  1. Hey all, I'm starting to focus on dg until I reach 99. I'm currently lvl 88, cmb 138, total 2400. After a few days on w77, xp is pretty slow. So, I'm looking for anyone around/above my lvl that feels like grouping up and grinding out some floors. I can typically run from 9am-5pm cst, some nights. I'm not an expert by any means but I know what I'm doing for the most part. Feel free to pm me in game or just post here. Thank you.

    rsn: Mr Swagmore

    Let's grind! :twss:

  2. @Stev, I just finished grinding 99 construction and I'm looking to start dg'ing a lot. So, I was wondering if you had any advice on where to find good groups/chats/forums/etc. It feels like a waste of time/xp standing at w77 looking for randoms every time.

    Sorry to entrude gandalf.

  3. Resources are calculated when collected, hence you can swap just before collection to ensure biggest profit.

However approval rating is taken daily when the gp is.

The best way to think of mtk is like a shop of sorts.

Each resource has a gp value.

Each worker is given 5k a day.

When the workers are given this gp the approval rating dictates how much they keep for themselves vs how much they give to the resource fund.

This maths is done daily to build up the resource fund.

So day 1 you have 100% rating all 75k gets put into the fund.

Day 2 you have 99% rating so it takes 75k but only 74,250 gp is put in the fund so you have 149,250gp in the fund

Day 3 you have 98% rating so takes 75k but only 73,500 goes to fund giving you 222,750.

And so on and so forth.

This total builds up right up until the point you collect at which point it looks are what resource options you have picked and spends the gp there.

tl;dr - Approval rating is counted daily. Resources collected is only counted on collection

    Love the analogy. Kudos!

Might be a dumb question because I've never read up on MTK rules/info, but would it be more beneficial to keep your rating at 100% every day compared to just the day of collection? (not implying 0% until collection but anything less than 100 I guess)

  4. Don't suppose anyone has the equation for xp decline (as a function) from the previous weekends? I'd love to run the exact numbers, and I might see if I can get the equation anyway if no one has it.

I want to say, from the second BXPW, they posted on the front page the multiplier's depreciation rates. I'm interested to see the real numbers as well!

  5. Are you saying the players are not responsible for their own decisions?

Are you saying that Jagex is not subsiding and encouraging a particular behaviour and thus has no responsibility in this matter?

Jagex has absolutely no responsibility for the actions of their customers on how long and unhealthy they play. There is no penalty for players that do not participate in the BXPW. Jagex has stated plenty of times that playing this game is best done in moderation and to take breaks, etc etc. If ppl choose to nolife that weekend, it is 100% their own responsibility.

By your logic, gun makers are responsible for the killing (murders/accidents) of millions of people (civilians) every year? Or, I suppose Wal-Mart is responsible for the overspending of their customers on holidays when they have special sales? As a consumer, we all have full responsibility for our actions. This game is not an obligation, but a choice.

  6. Thus, bonus experience weekends are not new? Giving free players something this time is nice, but it is not difficult to see how these do more harm than good.

If you don't believe it is harming the game, at least see that events like this convince a minority to players to stay on for ridiculous hours to try gain the most benefit out of the 48 hours. Its not healthy.

You are 100% correct. They should only make the game playable for a total of 3 hours a day and the accounts be locked the other 21. Because having them available 24 hours convinces people to play as much as they can.

Rofl! This would kill RS. Please tell me you were joking.

  7. Please, whine more. Jagex has stated recently that the main reason for introducing SoF/SGS was to help them build a nest-egg to help pay for improvements to the game and its engine.

No one is rebelling against the sof or whining. We all benefit from better game improvements which they are reportedly using the funds on. But what people are trying to point out that they'd sell more if the content was more reasonable lower price. This is why you see more cat/fox/dog suits / teleports / emotes / etc than assassin and dwarven suits and even less achievement banners.

But then you have the gall to somehow equate not paying 20$ over any other costume value as being disloyal? Get real. There's only one person whining right now, and it's becoming a bit of a broken record i tell ya whut

(Please take careful note, I am trying to highlight where they have succeeded and failed with outfits and items. This is called constructive criticism.)

I agree, as well. They just need to find their equilibrium price that will maximize revenue.

From a business sense, it's smart to release this outfit "overly expensive". At least now, they will be able lower the price in the future to meet the cheaper demand. Conversely, customers never act nicely to price hikes :shame: .

  8. The sparkle pony also has a purpose and not just used for a cosmetic item, even though it looks badass.

The sparkle pony scales with your character, meaning as you unlock better flight ranks, your pony evolves into the next tier as well in terms of mount flight speed

    [spoiler=Sparkle Pony!]2uEEo.jpg

Lawl. The skeletal PvP dragon (forgot actual name) from WoW was waaayy more badass.

*Sorry for digressing from topic :D

  9. Ok, final challenge post lol. This one will give the best look at price differentials.

    250 concentrated gold mined

lvl 99 mining: 20,200 xp gained

    250 gold ore @ market price: 54,500gp

    challenge reward bag: 914gp + 26 mahogany plank( market price: 53,586gp) = what'dya know! 54,500gp lol, figured

@Platinum_Myr, yeah I felt the same way about the "days left"

P.S. where's my delve into daemonheim? where?

  10. Can't you just leave annoying skill challenges like Summer Pies in your daily challenge list, which should block out all future cooking challenges?

    a) all challenges disappear after 5 days of receiving them,

    b) you can have the same challenge twice.

I've had a challenge on my list for the past 6 days and it still says 4 days left. Any reason for it's continued existence??

  11. Haven't really been following this topic so not sure if it's been mentioned, but on page 2 of this thread Mod Jack says they are implementing a system that allows you to disable challanges in any skill you have 99 in,should make 120 dg alot easier if you're already maxed,dg challange every single day.

    [qfc]15-16-177-64025252[/qfc]

Praise be to Jack! This was my first thought on the first day of challenges when 4/5 of mine were for 99 skills that I had no interest in training. But then again, they would have to do something about your last sentence. Rather OP to allow dg tasks every day. But I'd be more than happy to log 200k+ dg exp every day from a task =P~

  12. Make 210 addy daggers. Bars cost 479,430gp total.

Xp gained (99 smithing): 33,679. Bag: 6,680 coins plus 40 frost d bones for total (current) gp: 470,400.

    Lost about 9,030gp

P.S. There should be some sort of forgiveness for items lost from strange rocks...

You're 99 already, so do you think the 47k xp is worth the 9k gp given the time you had to spend smithing them? I personally use the blast furnace, which should profit 158k gp so to me it's a nice challenge.

Obviously wasn't completing this task for the xp... <.<

Just thought I'd share the difference in price of GE and taskmaster's reward.

@Noctis, well I bought the bars and immediately made the daggers/turned in the task, so I'm not sure it would update that quickly. Unless it so happened to update as soon as I did, idk.
