  1. Event is over, this thread may be locked. Thank you to all those who attended!

    NovaSig1.jpg

Nova invites you to our next Global Event, the ninth one! We aim for Global Events to have a high attendance and be a place where different clans, teams and players can meet each other, advertise themselves and form new friendships and alliances. Absolutely everyone is welcome! Show us what you're made of! Do invite your friends and allies! Have a good time!

If you're part of a clan or a team and you're all coming, do let us know!

The premise of the event is simple, we will be attempting to kill every boss at GWD. While the idea is that we're all in the same Friends Chat(s), every single person can choose to stick to their preferred boss, and move to another one (or all of them!) anytime they desire and hopefully find a team for them already there. The more people attending, the more likely that will be! The aim is to take over GWD in that world and have a blast while doing so!

    The Info:

    What: W79 GWD Takeover

When: Saturday, September 1st, 8:00 PM EST (September 2nd, 1:00 AM BST)

    Where: GWD, W79

Friends Chat: Nova Events (subject to change depending on owner's availability at the time of the event, pop into Clan Chat "Nova" as a guest at the time of event and ask us about the FC in use if in doubt). Everyone will be ranked (smiley face) for the purposes of LS/CS.

Equipment: If possible, your best gear!

Who: YOU! (and everyone else too!)

We will be starting at GWD, get your kill count, then move to your boss of choice.

    Event Rules:

    1. Please remain in the designated Friend Chat (or any flood friend chats depending on the turnout). This is where information will be given out during the event, so it is vital that everyone remain in one of them.

    2. Please do not use offensive language or illustrations in the friends chat or public chat and refrain from spamming/flooding with unnecessary messages. All Jagex rules must be followed.

    3. During the event, please private message Connor, Marc, Sharon, or Banim if you have any questions rather than filling up the clan chats with them.

    4. Please do not ask to be ranked, the owner of the Friends Chat will take care of that ASAP. If it's taking too long for some reason, then do feel free to ask to be ranked.

    5. Have fun!

    Contact Info:

If you require further information about this event, please post on this thread or contact Banim, Marc, Sharon, or Connor!!

    Nova Ftw!

A well-established family clan, Nova is a collaborative enterprise which offers endless opportunities to all of our members. As a family, we value all of our siblings and treat them with the utmost respect.

Our hobbies range from one extreme to another, which is reflected in our diverse event schedules. Weekly, Nova holds at least thirteen events at various times to suit our EST and GMT player base. Along with events, we encourage intimacy with the use of clan chat, Voice over IP services, relay chat, social media, and exclusive forums.

    We are strong.

    We are loyal.

    We are friends.

    We are family.

    We are NOVA!

    Forever burning... like nothing else.

    ...

    Seriously. ©

    Quick Facts:

So... what kind of events does Nova offer? How do these work?

    • Events everyday (except most Sundays), aimed at both GMT and EST based players, at consistent times: GMT events happen at 9:00 PM GMT, EST events at 7:30 PM EST. We also host a few extra midnight EST events.
    • Impromptu event support. In other words, players might wish to organise "unofficial" events on the spur of the moment, not scheduled by the leaders, and turn them into official events easily which will count towards their event activity tally.
    • Events include all sorts of activities (Castle Wars, Stealing Creation...), PvM (God Wars Dungeon, Corporeal Beast...), PvP (Clan Wars), skilling (Invasions of popular training spots, Nova Skill Competitions), "Nova originals" (fun stuff we make up! Want to impersonate Rebecca Black and remind people IT'S FRIDAY!?), Global Events (miscellaneous large events where we invite a lot of people. Mid-ranked members can help with making these happen by participating actively!) and some other surprises!
    • Despite all that, no event requirements! Highly advised that you come to some from time to time, though! Especially during your trial period.
    • Our citadel is up and running! We have our own Citadel forum for any comments, feedback, questions and suggestions you might have regarding it. Not only is your help gathering resources welcome, your ideas to shape it are welcome too! Contributing to the citadel is also a great way to show activity within the clan!
    • Also, we like to party!

    What makes Nova special?

You really want to know? Well... prepare to be utterly amazed!!! When you click the following spoiler, that is!

Here are some examples of why Nova is 1337! Some of these pics are old, some are newer, but fun nonetheless! Thanks to all the former and current members who contributed with these, there were a lot (trust me!) to choose from!

  3. I also had the attack option outside of the house and I didn't use it. So don't go saying it's something that "although you did what any person in your shoes would have".

He unfairly ruined many people's work and time. It's not something to be happy or proud of.

This is not a legend, this is a shame. There is a difference between those two words.

  4. I was crafting laws, banking in Draynor, and this guy was always saying:

    "Buying papuryas!!!!!!"

    "Pls anyone sell papuryas!!"

While my english is very decent, I had no idea (nor I have) of what does that meant.

Each time I used my glory from the Law altar, I thought "There we go again with the papuryas"...

  5. I can't blame you for choosing a future instead of a game, but if I'm not mistaken, you were a Player Mod. You accepted the invitation, and then basically you backstabbed Jagex. I'm not judging you, but I think being invited to form part of one of the two Mod teams is an honour. And you were trusted aswell to help in Tip.it, but your views on these cases may be different than mine.

I hope you luck, but I hope you figured out and learned the lesson.

  6. You obviously missed the point at what I was getting at. Which can can understand to a certain degree. I'll try and explain.

They make mistakes in the game all the time. Pest Control is a prime example of this. Its just about damn time that they make a mistake that reflects how bad of a job they are doing.

Its bad karma (sp?) in a sense, is what I'm getting at. I figured since there are a lot of people promoting karma on this forum that the mass majority would get it... guess I was wrong.

Surprised it didn't happen sooner then this. They kept promoting the forums as the safest out there. That would have been the perfect time for someone to do something to shut them up (or prove them wrong).

Exploits are bound to happen. And guess what? Its because of bad planning.

I disagree to some extent. Jagex been going longer than these forums in the making. They i guess intitled to a few small mistakes. NOT all bugs and glitches can be caught before release, compilers etc that i use for a online game i work for , doesn't always show up everything before a release and some bugs simply don't show until the script is active in game.

Bad planning? I think not at all from them. Nor do i feel they have to explain what went wrong.

I think personally alot of users here are making a mountain out of a mole hill here over what happened. We all make mistakes and we only human!

They are still i feel the most secure forums you can use.

As a reminder to all, you welcome to talk about what happened within reason, but please do not show any screenshots from Jagex boards showing what happened

You have a point, and I hate to argue with you Lightning, but if they had a finalized version of in game updates and actually play them through, there probably would be half as many problems as there are. Its just like testing games for Playstation or any computer game. I'm not suggesting they don't test at all... but they need to be doing it on a larger scale. Having one person test isn't going to work obviously.

You get what is to be believed a final version (a beta if you will...). Then they test it and supply the developers with the bugs. Obviously some bugs will still be in, but not near as many as what Runescape gets. And the Pest Control deal was just horrible... And the scary thing is that they probably aren't done changing the game around.

Whether the RSO forums are most secure... thats not really up for debate in my opinion.I'm sure there are more exploits that no one even knows about. And when someone gets mad at Jagex for making "bad" decisions... They'll seek out those exploits and use them again.

As far as making a mountain out of a mole hill... Any form of security breech should be a cause for concern... or in this case a good ol' fashion roast.

Actually the new forums were tested by the forum mods, so thats what, 50+ testing them? They were also run past the QA team as well.

Ingame updates are thoroughly tested by QA but they simply do not have the amount of staff that can be matched to the players ingame, so some bugs slip through.

The rs forums are far more secure than most forums you will visit, every forum has problems, deal with it.

You just seem to like arguing really.

I agree with Lightning and Frizoid.

This proves they are human, they make mistakes, some of these mistakes are bad, but... Nobody is perfect. I can say they tried their best with the new forums.

I quote from the sticky at Forum Feedback, on RS official forums:

"On the 25th of April we experienced some technical difficulties with the Runescape forums, these difficulties resulted in our forum users being given a gold crown and a yellow background as well as temporary access to certain non critical Forum Moderator privileges.

This has since been fixed and we apologise for any inconvenience that this situation may have caused you."

Regarding what they are going to do with people who abused this, users who used the tools to abuse other users will indeed be punished.

  7. I have to agree with some points of this article.

You can't really say if Customer Support sucks or not if you haven't see some of the work from inside. As a Runescape F-Mod, I can say they do the best they can, I can say they care a lot, but as said in the article, with the amount of players there is in the game, it's impossible to deal with every single problem.

There is more work than meets the eye.

  8. I seem to notice that Romeo in varrock square is holding flowers and got a new suit??

Is this new or a long time ago?

The whole quest has been revamped. I did it in my noob account. It has now some nice cutscenes.

  9. In response on some posts:

While I have done the new quest and I have the Barrows gloves, I still want to get a Fire Cape. Not only for the "status symbol", also for the stats. The gloves and the cape combined are a very good bonus.

And those who complained about not being able to bring the Fire Cape to Castle Wars, for example, now have the Dragon and Barrows gloves.

I think the Fire Cape should be easier to replace if you lose one, but that's another topic.

Also keep in mind that Dragon and Barrows gloves are hard to notice when someone is wearing them. The Fire Cape hardly goes unnoticed.

To the author of the thread:

You think that the stats and requirements are umbalanced, and the Fire Cape is too hard to get compared to the new gloves. I have to agree with that to some point and I understand you, as I spent one month to get full Infinity at the Mage training arena to find out yesterday that the new gloves have better stats than the Infinity gloves... So getting the gloves was a waste of time... Basically the whole training place was all a waste of time if it wasn't for the crazy Magic exp.

But I always have one thing in mind. The game is not only about stats, it's also about achievements. I'm sure people would be more proud about getting the Fire Cape than finishing this long quest to buy some gloves that you can't almost see, although the stats are great.

  10. Actually part of this is against the rules. Saying that you'll pay someone after they do something is against Jagex's rules. Similar to how the barrows lotteries (you give ppl supplies, they "honestly" give you all the loot) all got stopped. Jagex doesn't want any trades to have to rely on ppl's honesty, so they would take action against the bounty HQ that "promises" to pay after you kill a certain person.

I'm not guaranteeing they will ban them, but I'm just saying Jagex is against this, so it does have some truth.

Plus it's against the official RuneScape forums' rules to place bounties on players. However I don't know anything about this falling under rule 2.
