Criticism Please

I've recently got into the Gorillaz, mainly because the music's pretty good (great on some songs) and the animation is outstanding. So I decided to draw 2-D. This was really my first time scanning one of my real-life drawings and drawing over it in photoshop. Obviously it could have gone a lot worse, but it obviously isn't that great either. I already know that next time I'll try to be a bit more careful with the pen tool, try a bit of shading (because looking back at the video I drew it from, there was a bit of shading), and use something other than a normal hard brush... God, those lines look ugly >.< Anyone have suggestions on which type of brush to use to make them look better? Also, any other things I could improve that I haven't already listed?

 

Edit: Alright... next time I'll put it on a white background, or at least color in the lines #-o

Torso looks a bit puffy and blocky, apart from that I personally like it. Also seems you Ninja'd me to the "Draw inside Lines" part so I'll ignore that. ;)
