r2d2
alright, I've set up apache, registered the domain, pointed the dns to a ddns program, the router is set for port forward 80 and 443, apache works from 127.0.0.1, and from 192.168.2.x, and even from the domain name on that computer, but from other computers it shows "cannot connect to server". Any ideas what's wrong? it's running apache 2.2.6, windows xp, and a Belkin F5D5230-4 router, if you need that. Aznhuskarl
The Firewall(s) or the SE Linux security may have blocked your DNS and your web site. Try to turn one of these off. EDIT: it's running apache 2.2.6, windows xp, and a Belkin F5D5230-4 router, if you need that. Oops, never mind. Ignore the linux part. -=Aznhuskarl=- Cleric-=20Cent=- JuggernaughtMore to come... Collective
It's most likely your router. Open its configuration page and ensure that port 80 is forwarded to the local (LAN) IP of your server. I believe Belkin routers call this setting "Virtual Servers." Also make sure your domain resolves to your external (WAN) IP, not the local one. Finally note that some ISPs block connections to customers on port 80.
