  1. Having had a mayhem fortnight in my personal life, I've not been able to play much, but have recently...

    • Got 50 Agility
    • Got 50 Crafting
    • Completed all novice quests
    • Completed Temple of Ikov

I've removed the "journal" aspect from my second post and have decided instead to make a post on the blog every time I make a relative milestone (any level that ends with 0 or 5, any level above level 80) to keep it relatively well posted/bumped. Though I have a busy few months ahead I should be able to have a few milestone levels in that time! Wish me luck!

  2. Is there a guide anywhere for which summoner familiars you should be using in, for example, combat, at any given summoning level?

I'm aiming for an untrimmed slayer cape and haven't been using summoning at all on the way, and think I probably should be. I'm currently 47 summoning - is there a particular familiar that would be good for me to use, or one I should strive for at an achievable level?

  3. Amongst a whole bunch of other level ups, I got 59 magic and my cooking gauntlets today.
I'm hoping to use my enlightenment aura bonuses and cooking gauntlets in conjunction to get 90 cooking and start playing around with Player Owned Ports - they seem ace.

    Good luck. :)

    Thanks!
Had a good run of it so far (got 10ish Slayer levels) but I've now run out of the bonus exp I stored up (20k or so) but I'm hoping I can still get enough that my ranged/mage won't get too far ahead of my slayer to catch up with!

  4. To Balter (v): to dance without particular grace or skill, but usually with enjoyment.

I've played RuneScape on and off for six or seven years, but I've recently started a bucket-list of all the goals I've had in my life and never completed - including an untrimmed slayer cape. I started a new account (manicgoose) and, after a few month break to get my life together, have decided to come back and make a blog to document my attempt!

    Me

I'm a student at Warwick University, England. I'm pretty involved (the president of) the charity society, Raising and Giving (RAG), at the Uni and a competitive Latin and Ballroom dancer - though I do those things for enjoyment, I take them far too seriously and so I use RuneScape to relax. How often I'm online varies dramatically between near-all-day to offline for weeks at a time, but I'll try and keep a tab of that on here. These spikes are caused by deadlines, exams, upcoming competitions and the lack thereof.

    Goals

    Short-term

    • Cooking Gauntlets
    • 50+ all skills
    • Smoking Kills complete

    Long term

    • 90+ Cooking
    • Untrimmed Slayer Cape
    • 70+ all skills

  5. Oh my bad forgot weekly and monthly activities

    Weekly:

Meg (for a lamp in a skill, up to huge)

Tears of Guthix (make sure you make an ornate bowl, look it up)

Char's FM cave (requires 91 FM)

Circus (agility, ranged, magic, fm, and thiev xp, do the quests to unlock all events)

    Familiarization (camp waterfiends)

Agoroth (kill him twice for bonus xp)

Capping at citadel if you are in a clan

    Monthly:

God statues (xp in construction + prayer/slayer, do this for 4+ months in a row

Troll invasion (xp in any skill, do hard mode)

    Optional:

    Shattered Heart (weekly)

    Court Cases (2 weeks)

Not sure if they are normally worth doing, but definitely finish these if going trim comp.

Oh and do player owned ports ASAP. You want to finish the storylines and obtain all those scrolls as quickly as you can.

Thank you so much for this!

Out of interest, is there a reason you haven't included penguin spotting in this?

  6. For daily xp, make sure you do the following each day:

Mining, Smithing, Farming, Herblore, Construction - Warbands

    Firemaking - Book of Char

    Woodcutting - Divine yews

    Summoning - Bork

    Hunter - Big Chinchompa

    Fishing - Fish Flingers

    Runecrafting - Wicked hood

    Dungeoneering - Sinkholes

    Crafting - Battlestaves, Flasks

Any skill - Jack of Trades aura

If there is anything I missed let me know

    Thanks for this!

  7. Okay, thanks for all the responses! Not 100% sure what a warband is (I've been away from Runescape for a long time, having played for a few weeks in February and deciding I wanted to come back and give the completionist cape a go - worth a shot, especially during the summer holidays) but I'll definitely look into them!
