  1. I don't get why you say that no value for m will be high enough. Clearly if its 150k/hr then m is high enough. A 2.5% bonus only adds 2k to the xp rate so the required m does not change much.

The required m still changes some. It should be calculated if the 2.5% increase is enough to justify spending time unlocking the bonus, considering the loss of smithing exp. That's what ho3f3l is saying.

  2. Or maybe he accidentally put his password in the username field... Quick! Steal his account!

Pretty certain thats what Jagex do when you break the rules as a punishment, Happened to a couple of mny friends. Unless Zarfot is faking and just wants to be unknown for a bit?

You're saying Jagex steals accounts as a punishment? Or puts people's passwords in the username field?

This is not going to make Zarfot unknown at all, and he knows it, so I doubt that's why he did it. Legions of people have him on their friendlist and they're just going to see "previously known as: Zarfot". Or they check his guide for how to kill Suqahs and notice the new name.

It might be an accident, could be someone actually did steal his account and he didn't do this himself, or most likely it's just an inside joke or something.

  3. I personally skip or block these:

Iron and steel dragons until I get rapier

    Kalphites

    Living rock creatures

    Terror Dogs

And I will probably start skipping fire giants, haven't so far though. Also I've only had one TzHaar task, dunno if I'll be doing them now that I have my cape. I've also done warped tortoises so far, but I might start skipping them, 50-50.

Most important advice: do NOT buy Aquanites!

edit: thought I'd add what tasks I recommend not to block:

    Spectres

    Abbies

Black Demons (unless you don't need charms)

    Velds

    Dagannoth

    Hellhounds

Nechryael (unless you don't need charms)

    Spiritual mages

Waterfiends (unless you don't need charms)

These are all great tasks. And I use a cannon, which you always should do.

I haven't had any skeletal wyvern or dark beast tasks so I wouldn't know about those.

  4. I solo, and I c1 1-30 smalls, once I hit 31 I c6 medium rush. My strategy is basically rush everything under max-10. So once I'm 43 prestige, for example, I'll do floors 34-43 large rushes, which would be the top 10 floors. It's easy, fast, and very fun to make time trials for yourself, try to beat your records. I've heard 4- minutes per c1 small + switching time to next dungeon is a good goal to shoot for, and so is 16-18 minute mediums. I'm at like 4.5 and 22 atm, slowly cutting time off.

You're saying you solo but you also say you do larges? Did you mean mediums?

But yeah I think I'm gonna go for trying to beat my own records. But I'll probably time 1-10, 11-20 instead of each individual floor. That way I'll be more motivated to get through them.

  5. Yeah I'm naturally going to rush the mediums too. Although I do tend to make runes to fight Rammernaut and get a bow for that book-mage-guy. I've wondered if it would be better to just melee them, but when I last tried I think I just died a few times (which of course is not a big problem if it's a c1 small rush).

When you say you usually do c1 to 29, is that soloing? Or larges after 29?

  6. I want 80 dungeoneering and I'm going to solo it. I'd just like some input as to how it's best done. Currently I'm leaning towards rushing ice floors on c1 small and doing c6 mediums from there on until reset. That's because I hate ice floors.

But would it be better XP/h-wise to do c6 mediums right from floor 1? Or maybe rush c1 to like max-5 and then just do 5 mediums?

What do those who do 5:5 larges do with lower floors? I understand that what pros do from floor 1-20 might not be the best for me because of XP/h differences at higher floors but anyway.

And yeah I know 5:5 larges would be faster but I enjoy soloing and larges are just too long for my schedule usually.

  7. Goodness of fit Test

For whips, the expected frequency was 2.93 and the observed was 0.

For not-whips, the expected frequency was 1497.07 and the observed was 1500.

    χ2= (2.93-0)2/2.93 + (1497.07-1500)2/1497.07 = 2.936

    p = χ2 cdf (2.936, ∞, 1 df) = .0866

    [/hide]

Is this wrong then? The chance of not getting a whip is 511/512, so the probability of not getting a whip 1500 times in a row is (511/512)^1500 = .0532... = 5.32%

  8. Because this thread is about efficiency..

He's asking if it's more efficient to kill half, and let the other person kill the rest in terms of slayer and what not.

Does halfkilling count towards your slayer kill count?

If it doesn't, then maybe it's better. If it does count, then it's not, because you'll be getting less slayer exp per task.

I think the one who does more damage gets full slayer xp for the monster, even if they only killed 51% of it. The other one(s) gets nothing, including credit for kill count.

  9. You could just fill the horn whenever you have access to a good team (use BA clans' clan chats and IRC), in between training other skills. Would still boost your average agility xp/hr quite a bit in the long run.

That's the problem, some people think among the lines of ''if it isn't 100k xp in 3600 seconds, it's not 100k xp an hour'' and won't go further in trying to research or learn about a method. But this topic is about 200M xp in those skills, so it's completely irrelevant what you manage to do in 3600 seconds, it's relevant how much xp you can gain per hour on a consistent basis, week in, week out.

Or, like I said a few pages back, xp per hour is irrelevant, xp per week is where it's at. Or even xp per month, xp per year.

  10. Just bring standard melee gear and kill the two near the astral altar, that way you don't have to deal with mage. A bunyip should cover all your healing, and make sure to bring super sets to get through this task fast (Such a bore lol).

I suggest you afk :shades: i watch stuff on youtube or just fouce on my cc and cheak piles every min or so

no reason to even check the piles, they drop garbage.

    Effigies

  11. I'm curious why you want to attempt this, rather than spamming 5 and dragging your cursor over the herbs.

It's obvious, this way you could just watch a movie while spamming 5.

By spamming 5, I assume you mean hitting a specific sequence of 3 to 5 separate buttons to clean 28 herbs at a glacial pace, then bank each time.

God forbid you miss a button in the sequence only to have your cursor move outside your inventory window so instead of cleaning herbs you'll be frantically running around the bank while watching your movie.

Just doesn't sound like a great idea.

Yeah I don't think it was really supposed to work with watching movies. Just make cleaning even easier.

  12. the use of mouse movements involving absolute coordinates is forbidden (relative coordinates are allowed, like regular mousekeys)

    so yeah it is cheating

will you get banned? who knows

But if you make it so each keypress is just a jump relative to where the mouse currently is, it's not cheating right? Because then the only difference to regular mousekeys is that you're using more keys for the same thing.

  13. If you have a separate button for moving and clicking, then I don't see how it could be against the rules. Would be cool if you made it so Q cleaned the first herb, W moved down to the next one, E cleaned it, R moved down to the next one... And when done you just bank manually and redo. Just move your finger through the keyboard. I think it's faster and at least more accurate than hovering with mouse and spamming 5 and +.

  14. Never heard of biological needs I take it? The need to mate, the need to establish dominance the need to pass on your genes. But of course picking a video game that you're gonna play maybe 5-8 years over your permanent biological needs is a very healthy thing to do. It's not like you're gonna regret any of it when you end up quitting right? Even though you may deny it now later on you will realize how the society has left you behind and you're stuck by yourself and no one gives a crap about you anymore and you can't find a decent job because instead of going to college you were playing runescape 15 hours a day and your entire life ends up being miserable. sure you had a blast for 5 years but good luck accomplishing anything for the rest of your life.

Well ok there's just no arguing you, you're too smart. You're somehow now directing this nolife-hate at me instead of the top players? Or is it passive form? Anyway, you're still stuck with the prejudice that each and every person on the planet wants to be like the guy in the second pic you posted. Although I think even you would probably understand that women might not enjoy it the most. Next step is for you to understand that there might be men like that too.

And no, I'm not saying that I personally am curious.
