Internet Companys + Death

This is the rant forum, I needed a place to rant this, and this is the place I decided upon. If your going to post something that I don't like, I won't respond to you, so your post will be useless beside a jump in your post count, which more than likely, is the reason you posted.

 

 

 

Well, just lately, I've been having tons of fun, with Virgin (the company that has been supplying my internet), and their crappy service. My internet disconnects at a rate of about once every 5 minutes, and this causes my runescape gameplay to be highly disrupted. When your trying to kill iron dragons for a slayer task, you don't want to see 'Connection lost, please wait- attempting to reestablish'. You want a undisrupted play of the game you love.

 

 

 

Well, lately, my internet has loved me more than usual. I spend about 30 seconds in runescape before I see the lovely message. This is kind of annoying, but the deaths that are a direct result of this, are even more annoying than I can put into words.

 

 

 

My first death was when I was camping barrows. Bang, Dharok tunnel. Oh well, I'll safespot him behind one of the invisible ladder spawns. Oh wait, he's spawned in the tunnels, run! Bam. 'Connection lost, please wait- attempting to reestablish'. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *trys to log in for the next 5 minutes, failing each time on every PC in the house*

 

 

 

Finally, I manage to log in, and I'm in Falador. I'm missing around 10m worth, mostly from a mage book and various runes and armour, and this was my first big death. I was mightily pissed off, but I felt, no, I won't let it ruin my game.

 

 

 

Not long ago, I've got 25m, more than I've ever had before, and I'm happy as anything, but I can't decide what to do. Hmmm, I'll go camp the monster that is nicest to me, Dagganoth Rex! Guthans, Bunyips, Potions, Runes, Fury, Infinity Boots, ect. La la la, trip going fine. Oh wicked, a dragon axe! :D La la la la, nearing the end of my trip. Gonna tele soon, ah well. 'Connection lost, please wait- attempting to reestablish' NO DAMN IT, NO! 'Connection lost, please wait- attempting to reestablish' stays on my screen for a good while, and I'm going nuts, trying to click my home teleport. No luck. I'd accidently took my entire rune stock, and that caused a great deal of loss. 11m I worked out in the end.

Ah well, I've worked back :) Saradomin hilt duo for 22m helped a lot, but I'm pro slaying now, trying to get the last 200k+ xp for 83. 'Your new task is to kill 56 scarabites' Meh, ok, lets go for it, my internet hasn't disconnected for the last couple of hours, so I should be safe. La la la...

Total loss was whip, slayer helm, d boots, ring of wealth, fire cape, barrows gloves, rune defender, dds, and my inv. I protected torag platebody, platelegs, and fury.

 

 

 

Its more the fire cape thats annoyed me for the loss, I spent a day working towards it. My first attempt, I died at wave 30ish. Second attempt, I was distracted by family on a middle spawn jad, third time = dad disconnecting internet at wave 56. Fourth attempt = Jagex system update with 1 minute warning. I didn't have time to finish wave 59, and my progress was not saved. Completed it at attempt 5, and I was happy as anything.

 

 

 

This is a rant at Jagex, for logging you out the second your internet disconnects, saving you as you are (impossible I know, but I need to rant at something), and at Virgin Media. Your god damn engineer didn't come on Friday, and the problem is not fixed, so I've lost a decent amount thanks to your crappy internet service.

 

 

 

Maybe I should take them to court for mental anguish? :

 

 

 

Ah well, I felt I had to write this rant, or I'd explode in annoyance, sorry if I wasted your time reading it.

Sorry, I sympathize with you but this will be locked. It's your ISP's fault, not Jagex. Get a better ISP :|

So, what your trying to say is, should jagex log you out as soon as you disconnect?

 

 

 

Might work, but a multitude of ways it could be abused, what if i had my modem/router next to my table, and pulled the plug whenever i thought i was going to die in pvp/to a rev.

Exactly. "Danger" becomes a joke. Close to dying? Pull the plug, wait for a friend to get there to bless your grave\protect you. Terrible idea.
