Good non-Barrows equip for Barbarian traing dungeon?

I'm 113 and going down there nearly got me killed by water fiends, wearing full rune.

 

 

 

Is the water fiend attack mage or ranged?

 

 

 

I just want to go down and get the bones I need for the pyre, then never go down again.

 

 

 

Are 'chewed bones' or 'mangled bones' always dropped or do I need to kill barbarian until they drop some?

considering there an element, id use elemental sheild, and only mith drags drop chewed bones.

For the firemaking section of Barbarian training:

 

 

 

You must first find the bones of barbarian heroes. These can be found as drops in the Ancient Cavern. Be warned that you must find 'chewed bones' rather than 'mangled bones'. Mangled bones are the remains of barbarians whose spirits are maddened by their imprisonment within the caves. Burning Mangled bones will reward you with a spectral assault!

yeah, chewed bones are a drop from mith drags, and im pretty sure they arent 100%. you burn them and then get items.
