arionic
Ok I'm new to these forums but an oldie to runescape. I've just got a new PC with Mozilla Firefox not Internet Explorer. Firefox cant find the right javascript plug-in to play Runescape, so I asked the RS staff and got an obivously automated reply stating that if enough people mentioned this they would resolve it. But seeing as this place is not full of automated users but fellow players, I was wonder if anyone else has come across this problem or could tell me where to go to find the suitable plug-in
lordkafei
I can play RS in Firefox, so I know it works. Do you have Sun Java installed? If you don't, you wil need it. Amak
I too have had problems with FF. I always have tabs open, one problem was when runescape was open and running if I went to a different tab and try'd to type things it would not turn out correctly. Sometimes firefox became not responding. I tried download sun java but I think it did a bad install :P so Instead to resolve the problem I went to the "downloads" option on the runescape home page and downloaded the runescape browser, Since then I've had no problems todo with either things. Btw, firefox is the best!
ricey
I figured out why a week ago. You play high detail right? Well the script RS uses messes with the FF script, normally you could type normally like I am right now, but if you had RS on and you were typing an address..etc etc. It would press space or foward on the directonal keys automatically, thus causing problems. Solutions : 1) Use IE [ Not recommended] 2) Low-Detail [ Recommended ]
Arkhistrategos
I think I might have your solution. I believe you would need to install/reinstall Java Runtime Environment. The download can be found at this link: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp - Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 5 by Sun Microsystems. Choose the download that suits your operation system, probably Microsoft Windows. Offline or online installation doesn't really matter, but if you have a broadband connectiong, I suggest using offline. Simply read the instructions from there and you should be good to go. The other possible solution to your problem would be that JavaScript is disabled in your browser. To enable it, start up Firefox and go to Tools>Options>Web Features and check the box labeled "Enable JavaScript." Other problems could stem from an outdated version of FF, although this is doubtful. I suggest trying the simple solutions first: -Try to play Runescape in Low-Detail mode (as recommended by ricey). -Make sure JavaScript is enabled. After trying those, install the Java runtime environment from the link above and check to see if this fixes the problem. I hope that one of these solutions will help and good luck to you. To Moderators: I'm sorry if I'm not allowed to post links here. I'm new to the forum, and I'm not sure if I can.
