If you want to moan about dynamic sigs, you forfeit the right to EVER complain about lag. ANYWHERE.
Its not a stupid rule, i would rather have less lag than see your oh-so-important sig. And if its sigs that are causing lag - and they could EASILY be changed to static ones, dont say they couldnt - then youre just straight up selfish
-
If its true half of their bandwidth is taken up by 1% of users just spamming highscore look ups for their sigs, then HELL YEAH stop that.
I'd rather have a LESS LAGGY GAME than be able to see whatever the hell random-person-i-dont-care-abouts stats are today

Im pretty sure it was rune mysteries when RS2 was released, but it didnt get a "new quest!" announcement, because it just came with RS2.
the underground pass 'remake' was released after rs2 was released iirc, it was released in classic
EDIT: yeah, it must have been rune mysteries, because that was out after legends (classic) and before chompy bird
Thanks for that, so 01 Dec 2002 (beta) or 29 Mar 2004 (official release)? I'd probably guess Beta, hm?
I really cant rememeber offhand, but Id guess it was with the 'real' release of RS2 when everyone had to choose which game their account got move to, because they lowered magic exp and doubled everyones runes when they switched to RS2, and I dont remmeber people in beta having loads of runes to play with outside of monster drops and shops :-k

you know its bound to happen
Oh, to go with all those other dragon ranged weapons you mean? Like those dragon throwing axes, knives, darts, arrows, bows... oh wait....
I'm pretty sure dragon stuff is for melee only, thats why rune throwing axes have a special attack because theyre not going to have anything higher

Out of interest how many of you who did it and are going on about how easy it is used a guide?
Because I did it the first day it came out and it was REALLY HARD because I didnt know what to expect. I must have died like 5 times
-
Now, 5 people have 2,178 overall level. Cyrano just reached it today. Is it getting too easy? Pretty soon, most people will reach 2178.
yeah, I can see how when 5 people out of something like 2 million have maxed out their stats over a period of like 3 years then that means that pretty soon most people will -.-

Mage has a longer range than range does thus you can not got hit.
Mage only has a longer range if you're using a shortbow or darts / throwing knives, try taking a longbow with you next time.

Id suggest your first day you just 3 item and explore away - members is HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE
open the world map, and walk from members gate, through taverley, through catherby, through seers, do fishing contest on way, then walk down to ardougne, then down to castle wars, play a few games, yanille, then head off where you fancy.
if youre gonna be killing men while thieving for herbs, you should probably do observatory and clock tower quests on the way so you can get treasure trail stuff when you geta clue too.

How come when someones complaining about range being 'underpowered' they always compare themsleves to melee pvp when theyre supposed tolose to them?
And how come if range is underpowered at any given moment of any given day taverley blue dragons and waterfall fire giants permanently camped out by rangers?
-
Eh, I'm kind of dissapointed with the quest honestly. No, I don't have 70 cooking, and I can't complete it. But you can kill just about everything with full prayer and 20 some odd prayer pots.
you phail because you cant use prayer AT ALL on thoe bosses k thx bai

Jagex need make name on every gloves to avoid new scamming.
How are people going to scam on untradable objects? :?

...Did andrew really just threaten to sue tip it?
No, they threatened to take legal action against the articles writer.
Yeah, but you guys are hosting it - im not a lawyer but whenever I heard of a libel case before its always a newspaper (publisher) that gets sued, not the journlalist who wrote the piece... but im not a lawyer, I dunno

waa waa waa
I don't even know why you still play this game, all you do is moan about jagex every update.

*snip*... seems kind of hypocritical for you guys to complain when jagex asked you to go back to the policy you USED TO HAVE YOURSELVES :?
A policy which they no longer have because it wasn't a good policy.
Would it be hypocritical for US women to complain if they were asked not to vote in any upcomming elections because it used to be the policy that they couldn't?
No, it WAS a good policy, the only reason it got changed was because other sites didnt have that policy, and tipit got lots of people leaving for runehq and stuff.
Before the change of guard at Tip.it a while back, the stance was the exact oposite to this editorials stance. They used to hold back on releasing any guides to give ppl a chance to try out the puzzels. What I am reading is a very condecending point of view and I sure do not know where it is comming from. Especially since most of the old guard is still around. Smells of a power strugle within :(I agree, it sucks to have a walkthrough available before you even LOG IN AND TRY a quest.
I got no problem with walkthroughs, I got a problem with walkthroughs being up within an hour of a quest being released before most people have even had a chance to try a quest a 'proper' way.
its not like most quests arent easy to do anyway with looking at the quest journals and stuff - but its nice to TRY yourself in the first place, its why loads of times if im lucky enough to be online when a quest gets released i have to play it with privchat only because people will be running around going 'you need to use tarromin and ash in a vial' or whatever
-
So... am I imagining things that it used to be tipits OWN policy to not allow guides to be posted for at least 24 hours after a quest was released?
just because you guys forums were down for ages and runehq started stealing all your visitors you dropped that rule and just put up guides whenever they were done to 'compete'. seems kind of hypocritical for you guys to complain when jagex asked you to go back to the policy you USED TO HAVE YOURSELVES :?

I got an onion

Oh and besides, what can they advertise without making the product look extremely lame and not connected to the game?

Are you trying to say that Jagex haven't added any areas for skill training since august of 2006? :-k
EDIT:
Just to be REALLY clear here for you - Varrock had every single point on that poll EXCEPT updated graphics - its looked the same since beta, so maybe they wanted to spruce it up a bit. Stop acting so personally offended they released an update YOU didn't like.
