Some may view the corp beast as just another jagex boss but i believe it marks the beginning of a new age in runescape.

When jagex first made bosses they made them with one major common flaw people could pray against them while jagex did have them using an array of combat attacks this major flaw allowed players to quite effectively kill them alone or in very small groups at low levels. These bosses the {mole, kbd, kq, and jad} are what i call the first era of jagex bosses.

The second era changed the rules a little bit. These new bosses, aka the god wars bosses, could hit through prayer and also had powerful minions to help them and make them more difficult for players too kill. But still players found ways to effective solo these monsters. And yes the requirements for soloing these were much higher but still it was accomplish able even against the saradomin boss, who i consider the most powerful of the 4.

Now we are at today. The corporeal beast!!!!!!

This monster is a whopper at lvl 785 combat, 83 lvls higher than jad and much more powerful.

with the power to one hit even those with 99 hp this thing is mean. What more it seems to ignore armor defenses making them almost useless and has a damage reducing field around it that cause you to hit less effectively. Not only that but one of its attacks can lower your stats that are boosted. Another major irritation is the dark core that it releases that can steal your health and give it to the beast. Even the mighty ruby e bolts only hit a max of 100 out of its 2k hp points with people rarely seeing hits in any fashion over 30. Guides for this boss recommend substantial stats for this boss and also teams being of a min of 5-10 even for high level characters. With this monster i believe jagex has created something for every player to have a challenge defeating and brought a new age to boss making. And yes i know that the corporeal beast has now been soloed but most people, even maxed people, can only last for one trip and even then there is the risk of death.

Please if you have a view or something to add please post but don't just say you agree or disagree give a reason.

Well the thing I dislike about Runescape bosses is that all of them can be massed. No matter how strong something is, with enough people anything can be taken down. Also most of the bosses require absolutely no skill at all with corp beast been the only exception, and that is basically know how to dodge the ball of spit and the spirit, both are not difficult at all. I believe that the reward equation for Runescape success has been Time(Effort)+Luck=Sucess, but I hope in future developments the equation can more be like Skill+Time(Effort)=Success.

I agree that it isn't perfect yet but I'm mostly trying to say that I think jagex is starting to really improve their bosses. Also about the mass issue while this is true it also gives lower level players a chance to try to defeat higher level monsters by using numbers. Now in the future it might be nice to see some boss chambers that have a max people limit but I don't see it as a major issue.

Dagganoths added a new mechanic in a way, but i agree with you. Even though i have never been corping Summers End was a challenge.

I'm not sure how you stop the mass problem, maybe a huge aoe attack?

Dagganoths did add a lot to the game and i must admit they are one of the bosses that I don't know as much about, but the thing is that they are 3 separate bosses to some degree in that people have found ways to take them down one at a time now if you had to fight them all at once no matter what then i would consider them much more powerful. There is also the fact, correct me if I'm wrong, that you can use protect prays and safe spots.

Yeah, Jagex made boss/monster development harder and harder.

Dagganoth Kings = 3 Bosses at once

Jad = Requires pray flashing

Kalphite Queen = Protection Prayer'd boss

GWD = Bosses + Minions

And, with the Corporeal Beast, comes a boss with insanely high HP and attack power, with minions that heal it.

There should be a Boss Battles mode, where you have to fight all the bosses without dying, and you must fight them yourself. The reward would be a cape with double the stats of a fire cape.

I'm not keen on your cape idea, but I agree with the mechanics of your boss summary

Also I think its ridiculous you get graves agaisnt bosses in gwd, jage nerfed pvp drops to bring them in line with other money makers, but once a system is in place there is hardly no risk at boss fights.

The next stage up really is the idea of a dungeon, which you progress through fighting mini bosses of perhaps gwd difficulty then with a major corp difficulty. It would be callenging fighting lets say 3 gwd bosses one after the other each with ecxtra minions only to take on a corpreal beast like thing
