Ok i was thinking about making my 17th attempt at a fire cape but im not sure if i should continue with my current method or use setup 2.

Setup 1:

Guihans helm

Glory / fury

Guthans Body

Guthans skirt

Dragon Boots / Snakeskin Boots

Barrows Gloves

Ardy Cloak 3 / Trimmed Def skillcape

Rune c'bow

Broad Bolts (1-1.5k?)

Unholy Book / BSS

Invo:

EE

Guthans Spear

Range potion(4)

Sara Brews ( how many should i take?)

Restores ( 2:1 or 3:1 ratio?)

Emergency food (if needed)

150 Diamond(e) Bolts for Jad

Setup 2:

Archer Helm / Neitiznot Helm

Glory / Fury

Black d'hide top

Black d'hide legs

Dragon Boots / Snakeskin boots

Barrows Gloves

Accumulator

Archer ring

Rune c'bow

Broad Bolts (1-1.5k?)

BSS / Unholy book

*note* Second setup will be used with same invo as above. I have around 5m to make any nessasary changes. Would it be better to use normal Prayer potions + rocktails over Sara brews + restores as i dont have a lot of money to spend and i have around 250 pray pots in my bank.

I use:

Guthan's helm

Karil top + bottom / Guthans top + bottom

Karil's Xbow (3k bolts)

Fury

Trimmed WC Cape

Explorer's Ring 3

Inventory:

7 Sara Brews

7 Super Restores

Warspear / Xbow

(Karil / Guthan top + bottom)

Range Potion

And rest prayer potions

I make it to Jad with that setup every time. I just mess up the prayer switch :<

Thank you for the advice Eldest, i would buy Karils, however, with only 5m to spend that would leave me with little to no money to change anything else so for the moment i will stick with black d'hide. I noticed on another topic they talked about the Karil c'bow being better in speed than the rune c'bow, i was wondering if this would make it more efficient in the fight caves than the rune c'bow is.

It's all up to you.

Rune C'bow is more powerful, but it is slower. Karil's Xbow is not as powerful, but makes up for it in speed.

I've used both the C'bow and the Xbow and I like the Xbow better. Just because I'd rather not sit in the cave any longer than I have to, lol.

Karil's bow is way better except for jad himself. The extra distance it has is also invaluable for luring. Use setup two, use nezzy helm and snakeskin boots. Bring 8 brews 8 super rests 8 prayer pots ee and 3 ranging potions. Start using range pot once the 360s come and redose every 8 minutes. Make sure you use your ardy 3 or trimmed 99 cape if you choose to use karil's crossbow.

IIRC you made a few posts about wanting to stay low budget, but hindering your ability to do the fight caves by not taking minimally expensive upgrades ends up costing you more money. If you made it to Jad on previous setups with plenty of supplies and just messed up prayer switches, keep using that setup. If you feel you're using too many supplies getting to Jad or can't even get to Jad, make some nice small upgrades such as karil's crossbow.

+1

getting to jad isnt generally the problem.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Yea i used the Guthans Method before and it failed me horribly because i wasnt ready for the wave 60 i believe it is (right before the 2 360 wave then Jad) and i got massacred by the 360,180, and 90 as i didnt kill them in time.

This is my setup I use (lose the shield TBH)

I got to Jad 3 times with this but I failed constantly with prayer switching.

This setup is really nice if you're lucky with heals from guthans.

I would suggest try setup 2 once or twice to see if you like that better.

I guess ill try guthans method again because i tried the range method and once i get to the waves with the 180s + 90s im getting ripped apart because im not able to lure the 180 then kill the 90 in time before the 180 ko's me.
