The Safespot is in the south-east corner, 1 grid above the boxes. From there, you can mage/range it easily, without using food. If it draws you close, just run back. re-click attack if it makes you run away, but you won't move anywhere since you're in a corner. Even if Glod attacks you, his attack would be out of range. So basically this is a safe spot. I've killed him without using any food, and had over 2/3 hp left.

 

 

 

hopefully this will help people who don't have lots of melee capability
