Suggestions on video editing software

Featured Replies

I have been using windows movie maker for about a year now. I am finally fed up with it and am going to buy a new video editing program

any suggestions?

I make real life videos for youtube and runescape videos (if that would make a difference in the program to get)

I also would like to have lots of special effect filters :

ok well i tried sony vegas (with the 30 day trial) and as soon as it opened i knew it wasn't the right program for me. i worked at it for about an hour and gave up. It was was too confusing for me. I need something a bit more basic (like windowns movie maker) but with a better selection of effects and better editing tools
