If you successfully grow a root inside a plant pot, the sapling is called "Potted root", not "rooted root" like the guide says.

 

I guess it's a typo.

 

 

Additionaly you already get 2.5k slayer xp when killing the vine during the quest, afterwards the additional 23k xp reward.
