windows media player: an internal application errorhas ocurd

ok when i try and play video clips/ download to watch i get an error msg pop up saying an interanl application error has occured.

 

 

 

i found this article about it http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=831430 the second option is a fix but next time i turn on my computer i will get the error msg again.

 

 

 

any help will be very much appreciated,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

by the way im running windows xp, with all the latest updates
