  1. Which attack style? "Accurate"?

hmm....no...it was on the standard slash (str) i guess.

Does it make a lot of difference?

I will make another run to see if I was just very unlucky.

Yes, there's a pretty significant difference. On bosses in general terms always use "accurate" generally anything with high defence.

  2. hmmm...tried to go solo bandos with the suggested setup and a bandos godsword.

I had tried two weeks ago with a whip. That had been a disaster. I didn't have piety back then or a godsword. So I thought I would try again.

I had now the same problem though. I got hit a lot and couldn't even make a dent in the boss monster, let alone kill it.

Super-setted. Piety on. Melee protect prayer on.

I ate an inventory of sharks and his hp bar wasn't even 10% down.

Was I just very unlucky in my hits?

    95 att

    96 str

    99 def

    98 hp

    83 magic

Range level? And which gs? Oh, and did you have auto retailiate on?

  3. I have a few issues with your reccomended equipment.

Armadyl plate: I have heard that metal platebodys stops the accumulator from working. I may be mistaken however. (Also, this is designed for people who do not have masses of money.) Also, you need some sort of zamorak item to stop the bloodveld and spiritual warrior/ranger/mage (can't remember which) from attacking you.

Bandos tasset: It helps to have some extra range bonus, and they're quite expensive...

Ranger boots: Good point unless you want bandos, although at the time of this post the price was minimum 4.5 mil.

Barrows gloves: It helps to have saradomin bracers so you are not attacked upon entering the dungeon. But otherwise, I would use them (if I had them, I'm still on addy)

Archer ring/ ring of wealth: The range bonus from archer ring is miniscule, so it would be more worth it surviving and maybe getting 10 less kills or so, as opposed to dying. And rings of wealth increase the chance of getting rune drops, which decreases the chance of getting anything else. And as the main money is from addy bars, you want them to have a high chance to drop, not rune drops.

Fury/glory: If you do not take an armadyl item (which you could do with armadyl legs/plate if you wanted), then aviansies and the spiritual creatures will be agressive towards you. And if you do want to take a glory. Here's why.

    Fury range attack bonus: +10

    Fury range defence bonus: +15

    Glory range attack bonus: +10

    Glory range defence bonus: +3

    Prices (at time of post)

    Glory: 52.2k

    Fury: 2.6m

If you just buy them for their range bonuses (attack and defence), then you will be paying:

    Glory: 4k per point

    Fury: 104k per point

I ask you, is it really worth it?

You may want to actually research the things before you comment on them, I believe both fury and glory are worth it! But that's besides the point, Armadyl Chestplate is the best ranger armor out there where Bandos Tassets is a melee armor with a great range defence bonus.

And from your post it sounds like you have confused the two.

And besides that I think coins is no question and you should post best to worst no matter how expensive it is, aslong as it's done with reason. Otherwise your guide seems fine. Since you have already posted Dragonfire Shield, and for what I know it is a bit more expensive than armadyl or bandos armor!

And you can't compare price with how many attack/defence bonuses it has! That's just stupid:

Rune Platelegs: 1184 coins per point

Torags Platelegs: 3837 coins per point <--- ARE THESE REALLY WORTH IT??? (Yes they are, as you say yourself) :)

  4. Ahh well I'm not sure, but I pretty much doubt it ;).

Toast, you might wanna add Bandos Chestplate and Tasset in front of Torags, it might have lower melee defence, but since we're praying melee this does not matter! It has a better Range defence along with prayer and str bonus, and it doesnt decay!

  5. Hello Everybody!

    Foreword:

I've started this guide because I'm tired of the typical scenario when you run around varrock with anything from a full barrows set to ranger boots or a gs, and some player walks up to you and ask you "How did you make your money?". I honestly can't bring up a clear answer because I'm not a skiller with 99 Woodcutting or 99 Fishing, I will not explain all the of the chosen skills to the full potential since little to no one wants to read a 20-page guide, you'd rather read a 5-page guide, and then from that choose which metod you'd want to read more closely, since a lot of these methods probably already are covered on forums.

And most important; You cannot expect to make money for a Godsword in one hour! Moneymaking takes time, there is no one hour solution to getting 20m+!

    Motivation

This section is put in because you can't be focused for a long time unless you have a goal, which has to be reachable and measurable, therefore "I want to catch a lot of Monkfish" will not work. What is "a lot"? Goals can be almost anything, from cutting 1000 yews or getting to level 67 in Mining. The point for them to be reachable is important, because if you don't reach your goal it will end up having the opposite effect and being demotivating, motivation will also be the thing that will get you to 99!

Competition is a good way to level and collect coins, if you have some friends you can compete with, then make a game out of it.

    Requirements:

    Woodcutting: 60+

Fishing: 62+ (the Swan Song quest must be done)

    Hunting: 63+

    Mining: 60+

Crafting: 10+ (Yes, just level 10 crafting!)

Trading (no skills needed, just a fair start capital)

    More methods coming!

    Woodcutting

This is where I started to make my coins, this requires at least lvl 60 to make a lot of coins since willows aren't really selling that well due to the massive amount of willows on the GE. Maples are a way of training, but due to their low price 30-32gp each it's not a good way to break your first million coins.

Yews, it can take quite a while to gather 1.000 yew logs, but believe me it is a decent way of making money. And in most cases faster than cutting magic logs, unless you're higher than level 90 woodcutting and even then this might be a quicker way.

Places to cut yews; North of Varrock Castle, Tree Gnome Stronghold (closest to bank), Edgeville

Magics, this can be a slower way of gaining coins than yew logs, unless you are high leveled (90+).

At level 60 you would be able to cut about 150 Yews per hour, which can be converted to approximately 70.000 coins.

To improve the speed of woodcutting by summoning a Beaver, which requires level 33 and boosts Woodcutting with +2, it is an invisible boost.

    Fishing

The reason I have wrote the requirement of 62+ fishing is because of the wonderful Monkfish, but they do also provide the one of the fastest way of leveling fishing along with giving more coins than fishing Sharks! There is a bank nearby the fishing spot, but no cooking place nearby. This doesn't matter since the value of Raw Fish is higher than the value of Cooked Fish.

A way to further improve the speed of catching Monkfish is by the use of Familiars! Here are a few possible choices depending on your summoning level! Granite Crab(+1) requires level 16, Ibis(+3) requires level 56, Granite Lobster(+4) requires level 74. Aside from giving a hidden fishing boost listed in the (), they also provide a small amount of fishing experience since they catch fish too!

I estimate you can catch about 225 Raw Monkfish per hour at level 62 which can be converted into approximately 92.000 coins

    Hunting

I'm not master hunter! But I do know that this is a great way of making money, the reason for this level requirement is that you can start catching Red Chinchompas, primarily used in range training where you can gain a whopping 300-400k xp per hour. But that isn't the reason you're watching my thread, it's the fact that they sell for about 650gp each.

To increase the amount of catches you can summon a hunting familiar! There are four different ones, but only two with relevance to catching chinchompas. Spirit Larupia(+5) and also teleports you to Feldip Hills where Red Chinchompas are catched, and the final familiar Artic Bear(+7).

It's possible to catch about 135 if you're a level 63 hunter, with some knowledge of how to set up your traps to maximize the amount of catches! This will generate approximately 88.000 coins

For more information on training and catching Red Chinchompas read this guide it will explain the principles of hunting and show the places to hunt.

    Mining

The reason for level 60+ is because of two reasons; you will have access to mining guild and you are able to mine coal at a decent rate, coal is a brilliant choice because it is used in making all high-end bars and therefore constantly in demand. It sells for 175 each.

Here summoning can help a lot too, here are the familiars; Desert Wyrm(+1) at level 16, Obsidian Golem (+7) at level 73 and Lava Titan(+10) at level 83.

And least but not last! Get Varrock Armour by completing the easy varrock diary, this will give you a chance of mining two ores at once. Which will increase your income.

I think it is possible to mine about 250 coal ores per hour, and maybe more with varrock armour at level 60. Which will be about 44.000 coins an hour.

    Crafting

Flax spinning is by far the best way to earn coins if you do not have a "high" moneymaking skill (woodcutting, fishing, mining, hunting or combat), it does however take a fair amount of time and also a good start capital. You will be buying the flax of the Grand Exchange and then simply but effectively spinning it into bow strings, flax is about 90gp each while bow strings are about 190gp each so about twice as much , this meaning:

If you invest 40.000gp you will get about 80.000gp

if you invest 10.000.000gp you will get about 20.000.000gp

But, the more money you invest the longer it will take to gain them!, I calculated that if you spun about 13500 bow strings a day it would take 52 days to make enough for an ags. This considering you can spin about 800-900 an hour! That is approximately 80-90.000gp an hour.

    Trading

For this method you will need to have a start capital, the bigger the better! You will be buying things that are constantly in demand, like Lockpicks, these does however require 50 agility and 50 thieving to attain. The NPC to buy lockpicks is Martin Thwait, he sells them at 20gp each and they can be resold at Grand Exchange for about 50gp each.

This is in general where creative minds can make tones of coins, you have to figure out what items are high in demand aslong with being sold be NPC for a lower amount. And then simply resell.

*Please note that these amounts are rough estimates, thank you.

  7. Errrm, I'm not high jacking a thread, I just find it pointless to post a whole thread to get an answer to a related question which is asked in this thread aswell. But anyhow, I'll make a new thread to and hope I that I get some response...

  8. I was just wondering how well I can tank aviansies, since it's been a long time since I have last played. And I have never visited God Wars Dungeon. My stats are:

    Hit Points: 79

I just don't have an idea of their damages etc.

  9. 4-5/10

Your mage setup....you arent using anything on your top and bottom, so you can get owned pretty easy, second why using zammy flames on barrows even if it is strong, it doesnt worth it, better use ancient magicks

Learn to crop kai? since your pics are full slow pcs can blow or something #-o

Please read my guide again (to the place where there is tactics, should be something about using melee armor on melee brothers!)

Besides it did say "expensive option". Why does players buy Phats? simply answer because they can afford it!

And if you had even read to the tactics part it says put on armor against Melee brothers where you don't use prayer!

Last time I checked pics they worked :-k, and they still do :-s you sure it's not your computer?

  11. Besides, 4 prayer pots is a little much to be honest. Unless you get barrows items pretty often it will not be worth it. I usually don't use prayer doses except if Dharok is in mound. With black dhide/karils you can easily do Ahrim without prayer, and guthan and torag aren't really a challenge either, Verac is a bit harder but shouldn't be a problem with 70+ defence. Karil can be done without prayer too, but it can be really tough, Dharok should Never be fought without prayer.

If you want to fight the Melee brothers/Karil without prayer you need to insert a full melee armor in setup instead of mystic.

In my opinion there is no use for Mystic/Ahrim's in Barrows, it gives mage att bonuses, but they are already low enough to kill them with melee armor (or range armor)
