than resell it for max market price at G X? aka, Grand Exchange.

Reselling the same item at grand exchange has a time limit on it. Unless you were able to buy off all the lower end priced units, creating a larger demand, there wouldn't be a way to sell higher. High bid buyers can take low bid offers. That said your ideal item would be one that is going up in price.

 

 

 

You might also want to consider items that can be converted for a profit. Say uncut gem to cut.
