Angelsbane
when it comes to runescape, jagex is always changing things. weither they are updateing old things or creating new ones, not everyone will like it. when a new quest comes out people will either give their complaments to jagex for a job well done, or they will rant about how its too hard/easy or too high/low leveled. i myself an in the later group with more than 50% of jagex's updates. lets take a look at the pros and cons of the shop update shall we? Pros  1. macroers can't just buy runes, feathers, etc and sell them for profit to real runescapers. 2. you can now acctually buy items from the shops insted of players. 3. you can buy as many of an item as you want and the shop will never run out. cons :x 1. merchants can't but items and make a profit. 2. i personally bought items from shops because they were cheaper than players sell them for, even if they are in small amounts. now the items are higher than what players sell them for to make up for the infinant stock. (granted the high price is needed so runecrafters dont lose their livelyhoods.) 3. infinant food items could ruin the food economy. untill jagex removed the food from the warriors guild people were buying the equivalent(sp?) of a monkfish for under 100gp each. whats more is that there are food items that heal nearly the same amount as popular foods like lobs and monks that are sold much cheaper. 4. some items that people use in their livelyhoods have been removed from shops all togeather. battlestaffers now need start lunar diplomasy to buy the staves and gather their own seaweed from spawns or fishing. based on this you can see that there are both good and bad points to this update. in this case however the bad points acctually invole peoples jobs being affected in a negative way. it seems that anything done by jagex to stop rule breakers hurts many more people than it helps. just like the way they stopped x-logging. many people didnt even know about it and yet they still decided to make a way for people to be attacked even if they are already in combat. now green dragon slayers are being put at more risk when they decide to go dragon slaying or to kill basically anything in the wild. i realize that jagex is doing the best they can, but the game itself is loseing the allure it first had when i started playing. its been over a year since the last mournings end quest, not that i mind too much seeing as how i hate agility, but i am anxious to see what happens next in this quest series. same thing with the rise of the red axe. i realise that the mournings end quest may take a while but its already been a year! the last good update in my opinion.... acctually i cant remember a good update its been so long. the god wars dungeun was ok, but they could have atleast give people the option to fight the bodyguards alone or the general alone. so my answer to the question i asked is... i think that jagex is doing the an ok job, but i would prefer if they steped it up when it came to fun updates insted of focusing on piddly crap like macros and x-logging. they could have atleast put a sell all option. there are many other updates that i think had potential but failed, however i will turn the discussion over to you, and ask you all the question, how do you think jagex is doing? what updates do you like/dislike/see wasted potential in? what thing has jagex ignore regardless of haw many people mention it? how would you do things differently?
