The frontiersmen

Prologue:

James Drake spurred his horse, and held on tight as it galloped across the large, grassy plain. Buffalo looked up at him as he pulled his six shooter from its leather holster at his hip, and spun it in his hand.

Ahead, three men screamed, each holding a shotgun. They rode their mustangs crazily, their spurs ramming into the side of the horse.

James rode at them, and lined his shot up. He then blew one of their heads off. The head blew up like a watermelon, and the brains sprayed all over the other two bandits.

"Bastard! You'll regret killing Bobby!" The two men shot wildly at James, but each shot missed as he galloped closer to them.

The two men spurred their horses, until they ran past James horse. James jumped off his horse right before a shotgun went off, and blew his horses back off.

"Damn it!" One of the bandits yelled, pulling on the reins of his horse and turning it around.

James let the horse come towards him, before pulling a tomahawk from his belt.

The horse passed by, and James slashed it at the bandits head. The mans head flew back, off the escaping horse.

The other bandit shot at James, and hit him on the side of the stomach.

James threw the tomahawk aside and aimed his six shooter, pulling the trigger nearly three seconds later. The bandits head exploded like the firsts, and his horse ran towards James, escaping the battlefield.

James hopped onto it and took the reins, spurring her towards the nearby city.

1 Month Later:

Chapter 1

James threw a gold coin onto the counter of the bar, and watched as the bar maid caught it.

"Howdy stranger." She said, her lips curling into a smile.

James sat on a barstool and looked the girl of only seventeen up and down. Her cleavage was the only thing he really noticed, mainly because that was the part she wanted him to see.

"Not a day goes by I don't think of you Susan." James said, kissing her cheek as she set a mug of ale in front of him.

"You know its only because you give me all this money that Billy doesn't fire me for not whoring."

"A pretty little body like yours doesn't need to be dirtied up does it?"

She laughed and kissed him more.

"What cha' think ya doin' miss?" Billy's small frame left him barely imperceptible during James exchange with Susan.

"Billy, this is the man that keeps you in business and me away from those slobbering men over at the poker tables."

Billy had only seen James once, and on that occasion, James had blown up a carriage, killed seven horses, killed two civilians, killed an indian chief, and only paid for two of the four beers he had drunk.

"You raise hell every where you go sah." He said.

"Thank you for the compliment..." James said, taking a swig of beer and then raising the mug to Billy.

"You know who's in town right now?" He asked.

"Don't tell him, you just tryin' to start problems?" Asked Susan.

"That guy Ricky Loft is in town. He upstairs right now, takin' Marla to [bleep] heaven."

James got up and excused himself.

"Don' go an' do that!" Susan yelled at him.

"Gotta, that man's always been fightin' with me for bounties, and I need him outta the way."

James walked towards the wooden stairway near the grand piano, and headed up.

Susan turned towards her boss. "How'd you know?" She asked.

Billy laughed. "James destroyed everything here all those months ago in order to kill him..."

James listened at each door upstairs until he heard a gruff voice.

"Give it to me [bleep]!"

James kicked open the door and drew his six shooter.

"Wha...?" The woman was on her knees, and the man had his pants down before her.

"Hello Ricky..." James shot the man in the stomach.

Ricky screamed, but pulled his pants up anyway and kicked the woman out of the way. He jumped out of the window next to the bed, and fell onto the baclony.

James ran through the window, and rolled until his shoulder hit the balconies railing. He then propped himself up and shot Ricky.

His shot missed. Ricky was now screaming out loud.

"HEY BOYS! WE GOT A MAN WANTS TO DIE!"

Suddenly, horses could be heard galloping across the sand, coming at the bar.

James watched the men come. Ricky threw himself over the banister and down to the ground, his leg hitting the ground with a nasty SNAP!

James reloaded his six shooter and prepared for the coming battle.

"Billy's gonna want a hell uva lot a money after this..."

This story is very mature...I don't know if anyone noticed the fact that I got bleeped a couple times on the first chapter, but really this is only for mature people because this is really powerful stuff...probably my most aduly ever...

This also talks about the American civil war, so my british and other fellow writers might find this a bit hard to understand if they have not studied american history (and if you need to learn a bit of american history, always remember, If America's not in a war with someone, then America must have been nuked.).

Chapter 2:

Ricky limped over to a horse. Its rider dismounted, and helped him on. Ricky then rode off out of the town.

James ran downstairs to the first floor of the bar and listened to the screams as people were shot by high powered rifles. The shots rang in James ears as he flipped a poker table over and hid behind it.

Billy was yelling at him. "You lil' bastard, brought more trouble to my establishmen'."

Susan watched as a six shooter was pulled from its holster, and Billy preapred to shoot at James. She knocked her boss down. She then stuck her heel on his hand until the gun was loosened from his grip.

"Why are you tryin' to kill a man who pays you more than any of these dogs that come in here?" She asked, shifting the heel about until there was a CRACK!

"[bleep]! You keep fighting like this I'll make youi my [bleep] for the night and then I'll make sure that I slit your neck slowly. I'll take in yer blood...MMM WEE!"

James was across the room, keeping one eye on Susan and the other on the mirror on the wall in front of him, reflecting the chaos up front.

Blood flew everywhere, and screams were blocking the sound of the shots.

"Come on out James. We gonna make you into our target dummy." One of the men said.

James heard a childs scream. A little girl was reflected in the mirror, tripping to the ground over a dead man. One of the men bent down and used a scalpel, cutting the top of her head off, until her the man held her hair high, blood streaming from it.

"You little [bleep]ers..."

James threw himself over the table and shot the man in the head. His brain splattered onto another enemies face. The man scrambled about.

"JOHN LEFT HIS BRAINS FOR ME!" He screamed, laughing.

It was all a game...

Suddenly, James noticed that the men wore tattoos. The stars and bars were painted across his face, signifying he was a trooper for the south in the Civil War.

So they were war vets, shellshock making them as crazy as they were.

James shot the other man in the face as well, and started to reload quickly. He knew he had four shots, but he also knew that he might not be able to reload in the heat of battle.

Susan was across the room. She held Billy's six shooter in her hand, and aimed it at his head.

"After all he's done..."

Billy laughed. "[bleep], he's done nothing but bring me pain and misery. I have to fix everythin' in here all the time because fights are breakin' out but when he comes, I gotta renevate the place, rebuild it, and pay for flowers at the funerals."

Suddenly, fires were starting. Beer bottles with kerchiefs in them were being thrown through windows, and fire was spreading about the bar.

"What'd I tell ya? You never listen do ya?"

Susan cried out. She shot her boss in the head, and then brought the gun to her own head.

Her hand shook. She had just killed her boss, the most vile man she had ever known...but that man across the bar, shooting at the men outside, he loved her. He payed for her not to be used as a [bleep]. He gave her money since Billy never gave her money.

She loved him too, and as the fires began to spread across the room, she ran to his side. He started to crouch-walk towards the door.

"He's dead." She cried.

"Damn fine job." James said, coming out on the board walk. People with beer bottles were around the bar, and horsemen carrying rifles laughed.

"We got em boys!" One yelled.

The civilians did not help. The sheriff was fighting the horsemen, but not doing anything but aggravating them.

"Go hide." James said.

Susan did so, and James prepared for the next phase of battle...
