It will make merchanting easier, more automated. It will also allow short-term monopolies.
If you have ever played WoW, people easily make money with the Auction House. The Grand Exchange is most likely to be similar to that, so it will still allow people to make money off of it. It won't be like any of the times you buy something ridiculously cheap, since people don't always know the price, then sell it ridiculously expensive for the same reason.
It will help and hurt the merchanting economy, but merchanting will still be possible, and easier to do, but possibly less profit for each trade. It might lead to more people merchanting since it will allow you to go do something else while your items are up on the Grand Exchange.

Darn, nothing from shortly after Fletching came out. I first got my members because I thought Fletching would be a fun skill to raise and I did raise it very quickly :P. Always wondered how well I was doing with other people back then since Fletching being above 60 was simply amazing to most people (no make 5, 10, or x).
-
Maybe it could go 3D :-k
RuneScape already is 3D, it's just very low quality.
-
I normally will listen to music, watch a show/movie, or multi-task playing other games with RuneScape.
However, I normally don't consider skills leveling up long until the upper 80s.
-
They're implementing a botting skill, the more you bot the higher your skill is, then they can tell if you're botting or not :P.
But seriously, it's most likely a new skill or an entirely new aspect of the game, such as the achievement diary. Something that might be nifty is another graphics upgrade.

If you don't have the money to pay for something that you don't need, such as food, most likely shelter, and water... DON'T BUY IT.
-
I enjoy mindless repetitive tasks, which is most of what I do on RuneScape. I don't really play it a whole lot to meet people or use in a conversation, so I just don't mention it.
Most people either don't know about RuneScape or think it's a game for children. I don't consider it that, it's entertainment and what you do on it is irrelevant.
If anyone watches or sees me playing it they normally will say something about it. However, normally I just get a comment on why I'm playing a game called Run Escape. Then they normally bash the simplistic and low quality graphics thinking that if it had bad graphics that it MUST be a horrible game.
-
Popular comments I've seen in people's "I-hate-Jagex" topics include "They don't care about the game", "They only want the money", "They're just doing silly little updates and not fixing the big problems", "They're afraid of people whining, so they won't do anything about this problem", etc. That's not just background juvenile moaning, it's a serious opinion expressed by intelligent and mature members of the RuneScape community.
I love the article all-around other than this one bit. It is very much so an opinion of a person on RuneScape, which should be viewed as a paying customer in members or someone they'd like to convert to a member in free to play. However, my beef with it is that I consider a large population of RuneScape to not be intelligent and mature at the same time. Don't get me wrong, this isn't entirely an insult, I'm just saying most of the people that play RuneScape are young and aren't supposed to be mature yet.
I'm sure he probably wrote something along those lines to avoid flaming and to upbeat the players, good idea for an article.

Spinach rolls are a nice one to collect, they have a chance of coming from random events as well as monsters.

Trading my pink p hat(they're now purple) for 2 r2hs in RSC. Also buying two santas for 40k and selling for 80k about a week later and thinking I made a good amount of cash(was the week they were dropped). Also not logging on for scythes thinking that they would just give out non-tradable pumpkins or something lame.
-
The only thing I really miss from RSC is Firemaking. Before you could burn logs other than normal logs it was SOOO easy to level. I was at 60 something firemaking and each normal log would give me almost 200 experience. I remember hanging around trees all day burning them. People thought I was krazy for lighting the forest on fire 8D.
Unfortunatly I never took screenshots in RSC and very few in RS2 8(.

Grr, I hate fighting Turoth ><.

I feel bad now that I sold my old one. I got one for 1.2m a couple of weeks ago and resold it for 1.5m after a little use. Too bad I didn't just keep it for the pretty redness and made 1.8m after the update.
I think I'll buy one when the prices drops down about a million or so =P. Dang krazy prices with new updated items. I bought a whip a while ago when they were the big rush for 4.65m and now I just feel like I've wasted 2mil, although I love the weapon 8).
EDIT: Weird, the poster above me has the same total level as me when I posted 8D.

Hello,
If you don't have a fire cape, get the obsidian one! It will add up a few more weight to your outfit. (I don't recall how much weight exactly but it's definetly more heavy than legend's).
Greetings,
Zou Lou.
Obsidian Cape weighs 2kg, just checked it. It seems like it should weigh much more than that since it says it was made with obsidian plates. I guess they could be really thin plates, but oh well.
Also ditto to the fatty thing 8).

Non-member. I did it back when the happy little dragon was flat and ugly as sin!
-
I dunno, I like the thread 8). I got 4 thieving levels already when I saw the experience per hour in the desert camp.. place. Learned a couple new places to raise skills than where I was previously leveling them.
It's a really good topic so let's just ignore the old thread bumpage and say yay 8).

Earthquake in the Catherby Fishing Store O.o?

I haven't been able to find a decent place to cut Teak logs. Does anyone know the best spot to cut them?

If you get cold sores it means you have herpes 1. It's a very common disease passed down from birth. I believe about half of americans have it.

My 18th birthday was yesterday, April 8th, and two days before that I died and lost obby shield, my 4 year old lame cape(yay for sentimental value), rune plate body, rune boots, glory ammy, goldsmithing gloves, and ring of wealth. I'm just glad I could buy it all back, especially since I didn't drop my whip, d legs, or d med.
It all turned out well and I got obby shield and obby cape to drop, but I bought the rest. However, it sucked cause I've been really sick since Thursday and so my birthday weekend just kind of sucked. I know how ya feel man, but hopefully it will get better for you 8).

I'm just recalling how RSC doesn't have equipment slots-- you click on the equippable item in your inventory (square is in red when equipped) to wear it.
My quick observation is that 28 spaces should still be plenty. I would be more in agreement if this was about bank space- that is needed, at least for members.
I do wish, however, that I could wear an eye patch and a pirate hat at the same time
Don't forget in rsc we had less inventory spots on top of that 8).
I think 28 is plenty. Just find a close place to a bank whenever you're doing anything and you'll have an easy deposit close at all times.
-
Maybe the slots should be like wise:
COMBAT:
everything needed to fight (mage armor/runes and range arrows and armor, and melee items)
Prayer items(ex.monk robes)
FISHING:
Cooking utensils
Fishing utensils...
And i dont feel like doing anything else, you can do the rest, group similar skills together like firemaking, woodcutting and fletching since they envolve some of the same stuff. that would help organize
and for like outfits and money, have a MISCLENNIOUS(major spelling error) slot.
If you read it correctly, it says you create the names of your 8 slots, they are not preset.
I support this, would be a lot of coding for Jagex to make it be fool proof, but it would be very good in the end.

If you want weekly updates get runescape
If you want good graphics get wow
if you want cheep membership get runescape (wow is 15$/month i think)
Bigger world = wow i think
bigger population = runescape
portible? = runescape
Wait, you're saying RuneScape has a bigger population than WoW? Hate to tell you, but WoW had more accounts active the first month of it's existance than RuneScape has ever had.
WoW has more content, but doesn't update as often. However, Blizzard updates in very large amounts once a month instead of a bunch of tiny updates. WoW is more of the raiding, grouping kind of person instead of soloing (though you still can).
RuneScape is more casual and costs less. It's more for the people that like to raise skill instead of getting items to become the best.
As for the communities in WoW you're very wrong. They have good communities, you just need to get into a guild that you like. RuneScape has a lack of official guild forming and can sometimes have a lack of communication.

I've been pick pocketing Dwarven Traders for a bit. They give about 557 exp a successful pick pocket and I've had these as picks: 100g, 400, 1 noted bronze bar, 1 noted iron bar, 1 noted runite ore, 1 noted copper ore.
I'm thinking that they might have 1 noted of every kind of ore and bar.
