Computer not showing cd burner as a burner....

Featured Replies

Last month I went to burn a disc and the program I was using (Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn 2) told me that it couldnt find a burner. It had worked fine up until that moment and now I cant get it to burn using that program. I have no problems when using Nero, but Nero just isnt as good as Ashampoo for movies.

I have an AMD Sempron 2.1 Ghz, 512mb ram, 1 - 120gig hd, 1-10gig hd, 52 speed cd-rom drive and a Norcent cd burner. I am running Windows XP PRO with all updates. All of my hardware is also updated with new drivers.

Anyone have an ideas on this? I have uninstalled Ashampoo, cleared the registry after that, then re-installed Ashampoo with no luck. Why would the one program see the burner but not another? I'm confused!

When I open windows explorer it shows it as a burner. That is why I cant understand why the program cant see it.
