I think you need to get your defense up before you can use melee. Otherwise, with your prayer level, you will have to go through a load of ppots per trip. I would get your slayer up to 55 and use slayer dart.

You could easily melee once you got 70 defence.

Once you get 70 defence, if you want to melee the brothers, you should use Veracs. I'm not sure when meleeing them with whip becomes worthwhile since I've never heard much about it.

 

 

 

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=485559 -- this guide helps quite a bit for Veracing barrows. If you want to melee them with a whip and Torags, well, I can't really help you there since I've never tried it.
