  1. I've had this idea for a while now here's my ideas on the topic.

I believe this sailing idea could be made into a full blown skill, named sailing or something using construction you can build ships for with to sail. Or, if your construction is not high enough buy ships from others.

Your sailing skill would determine what kind of ships you can use.

You would start with tiny little boats, and after raising the skill you

gain the ability to command large ships. Also as your skill gets higher

you would be able to hire hands for the ships such as a first mate to

take care of the ship which you would other wise do yourself. Rooms,

and resources such as cannons would also become available with

    higher lvls.

As far as sea combat goes, you would choose to fight others in a little

sort of mini game. It would work like the combat arena or something.

Both players would agree to a battle with certain rules, and then have

at each other. Players would use cannons to damage other's ships.

damaged ships could be repaired but at a slow rate. The effectiveness

of the cannons would be determined by a players range of course.

After a certain amount of damage is taken a ship can be boarded, by

the other player and his crew. A boarded ship is subject to possible fire

and of coarse the killing of crew. A player loses if he/she is defeated by the other player or his/her ship is sunken. A sunken ship is can be recoverd at a shipyard but, must be repaired signifigantly. Resources such as cannons would remain on the ship. If a player's construction is

not high enough to fix the ship that player can pay another to do the

    job.

Fishing would also be allowed but only at selected spots. Certain spots

would have a higher chance of certain types of fish. For example: If you

wanted lobies you would go to the area mostly containing them. If you wanted Sharks you would consider a different area. Fish could aslo be stored in chests available on the ship after a certain sailing level is reached. That way you dont have to keep sailing back to a bank. the chests would only hold a limited amount of fish though.

As far as using the skill to sail to places go, you would only be allowed

to land on ports all ready designated. Some would be blocked off, such as tutorial island offcourse. While sailing on your own ship may be free,

it will however take longer than sailing on other ships, because you will be

actually controlling your ship to the destination.

hope this enlightens the idea and inspires additions.

  2. Well I know this is not a very new idea. But I think It would

be cool If runescape had races other than Human like alolt of other MMORPGs have. Personally I think it would be awsome if my character was a night elf. Possibly different races could have different atvantages like dwarves could automatically have +1 mining, or smithing. Or elves could have +1 attack speed. Also you could go to the makeover mage to change your characters race.

Tell me what you think, and post some ideas for playable races My Ideas are:

    Humans (already in RS)

    Dwarfs

    Elves and Night Elves

    Gnomes

    A minitar like race

    Faires

    Cat Humans

    Nymphs

    Satyrs

  3. I've been wondering something. Did jagex ever intend on have a monk combat class to go along with melee, mage, and range? I know prayer is usually just used as a sort of combat booster, but I was wondering if that is what they were thinking or if they really thought players would create accounts that are prayer bassed. If you notice the adventurers in the lost city quest are of the 4 different combat types and not just 3. So that right there says that they might think of prayer as its own form of combat. If this is the case I believe jagex should improve prayer so that it can become more of its own indipendent combate type.

  4. I think we might be looking at POHs the wrong way. Jagex seemed to incline that farming, carpentry, and POHs are related. Well maybe then the land you use for POHs is free just like the land you use to farm. The land is there, you build upon it, creating your house, while others create their own houses on the same land except you cant see their house you only see yours. Its just like how in farming you develop the FREE plot of land for farming while others develop the land in their own ways that are invisible to you. Some pple seem to think that jagex might be using POHs as a way to fix inflation problems by charging an absurd amount to buy land. I dont think this is the case because jagex wouln't want to give carpentry to only those who can afford it. They would want everybody (thats a member) to be able to get land for a small fee (if not for free) and be able to raise their capentry and build a house for themselves. This whole carpentry thing might be an entriley private thing that no one but yourself sees. I really dont see jagex releasing a ton of land just so that everyone can have one on their own distinct, entirely vissible land, although that would be cool it is entirely impractical and unlikely for jagex to do.

one last thought is that if jagex were to allow unprivate housing think of the lag problems. All the land payed for by players who stopped playing or are no longer members would still be in the name of that player. The new players would not have access to this unused land and would complain to jagex for more land to build upon. Jagex would do this probably and a never ending cycle would occur within runescape and ultimately the servers would not be able to handle all the housing. All we can do is wait and see what jagex has planned for there is no use argueing about what we do not know.

  5. my only problem with this is that who in jagex is going to be playing this character. I mean they all have their jobs to do working on the game. Would they be hiring someone to play as this character? That seems like a waste of money for them when they can just program an npc that has the power to use potions and stuff like that, and have player like stats.

  6. I have an idea for improved marketing but it would take a while for jagex to implement if they decided to. Basically, you have a special building in runescape (probably in varoock) called the market building. When you click on the door it asks you what Kind of stuff you are going to be trading. Example: armor, weapons, logs, mining stuff, ext. once you've selected what it is you want you will be teleported to a special room with other people buying and selling the same type of stuff. this could get rid of the all the other text you recieve selling and buying stuff that your not interested in. Then when someone trades you in the room the message is recieved outside the chat box as if it were split chat. this way you can easily click on it to accept the offering. Then if you accept it the chat box automatically becomes a private chat chat box with the other person trading, so as to discuss prices with the person trading with you without others talking. Once the trade is completed or declined the chat box returns to normal mode. Also, you leave via a door that teleports you back out. All players selling in wrong rooms may be reported and warned by jagex not to do so. This feature would probably be used mostly just on worlds 1 and 2.

    just a thought.
