That is not the point. The point is this: to become a superpower, you need to be a center for education, art, and culture. I dont see China contributing to any of those, and being isolated definitely does not help.
You want art and culture? We've got over 5000 years of art and culture behind us, more than almost any other country can say.

I mean human rights in their own country. Their own people need to be in "better" living conditions, or at least that's my opinion.
A superpower isn't just a military and economic superpower. It needs to be a place of art and culture. There needs to be some beauty there. If you're a superpower, chances are you have the best education and such there is. Other people want that.

Our living conditions are just fine, thank you. We don't exactly live in ghettos or are hunted by secret police everywhere.
And yes, a superpower is dependent solely on the one thing in the name : power. USA has culture based on praise of worthless celebrities and money and USA education is crap (have you seen the city schools?)
And no, we don't need approval from anyone else. We're doing just fine and we know it, and we don't need you or anyone else's opinion to feel better about ourselves.

But even if this is the case, I am not at ALL surprised that the Chinese have pulled off something like this. If they find a way to take advantage, they probably will do it. This is the state of the Chinese Society at the moment.

Wow China not doing good at the moment are they? First with all the children toys and their use of alot of lead in the paint. All this outsourcing is making mad since our economy is crap. First of all, outsourcing is not your fault in any way. If we can profit off your broken capatalistic system that only cares about profits, it's your own damn culture's fault.
And second, it's not Chinas "little trojan", ok? It's not as if there's this huge country of 1.7 billion people out to get your account.
Consider this... a lot of this "China" blame is government propaganda. All this blame put on China for toy recalls and poor manufacturing is a way of selling "CHINA IS BAD" to the American public. In truth, and the rest of the world will agree, China is a rising superpower and threat to the US.For those of you talking about "outsourcing"... that's just the government's deceptive word for "capitalistic competition." China just produces things cheaper and faster than us, that's not 'cheating.' As for jobs, blame India - many telemarketers and IT guys actually reside in India. THAT is outsourcing. Most of you are referring to the TRADE DEFICIT.
The trade deficit is the fact that the US is too lazy to make its goods and instead buys them from the rest of the world. That's no one's fault but the US's.
With that said, many Chinese ARE poor. And, it's sad that they have to resort to hacking gaming accounts for cash :shock:

Although once again, outsourcing is not India's fault, they took advantage of American companies' money grubbing and are willing and able to do the job for less money.
And as for the people who hack accounts and sell gold for a living, they view it as nothing more than selling a luxury product to rich kids. It's not sad in any way, because they have to make a living somehow, and if i knew my account was being hacked so someone could eat, then I'd rather have a family eat. I'd wager my account is worth approx 1200 yuan, enough for three people to eat for over 2 months.

I agree, that alot of stuff from China has been a bit odd, and i've seen a few things that we have in our house, or my baby sister has, and I really kinda freaked.

Are you so blind that you don't realize the media blows these events massively out of proportion and deliberately tries to make my country look bad, so their viewership goes up? Every major media outlet does this, whether it be in China, America, or elsewhere.

For bones and hides, green dragons are the fastest. Unless you have the 70 agility to use the the blue dragon shortcut in taverly dungeon; then it might be almost as fast.

I speak of the Alchemy portion of the Mage Training Arena.
I am burning up hundreds of nats while not getting very many points, even with alching only the 30 gp items and the free ones. Is there a method or trick that is faster or uses fewer nats?

Having people download songs exposes an artist to a huge worldwide audience, and if someone really likes their stuff they will, more often then not, go buy a CD or see a concert.
Ever since the beginning of downloading songs, the music industry's sales have shot through the roof.

I used to love skilling and up until a year or so ago it was favorite thing to do.
Nowadays though I just find it boring and pointless because combat for me is now more fun and a faster way to advance and make money. Occasionally I will still pick up my axe or harpoon but I become bored very quickly.

I'd just like to say i highly dislike the enormous popularity of poorly written junk animes, such as:
(Disclaimer this is just my opinion, don't hate it if you don't like it)
Naruto: The main chars are as far from ninjas as one can possibly get. Seriously. The Japanese people who make this are perpetuating an incorrect stereotype of what a ninja is. The characters are supremely annoying and the english voice acting fails more than Karl Rove.
Dragonball whatever: The plot consists of a boring circle of: peace, invasion by some totally ridiculous villan, training, lots of yelling and ego-bashing, then the good guy turn blond and win. Seriously, Goku spent 4 episodes standing there yelling and charging his big blue ball of doom.
One Piece: Decent, before the children's cartoon company of absolute evil (4-kids) got it's hands on it, turning a half decent show into a pile of poop. Poop with strechy arms.
Inuyasha: Kagome is supposed to be in middle school?! No middle school girl has that...developed. Seriously. Although i think the villans are pretty well-developed, if a bit cheesy. Oh and please stop talking to each other and just fight. Please. also, there is no reason to yell out the name of your attack before you do it. you could win so much easier if you didn't.
the above 4 are also all cliche, overdone, and have voice acting from hell.
And now, the awesome ones:
NGE: Amazing. Although i'm going to write my own episode where i kick shinji in the face. SERIOUSLY YOU PILOT A GIANT ROBOT QUIT BEING SUCH A WHINY LITTLE CHILD. *ahem*
FMA: Only drawback is that i don't like the main characters being so young. And that Al is so whiny occasionally.

Biologically, all two-sex species are inclined to find the other gender attractive so reproduction can occur.
Therefore, if someone is attracted to the same gender, there must be something wrong because attraction to the opposite gender is hard-wired into your brain.
It seems to me that homosexuality could be considered a genetic defect/disease if it is not a choice, or a psychological disorder if it is a choice.

It may seem to have a higher drop rate because one can kill so many shadow warriors very quickly, which, if they have an equal droprate as other monsters, would make them seem to drop them at a higher rate.

The elemental/mid shield is completely unnecessary because their ice attack (the one that can hit you for 50+, that the shield blocks) is melee based, mage dmg. so one can use full veracs or a defender and pray melee just fine and you will take little damage

Yeah, only in case of foreign invasion so that the citizens can defend themselves and form a militia...that clause is outdated and the only reason it still exists is because of gun companies and the NRA bribing congressmen.

If you know EVERY one of your neighbors has a gun in his/her house, you'll be much less motivated to break in or try to kill someone. That's how it is in Switzerland.
The reason every home has a gun is Switzerland is because every male under the age of 45 is a soldier; military service is compulsory. They are required to keep weapons in their home so the military can go into action in minutes in case of foreign invasion.
There aren't shootings in Switzerland because the people who have access to them (almost everyone) are disciplined soldiers and know what those guns are for.
However in America the culture is different and neither outlawing guns altogether nor giving everyone a gun is a viable solution. Rather, more education and research should be done into why shootings occur and how to prevent the vast majority of them.

Maybe some of you could try reading the book before immediately bashing it. Just because it is based in the Runescape world doesn't necessarily make it bad - some of the Halo books are actually quite entertaining.
It sounds to me like it's an adventure type novel written for entertainment - pretty normal, really.
