I noticed that on the help page for the Arzinian mines, it says that the only way out of the mine is to remove your gold helmet - which means you need to leave 1 inventory space free.

 

 

 

However, as an alternative and to keep that extra space, you can log out, and straight away log back in again, and your character appears outside the mine. You then end up with a nice round 25 ores when you pay the ferryman.
