Looking for Range advice - 77 to 99 -

I have decided to get 99 range and become a "meleed" based tank 1 cb lvl over normal tank, any ways what i have come here to ask is, what is the fastest way to get 99 range?

 

I have around 10mill to spend right now, i do not care if i use up all my money either.

 

Some methods i have come up with are:

 

Red chins - around 666 gold each -

 

Cannon - 190 each a ball -

 

Caged greater demons with broad arrow or bolts i herd??

 

 

 

Also i would like to know where to train at with the method you choice and how much i will need to spend.

I would not train one way the whole trip. It can get very boring. I would switch ways. Avainsies, Slayer, Chinchompas, Greater Demons, and Pest Control are a few to name. What is your slayer level by the way?

If you're going for 99 range, it'd be worth investing some time into getting Full Void Ranger armour.

 

 

 

All the methods compfreak suggested are all extremely good, and I used all of them on my way to 99 : .

 

 

 

Range demons with broad bolts and the ranged setup of your choice. You break even here at the very least because of all the rune fulls they drop.

 

 

 

Range yaks with knives/darts and the ranged setup of your choice. You lose some money here because yaks don't drop anything (aside from their hides of course, but you won't be banking them).

 

 

 

Range aviansies with prayer boosting gear or tanking gear and B2P tablets (there are numerous guides out there) for a decent amount of ranged experience using broad bolts/obsidian rings. These guys also drop 4 noted addy bars around 20% of the time so you make ALOT of profit of which you can spend on chins.

 

 

 

From 85 (I suggest 90) onwards, just use chins underneath Ape Atoll for in excess of 200k+ experience in later levels. There are also numerous detailed guides on this.

Yes, that's how much range XP you will get in one hour. So, for example, if you do slayer to get 99 range, it will take approx. 5 times as long as avansies\chins. If you range yaks, currently the 2nd fastest alternative, it will take roughly 3 times as long as avansies\chins. However, if you enjoy a method like pest control, it may be worth it taking 3.5 times as long over avansies\chins.

Void takes too long to get if you cant get a clan in the veteran boat, and imo its not worth the time.

My win rate is better then 90% on w144 when defending, I easily got full void range in under a day.

Anyway, we'll do mathematics - 77-99 range = 11.5m XP, 11.5m X .13 = 1,495,000 XP = 10.5 hours @ 140k XP w\o void. Void range @ 2.2 minute games w\ losses = 109 points per hour. Full void range = 850 points / 109 = 7.8 hours = 2.7 hours saved + much better earning potential for avansies\spirit mages (60 dragon boots obtained with void by me) after 99.

77 range is fine, obviously you won't obtained the XP\cash I listed, but it'll all scale down. You'll do fine there with a tank outfit, you can save the money for 85-90 range before you start doing chins.

Tests have show void to boost max hit by around 15%, feel free to check it out yourself. Yes, I made up all those funky statistics about level 99 being roughly 13m XP and level 77 around 1.5 million. It's all lies, level 99 is 2m XP and level 77 is 13m. I'm just trying to misinform the RS population :roll:

 

 

 

Side note: I love how you use 'look like a tard' as an argument about XP, albeit one that you have clearly lost. It's obvious you haven't even read the first page of my thread, as you would have realized that Slayer is one of my favorite skills and I love training it.

Yep, slayer is bad XP. Fight pits is bad XP. I enjoy both of them and do both of them regularly. That has nothing to do with my trustworthiness, for me XP does not correlate to in game enjoyment.

I responded to your thread as a whole, then broke it down into points to debate each one individually. It's slightly interesting how you whine about how terribly I'm misunderstanding you without ever quite pointing out where and what I'm misunderstanding you about.

Oh, you know, perhaps your statements about how untrustworthy I am for training slayer after saying it's bad XP, and that I shouldn't be allowed to post numbers because of it, despite me discussing exactly that in extreme detail round about page 15 of my thread.

Here's the statistics I used for my Void calculations:

 

 

 

• 15% increased attack\strength equivocating to 13% XP boost at Avansies, as determined through around 20 hours of testing.
   
   
   
  109 PC points per hour, having played 3,000 games at the old PC and an additional 1,400 games at the old PC, aside from obvious stats such as game length.
   
   
   
  11.5m XP from 77-99 range

 

Let me know which of those statistics you wish to debate. Further whining about how I made up all of my statistics without any actual discussion of them will be ignored.
