Evermore - A really awesome laid back Kiwi band

Filter? I dunno if people still listen to these guys or not?

Mars Volta - Im sure people here listen to them, alot, but they are not quite mainstream but my god they are incredible.

  4. i have been waiting for this movie ever since i heard about its announcement, it looks absolutely brilliant. i love historical fiction, and i love the story of the 300. they were men who were chosen because they had already had sons to carry on the name, so it was a suicide mission basically, to ensure the rest of the spartan army could retreat. awesome storyline possibility

  5. my chemical romance - cancer

    Turn away,

If you could get me a drink

Of water cause my lips are chapped and faded

    Call my aunt Marie

Help her gather all my things

    and bury me

    in all my favorite colors,

my sisters and my brothers, still,

    I will not kiss you,

cause the hardest part of this,

    is leaving you.

    Now turn away,

cause I'm awful just to see

cause all my hair's abandoned all my body,

    Oh, my agony,

know that I will never marry,

Baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo

but counting down the days to go.

    It just ain't living

And I just hope you know

That if you say (if you say)

    Goodbye today (goodbye today)

I'd ask you to be true (cause I'd ask you to be true)

Cause the hardest part of this

    Is leaving you...

Cause the hardest part of this

    Is leaving you...

  6. im personally a historical fiction fanatic myself, i thrive on novels based in the Mediterranean era. my favourites are Conn Iggulden who wrote the Emperor series. it is based on julius caesars life, from birth to death..not 100% accurate but a bloody brilliant read. then i have all of Valerio Massimo Manfredi's books, i just picked up Spartan yesterday.. he is famous for his Alexander Trilogy... similar in style to emperor series, it follows Alexander the Great from birth to death. Also, David Gemmels (RIP) Troy books. Based in the times leading upto the Trojan wars, it offers insight into the lives of ficitional people but is based in fact. sadly he died before he could complete the trilogy. other sorts of books i like, The outsiders, based on a sort of gang rivalry between young kids called greasers and spocs, its a great read.

  7.

Well, I can prove I don't need the money. My family is fairly well off though we need to make at least $20,000 a month to pay our bills.

That's a little more than well-off. Like a little way more

    maybe $20000 viet dongs lol?

  8. Well, you tell me.

I gave up trying to have sex with every cute girl I meet for the sake of my girlfriend. For her part, she gave up being so uptight about me checking out other girls every now and then.

It's a wonderful relationship. We're secure enough about each other to let the little things slide. She knows I'll care for her no matter what, and vice versa.

    Plus she cooks good food.

the key in any good relationship :)

  9. i would thrive on the opportunity to go to gaul with Caesar and eventually cross the Rubicon, what a pivotal moment in history. Also to follow Alexander on his conquests, experience the Trojan wars, i would love to go back to the ancient Mediterranean world.

  10. god i hate that group. in fact, i hate all aussie hip hop, they are just tryin to be black. im goin to a festival on new years where they are playing, i might egg them or something. all aussie hip hop is bad, like butterfingers and bliss n esso. btw where are you from?

  11. i cant stand greenday. i never have been able too, the singers voice is so horrific, the bass player looks 80 years old and the drummer looks 8 years old, plus they do the whole mascara thing..terrible terrible band.

  12.

I actually like a few lyrics they have in songs. I prefer Frusciante's solo efforts but he basically is the RHCPs now anyway  If you look into the songs they do have meanings though (Not really the funk ones but the other type of songs they have example-Under the Bridge).

I was listening to Under the Bridge while reading that.

It sounds like just a love song to me, what meaning did you get out of it?

To me, under the bridge is about love, but not in a sexual way at all. It's about friends and the place that you call home.

its actually about his lowest point in life, where he went "under a bridge downtown" with his mexican dealer mario to shoot up their drugs. it expresses his feelings and tells us about his addiction. he loves the town he lives in as he grew up there but it has its downfalls. he says take me to the place i love, which isnt really a place, as he says in the funky monks dvd its where he is with his life, being sober and surrounded by people that love him and he loves.

no chili peppers lyrics are pointless, he is a poet, they are just cryptic.

Its about the time that John was very addicted, how he felt.

And for Californication, Anthony sings about the fact that every town in the world 'Acts' like california. Anthony says that every big town has a little bit of california in it.

No. Under the Bridge is about Anthony, not John. At all.
