  1. Half wines are 2b-2.2b if anyone is interested.

Torva plates are at a ridiculous price of around 4.5b at the moment. Sellers can basically ask for however much they want. Last known plate was sold 4.8b.

Divines buy on GE for 1.075, I heard. Not verified.

    Crackers are 5.5b+

Players who are willing to pay 4.5b for 1 item have something to tell about the history of that cash. That amount can't been made on an honest way imo.

    pffffffffffffffffffffffffft

There are people who got to 91 rc early when it was excellent money, and then hired a lot of runners and made insane amounts of money that way. They then invested in then-cheap partyhats/crackers-- lots of them. If they still have them today...

That's just one example of how someone could have attained 4.5b honestly.

My Blue, White, Green and Purple Phats were obtained in just about this exact fashion. In the last two years, I've paid for the rest of my skills with money obtained from merching and pvm and I haven't dipped into my investments I made 5+ years ago. I was 192nd to 91 RC btw.

  2. IMO, Jagex has been been planning on bringing back free trade/old wildy for months, long before the first poll. The poll was used as a gimmick to generate hype for Jagex but they've been prepared with the coding for a while. Now they're milking it for what they can and they'll bring it back right around the same time they announce another bonus XP weekend. It'll be 6 months since the last one in March, right? Timing seems to add up. IMO, they want to do another BXPW but don't like the chaos it caused in the non-free trade economy. What better way to have the "best update of the year" by announcing free trade and BXPW at the same time?

  3. I'd like to see it happen, eventually. But first I'd like each skill to have content up to level 99 before any skills are talked about being increased to 120. If it does happen, I'd like to see it happen one of two ways.

My preferred release of levels beyond 99 would be incremental. Jagex could "surprise" us with a new level cap of 100 in all skills (regardless of new level 100 content or not) with an announcement of a 120 skill cap in the distant future. They should then release skill caps in between (101, 102, 103, etc.) every other month along with new content for each skill above 99. Each skill wouldn't need content at every level above 99 but at least one new thing every 5 levels or so. Taking 40 months to go from a skill cap of 100 to 120 with new content for each skill along the way would be a great way to encourage people to play the entire time. I'd also like to see a lot more untradeable content because those make the game more fun IMO.

The other way I could see Jagex bringing all skills to a level 120 cap is by doing each skill individually or in small groups. If they chose this method, I'd start with releasing 120 combats (Atk, Str, Def, Hp, Mage, Range) to start. This would really create chaos for the game for a good amount of time, but if they released new bosses to go along with higher combat stats, I think people would accept it better. The next batch could then be combat related skills (Prayer, Summoning, Slayer). After that I'd like to see the F2P non-combat skills (Cooking, Crafting, Firemaking, Fishing, Mining, Runecrafting, Smithing, Woodcutting) come next, preferably in two batches. Lastly add the P2P non-combats (Agility, Construction, Farming, Fletching, Herblore, Hunter, Thieving), again in two batches. The spacing between each batch could be 6 months to allow for new content in each skill and it would take 3 years to get all skills to a new cap of 120.

Either way, I see it as an inevitability that Jagex makes new skill cap of level 120, it's only a matter of time. I think the best approach is to first have content released along with new skill caps so it doesn't feel like just another longer grind for a pointless level number. I'd also like to see Jagex stretch out the increasing of level caps. Worthwhile rewards for obtaining level 100+ is also a must IMO (ie. untradeable content).

  4. How should I go about cycling through all the setups needed for God Jads? It was said that you only need 2 correct ones to get a hint, but I've cycled through all Habitat/Flower combinations but no hints. I've logged out and did it again but still now. I do have a tree and bush planted, could those being wrong get in the way of me getting hints? Or should I make those empty and then cycle through what exactly?

EDIT: I used a potion on my flower patch before I cycled through everything, but that didn't seem to help.

  5.

They're trying to get them to 22k. Ranks are dumping at 14k. I would sell around then. DOUBLE CHECK FOR YOURSELF, this is just a pal of mine who's friends with one of the generals telling me this.

Personally I'll just keep my brews... I have a few thousand but I can't be bothered with selling them.

[bleep]ing manipulator scumbag mother[bleep]ing [bleep]s. Why can't Jagex ban these [bleep]ing [wagon]? This doesn't personally affect me because I don't consume brews at a regular rate, but the premise of raising something that is very commonly used from around 6k each to 14k each (over DOUBLE its price) is [bleep]ing ludicrous. EVERYBODY suffers just so some greedy [bleep]ing back-stabbing nerds can make bank. [bleep] Jagex for making a system as fatally flawed as the GE and [bleep] these scumbags for taking advantage of it.

    You mad bro?

    No, he's right imo.

Price manipulation hurts everyone except the ranks of that particular cc.

(and maybe some taking advantage of temporary higher prices)

99% unhappy, 1% happy (among them some RWT'ers who bought ranks in that cc) -> wrong imo.

Also, judging by the amount of rares Mr. Gandalf has (if his sig is accurate), he's probably one of them.

Been playing since 2001, obtained all my discontinueds in my sig, not counting multiples prior to '07. If you want someone to blame, look no further than Jagex. It's their flawed GE system that allows manipulators to take advantage of these flaws and Jagex is too lazy to do anything about it. I don't like manipulators any more than the next guy but I've been around long enough to see Jagex's ineptitude in trying to create a far market system.

Ah, well I apologize for assuming, then. And yes, I'd actually be very afraid if Jagex did say they were working on trying to fix the loopholes in the GE that allow price manipulation-- Jagex has repeatedly shown they know very little about simple economics, and would therefore be likely to [bleep] things up worse than they already are if they tried to implement a "fix."

Kudos to a fellow '01 player, though  I was around for the tradable discontinued drops (including crackers) but traded all mine away before the end of RSC.

Opening crackers was a fun day. I actually dropped my phats (had 8 or so) for bank spaces for quest items. I didn't play all that much during the RSC days, but bought a couple phats when RS2 came out and have upgraded/bought more ever since.

  8. I'm excited to see Dung XP rates and floor strategies. Anyone else think high level dungers will c1 rush 1-41, 45-47 (to skip thunderous' prep time) and do 5:5 large 42-44, 48+? But I'm sure plenty of the best clans can do Thunderous with no prep.

The teams I'm in personally don't prep for thunderous anymore.

5 people with 99 full prayer, should be able to kill thunderous before the prayer runs out, even without pots.

necrolord has the most prep time and kill time now tbh =\

i heard that mod emilee raged at necrolord though, so here's a toast to jagex nerfing him next update :P

I've yet to team with 5 people who are experienced at Thunderous, so you're prolly right. Usually it's one or two people killing him requiring a few rejuv pots. In that case, I wonder what floors the 120 dungers will c1 rush. Maybe 1-47? lol

  9. Now we're talking, bladewing :)

I like your first solution, but it has one drawback; it would quickly kill the popularity of PVP worlds as it is no longer a good money maker... The 2nd solution seems rather complicated, I'll have to think it out a bit...

But how do you like the solution I advocated a year ago? Replace the statuettes to some extent (l;eave just enough to compnsate what the dead person was wearing), and drop items that have no impact on the economy at all. I am talking about more 100% degradable items (such as Vesta's or Zuriel's or Corrupt Dragon or Brawlers) or more consumables (such as extreme potions or high level food)...

People will still get the same amount of "GP" dropped, but instead of actual GP, it will be items that they can sell, and those tiems will eventually dissapear from RuneScape again (aka GP neutral, unless alched)...

How about a cross between Blade's first idea and the current coinshare system? When a person dies in PvP, their highest valued item (GE value) is sold instantly in GE and the minimum GE value of that item becomes the highest possible drop for the victor. With higher EP you have a higher chance of getting the max drop possible. For example I kill a guy who has an AGS, which he loses and it is sold instantly on GE for 67M. My highest possible reward then becomes 63.6M and because I have 75% EP (I don't PvP so I have no idea about correct EP numbers) and just happen to get very lucky this time, my drop is 34M GP. This would be a net drain of 33M from the game.

I'd also like to see more degradable items as rewards in PvP.

Edit: You wouldn't get coins from every PvP kill but rather it just becomes a possible reward. You could get items like Vesta instead.
