  1.

Ya true, there is no counter point for this-from what I've seen.

Anyone have a counter to Fighter Torso being unfair to Pkers?

Simple. If you die with fighter torso, it disappears. If someone killed you, that someone can collect a certain amount of money. Maybe release a PKers guild or something.

And this could also apply to rune defender, maybe you get 20k for killing someone with a defender.

Same could also be for skill capes. Give the killer 75k or so.

Well at the moment, Pking is not profitable at all :| (at my level) unless I get whips.

  2. The reason jagex made the fighter torso (and so many other excellent combat items) untradable is because they rather have players work for their items.

With the barrows gloves, rune defender, fighter torso and more, jagex decided that, instead of buying everything they own, players would now have to spend time obtaining it.

They most likely considered that it would lessen the profits of pking, but they opted that too many players would simply "buy their way through the game". Instead, they would rather have players spend their time obtaining what they could potentially loose. In other words, pking has now become more of a loss (time-wise) of the pked, and less of a gain for the pker.

I believe that jagex's decision was wise concerning untradable items. Being rich is beginning to have less benefits then it did before (you can't buy a fire cape). I assume jagex chose this direction because, eventually, players' ultimate goal won't be making millions through merchanting, it will be obtaining rare, powerful untradable armor (like most mmorpgs). I strongly believe that many more of these items are to come.

This is killing the one unique thing about their player combat system; when you kill someone you keep thier items. The way it's going, people will be Pking in 70 defense armor and such, and thier only loss if they die will be a dagger.

  3. I think it has. It's just one more item that gives good bonuses, that when you die with it, you can get it back, free of cost. How, might you ask?

Let's say I have one, and am fighting in Edgeville. Someone kills me! What do I do? I sprint to the Fally Bank, grab a Glory Amulet, tele back to edgeville, and PICK IT UP FROM THE GROUND. This is horrible! Why should melee get ANOTHER item (Barrow Gloves, Rune Defenders, and now Fighter Torso\ Fighter Helms) that when they die with it, you can't get it? With the price of sharks and arrows being so high, it's not profitable at all to PK. It's even worse for meleers I'm sure.

My question is, do you think Fighter Torsos are good or bad for the Wild? I say bad of course, anyone else agree with me?

  4. Only think about Farming I do not like is the length in time that is required to level it up. I did, however, get from 1-30 the day it came out, but since then have only gotten my level to 64. The main problem is the only fast way to level is from trees, which are too costly IMO.

  5. The lvl 5 mod (Who uses these forums) and I are friends.

I'd probably cry. Literally. I know it sounds... lame, but it is a privilage. I cried when I got my first mime event after 3 yrs. of playing, and me never having one never since they came out. If I got my first mime event a week ago, I'd be lucky to get accepted as a mod in 6 yrs. from now. But all I know is I'd take the responsibility, and take down the autoers/rule breakers I see when no mods are around, and can't do anything about it.

But the good thing of having a p-mod as a friend is you can pm them and they can take care of it.

    :XD: :XD: :XD:

Sorry, but that sounds so funny. If I got accepted as a player mod, I'd be pretty happy, but I wouldn't cry :XD: .
