00bagel
ive always wondered this, now read it slow because its hard to explain. what decides what items a monster drops. lets say i killed a monster and it dropped a steel kiteshield, if we went back in time and someone else killed THAT SAME MONSTER would they get the same kiteshield. does the drop depend on the player, or the monster, or is it completly random. is there a way to test it? worecx
I think when a monster respawns it automaticly has a item in it... so i think everyone will get ''the iron dagger out of the goblin'' :)
00bagel
but how does that work with the ring of wealth
book_of_metal
if i know how this works, which i think i do when a monster spawns, the item/s drop will have alreday be detrimened. ring of wealth atctavates part of some code changing the monsters drop Check out my 50M+ Blog
Berrakus
As a programmer, it makes a lot more sense to determine the drop after the person has killed it (so that things like Ring of Wealth can be taken into effect). But only Jagex knows for sure. Dragon Drops - 10 Meds, 9 Legs, 5 Skirts, 2 Left HalfPM me to have any potions made or crafting done
Primeaction
im pretty sure if when a monster spawns, the drop is random and the ring of wealth makes the chances of getting a better drop come out. lets say the chances of you getting a dragon full helm from a mith dragon was 1 to 100000. using ring of wealth may change that to 2, 3, or 4 etc. i honestly have no evidence to my thoughts but if i was a programmer, its how i would run my game  Not all F2Pers are beggars or scammers, some are respected members, but these respected people are over-populated by these beggar and scammers.
