Download a fresh copy of Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/), uninstall your current version, remove the Firefox program folder and install that new version. Deleting the Firefox program folder is important to remove all the files and make sure that there are no access problems. See Standard diagnostic: Clean reinstall (MozillaZine KB) You can skip the step to create a new profile as that should not be necessary for that issue.
