Reporting people

Featured Replies

We all love this game! but a few tend to spoil it with swearing. I know most people swear but i believe that as some younger people play this great game we all need to keep control of ourselves. They can't spell the swear words out properly i know but they can still get what they mean over.

The reason for me writing this is because the other day someone swore at a kid of 10 years old calling him a 'Fauking wenker' I did try to report this but for some reason i couldn't report it. On the report abuse message said i had to report it within 60 seconds and they would have had to have sent a message or traded recently, this person kept on for a while and each time they swore or harassed this player, and others i tried to report it.

I was wondering if there could be a better way to report those who break the rules and make the gaming experience less pleasurable for other members.

I get that a lot. Generally it's becaus the name is like 0Odumbplayer1l with characters that appear similar in the runescape font.

I do think that a right-click to report option in the chatbox may not be a bad idea. Another good one would be a report button right in the trade screen.

It would probably create much more work for JAGeX if these features were implemented though, which is I would guess the only reason that they haven't been.

if someone swears at me i swear back it works good for me

if someone swears at me i swear back it works good for me
right...i'll remember to report you if i meet you.

That, obviously, is a perfect way to bring more and more profanity into the game.

Report and report again. Yes, JAGeX gets a lot of then. Yes, there's no way they read them all. However, it make a difference, I'm sure. If people can't enjoy playing Runescape without swearing, they oughta be at a nightclub instead.

Unfortunately, the mass majority of the morons swearing constantly are probably around 10 or something...nightclubs aren't really an option for them. They're younger...and cussing seems cool and adult to them.

In my experience, most people 18 or older have probably done their fair share of cursing...or at least heard their fair share. A lot (obviously not all. There's always the occasional drunk who plays) are tired of it, and would rather express themselves in a better way...one that requires more intelligence and shows it.

Obviously, not all people 10-13 are going around cursing like sailors...and it's equally obvious that not all 21 year olds are all clean in their speech.

But that's just the kind of general trend that I've found.
