  1. Melee is still superior to range, as it should be. Mages on the other hand will get owned by rangers. Triangle is restored.

    THis was a horrible horrible comparison.

     

     

     

    If you only take into account the 78 range look at it this way.

     

     

     

    a lvl 108 ranger should have 99 def 99 hp 99 range and about 80+ prayer

     

    IF you disagree type that into a combat calc with 74 att 74 str.

     

     

     

    THe ranger was actually a melee pure, that prolly just bought the bow for fun. He was also a prayer newbie, which suggests he is also likely unexperienced pker. Or atleast an un experienced range pker.

  2. The real problem is that there are no viable crush/stab weapons.

     

     

     

    Sadly, the dds is primarily used only because of it's specials.

     

    As for the D mace it is rarely used because, it swings slow, is innacurate, and isn't very powerful specials aside.

     

     

     

    We need good stab Crush weapons especially on f2p. And a little diveristy with f2p armour.

     

    I suggest raise square shields above kites in slash, and Medium helms above rune larges in Slash.

  3. Ever get the feeling its uselless using the stab feature on a rune long? or the crush feature on a b axE? or a rune dagger or rune short whate so ever?

     

     

     

    This is because jagex never properly implemented stab slash and crush.

    seems like a good time to use stab or crush against them.

    Seems like a good time to use slash or crush.

     

     

     

    Then create stab slash and crush weapons of similar quality. This way stab slash and crush weapons are usefull and serve a purpose.

     

     

     

    That way you use the weapon that suits your adversary. And if you use an item like a longsword, the stab slash combo is actually of some use.

     

     

     

    It also means that pkers will diversify the weapons they use, and finally utilize the other weapons. A good example of an easy update is this.

    Rune square has no redeeming qualities whate so ever, coincidentally almost no one uses it. This is a simple idea and fits perfectly with the rs2 combat system. Most people use scimmy, which means people would actually consider using the square shield. AND the shield is weaker to stab and crush.

     

     

     

    The idea of stab slash and crush simply must have trade offs.

  4. If jagex wants to improve the combat system they should implement one single thing.

     

     

     

    Creating a high slash def armour set

     

    creating a high stab defence set.

     

    creating a high crush def set.

     

     

     

    Then create comparable weapons that actually make you take into account your upponents armour.

     

     

     

    So far stab slash an d crush are utterly failed. Jagex loves to make one weapon that makes every other obsolete. every one uses a scimmy in f2p because crush is utterly worthless. no one uses the stab feature on a rune long or a rune short because its failed.

  5. Um i remember i really liked pumpkins. I was about lvl 20 when they were dropped. I was training in karamja volcano on skeletons. I bought i think 2 for about 100gp each. Then ate them as training food.

     

     

     

    But the item i most treasured was my rune large. I paid 130k for it. Back in the day it was hard to get, and 130k was actually a lot of money. I was super proudf, then walked into the wilderness. Iether way i got attacked, i decided to attack someone else to help me escape. After getting skulled i managed to run down to lvl 3 wild. i was about to start boasting when i discovered he could kill me there too.

     

     

     

    I died and lost full rune(no kite) and quit for several months.

  6. I am usually interested in your calc's and special calc's but i disagree.

     

     

     

    I think this program misses its mark.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I think you should enter the percentage of xp that effects hp. If your training attack from lvl 10 to lvl 60, the calculator should calculate how much of your exp is from combat, and how much is from pc points. That way you can identify approximatly how much hp xp gain you have.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I get 75% of my xp from pest control points

     

     

     

    i get 25% from regular combat.

     

     

     

    I need 272000 xp to go from 10 to 60.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    so that tells me i will get 272000*0.25= 68147 xp from combat.

     

     

     

    raising my hp xp by 22715 xp

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Now, i dont wanna do all the math, but in order to gather 272000*0.75 = 204000 xp from pc points, your calc should also say how many points that is.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    So instead of typing in how many points we wan't to collect... allow the user to type in their desired level instead.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    personally i dont think the pest control calc is functioning as the creator intended

    OK Heres a HUGE tip to for tip.it

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Dont simply round the max hit answer.

     

     

     

    IF you do 18.32097 damage, show 18.3, that helps explain how close you are to 19. IT helps immensley because people arent deafly looking for their next max hit.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I built my own max hit calcs, their is another HUGE HUGE tip.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Display several damage type's at once, for example...

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    74 strength and 99 strength bonous do

     

     

     

    21.2 Natural

     

     

     

    25.3 super potted

     

     

     

    24.3 with +15% prayer

     

     

     

    28.3 max

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    That way it is far more aesthetically pleasing, and also avoids constantly flipping back and forth. Instead of checking how much you do potted, then how much you do max, and then adjusting your str lvl and re doing the entire process.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I dont share any calculators i make. at this point i dont even have a range max hit.

    the guy used tb on me then died, dropping 4 dragon longs

     

     

     

     

     

    then he switched chars and logged onto an ancient mage.

     

     

     

    i realized right away what he was doing, and immediatly dropped the dragon longs. lucky me ^^
