud of my first skill cape, fletching, first ever, and when I asked him something, lord only knows what, was so long ago, he called me a noob, and told me to get a respectable cape before talking to him. He was pretty much dead to me after that point.

Honestly, a word toward current discussion: This was preplanned, and anyone who thinks other wise should reread the FAQ. Most of the questions are answered in past/present tense, not future tense. But in the post saying there will be a vote coming out soon, they said they found it that very weekend, some of the answers even say "We have been working on this for a while", connected chats in FAQ is a good example.
So what if it's preplanned? Basically, they are a company, and are thinking ahead, they were doing this with or without our vote, but I bet last second discided: "Hey lets get some starter money, by making people vote for it, and get some classic players back at the same time". It's all apart of this scheme that it's 'our' year, and 'our' word.
While I do not disagree with them, or their reasonings, I feel they have a solid plan for the future of it, and are/were confident in it, however in their newest post, you can see a bit of nervousness when they state "The poll is going slow now" yet we reached 50k, so now they are forced to do it.
I honestly have no idea what my point is, I had one when I started typing, so if you get anything out of this cool, if not, sorry. xD
I got side tracked by texting a few times lol.
Would love to hear some feedback on my opinions though?

Topic made in 2009, dang. This champion has been a long wait in the making, congrats to SUOMI for being the first! What I like about him, compaired to previous top/fame players, is he is actually nice, and if isn't to busy will have a conversation with ya about skilling. KingDuffy, where ever he may be these days, was a major tool.

Accounts. Assuming, of course, 1 vote/account which may not have been the case I understand to begin with (cache clear etc).
A lot of people have stated you can vote multiple times, however you cannot, I am unsure why people on YouTube and such keep claiming that. I tested it on my computer at work, which I have never logged in on before, so fresh IP + never been on the site, so no cookies related to RS at all, and I was unable to vote.
