There should be a price table which shows the beginning prices at all of the different stores in Runescape. Below is just the helm store. It would help stop scamming and give even the new players a starting point. There could be the disclammer stating that as more of that item are in stock the prices will adjust themselves.

The information about shop prices adjusting themselves is already available at the runescape site, athough not in-game. As far as that info and the starting prices being in-game, I do think it's nice to help beginners. However, a big part of starting out is about dying, spending too much on an item, selling something you should have kept, etc. Those learning experiences are worth a lot more than the items thelmseves.

 

 

 

I understand your concern about scamming, and I'm all for pointing out scams like the chocolate bomb, gnome eyeball, etc., but, if a player is willing to spend "x" gp on item "x," then that's not actually a scam.
