I am in the process of completing this quest. When I was in the mansion and I got the notification from my character that I'd caught enough rats, I immediately walked into the next room. The NPC who saw me just teleported me back to where I was in the mansion. Then I went to a guard and the same thing happened. I did not get teleported back to Ardougne until I snuck past the guards back to the trellis and climbed down. So, the person who created this post is correct and the quest guide should probably be updated :)

Hi! Not sure if it's necessary to add this, but it would have saved me some time if I'd known. At the beginning of the buyers and cellars quest, you are supposed to meet Chief Theif Robin at Lumbridge castle. I ran all over the place and finally found him pinned against the south wall. His precise location probably isn't important enough to add, but I thought I'd point it out all the same. Thanks!
