Hey guys, I'm just now returning to Runescape. I have a combat level 56 character that I made previously. He was kind of an all around melee character. He wasn't a pure. Now I came back and I started leveling a pure ranger. Now obviously, you gain combat levels through leveling up your other abilities. My question is this, my level 56 has not leveled ranged at all. Now if i started leveling it, I know that it wouldn't be as good as my pure ranger obviously. But how much worse would it be in comparison to if they were at eventually the same level? My other question is, I don't believe the lower levels on ranged would level my character at all. In this case, how would it really effect my combat level. I guess all of these questions can just be summed up if I knew how exactly you gained combat levels in relation to your other abilities. I don't believe it is a direct relation, but I could be wrong and I was curious if I could have some light shed on this topic.

Ok well I can anwser some of your questions, Range doesnt level up your combat untill it is 1.5 times higher then both your attack and str together.

 

 

 

And i might aswell explain that every 4 attack and str levels you gain, is a combat level, and same with hitpoints and defence. prayer, well I dont know the prayer level up system but you could allways ask somebody else.

 

 

 

And your main could be still a "good" depending on what you want him for, if its just for monster killing or questing then the more levels the better. but for pking generally people like specific stats. Try the graveyard help and advice if your leaning more towards the pking.
