Besides, I didn't realise monks had caps? I thought they shaved the centre of their head in order to reveal their bare skin to God? Why would they want a cap on that?

Maybe he means a cloak, like the ones players wear in cwars.

 

 

 

The monks' would look real funny wearing fitted caps. :lol:

Monks in real life, along with priests and such, wear caps/hats. Bishops wear things that I can't recall the name of. Benedictan monks wear small, round caps with their habbits, similar to the Jewish yamaca (spelling?)
